  5. OMG,

Can anyone lend a suggestion on this second letter of intent to marry....PLEASE !

Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

    Thank you !

    Deborah & kelvin (F)

  6. Please Let us all know when your hard copy arrives via US POSTAL Service ! I am waiting too, Got the email 2/28 now just waiting on pony express to deliver it !

  8. Absolutely,

Any extra photos are welcome ! Yes I agree on the chickens and the goats.LOL.......

Nigeria is a wonderful place and I too would love to be there, but the economy keeps me away except for small trip, but that also keeps it a special place in my heart.

I agree Nigeria has the power to help the growth and prosperity of its own country,I know it has changed alot since 2000 but I can only pray it gets a great idealist for a president to move it forward even more.

There is much more I seen but sometimes only photos can show others who havent been there,..........I tried to explain the roads (pot holes) and the check points but taking photos of thoses are risky.

Have you ever tried to explain to Nigerians (Our Loves) that we dont have huge pot holes or police check points, how about explaining snow LOL.............This whole experience has been a change for everyone but most of all its made it exciting and I personally cant wait to take my Love to Las Vegas with all the glits and glam!

Please feel free to forward Nigerian Photos that you would like to share with the rest of the world !

Thanks and I am so glad you enjoyed the sight !

  10. JoeyJoey,

Okay bur when you say that are you using the USICS website for case status inquiries ? Because I am finding that to be inaccurate too.I mean they seem not to be updating within a timely fashion.

I got a NOA in the mail before the website was updated...........

And also my friends hasnt been updated in 6 months even through they have gone much furture in their process.

Also do you know any new updates for the Application Time line for processing, that hasnt been updated for a month.

    Thanks

  11. Ladies,Ladies.........HUm I have to laugh with you NOT at you..........

I am not sure the issues are all the same with the men we speak of from W.Africa,I seriouslly wonder if it who they are raised by.....I say this for My Hon was raised by women and many from Mum to girlfriend of dad who by the way lives in the UK with a wife (so I think My Hon,has learned that women are the emotional support, not just for assistance)

He does have that shoe cleaning thing too,I think it is because the value of a NEW pair of shoes is very appreciated.I mean when I was there visiting I didnt understand what he meant by a fairly new pair of shoes he bought. (now I know) So when I brought gifts of new shoes, gezzzzz they were washed after each outting....Ladies mine dont get washed either here but there they did by HIM .LOL

I was treated as a queen and didnt lift a finger and wasnt allowed too,SO I asked him straight out was that normal for the man to do everything (cause I really wanted to help)He told me the man does the majority of the chores and takes care of the children, the woman is to cook and feed the children. YES YES the man still holds down a full time career too.

So right away I explain most of the American womans ways....We work or have careers,we are independant but need love,Not all women here want children due to careers or personal choice, and we usually cook, clean, mow grass, supply shop and fix broken things around the house, and tend to any pets we may have.............And if children are involved usually the woman has to attend school issues and tends to their homework,American males usually tend to the TV and the neighbors.......

Okay Okay dont get upset Ladies,I am not bashing American men but I have a little right here...I was married very young the first time and than again later for 12 years. My career did come first with only step children involved from the last man.I have no children of my own and didnt plan on any do to how I seen some being raised..... But back to how my Hon responded was very shocking to me. He just kept telling me I do too much and he will do anything I want and yes children is a desire of his, But when it comes to money/spending his is very cautious and gets upset when too much is spent, not angry or mad but VERY concerned that there will be enough to make ends meet. HUMMMMMMMMM thats different.

So maybe it is who they are raised by or what they didnt have that makes things between W.African men different in many ways,I did get to experince his Dad and his ways...........His Dad did want the best of the best and thougt I was rich being American,I didnt have to set him straight,My Hon did !

Maybe I am just lucky that I found Kelvin. He is sensitive,OMG VERY VERY loving, desires to make me happy, understands my ways are different than his,we did argue about an issue but he pleaded with me to just talk it out (cause we never get mad/upset)....and he loves to show affection in front of public, family and friends "more "than me.....

We chat everyday and talk via telephone when ever we need to hear each others voice..........Drinking issues: Thats funny cause he got drrrunker than me and we were laughing at each other.

He does get jealious only because he doesnt know my friends like I know his but that will come in time. When that happens I just remind him I found him and I desired the k-1 before him.

Ladies I dont have the answers either, but communication and being able to enjoy the differences in cultures I think is the real trick ! Remember one thing, You have choosen to love a different culture,PLEASE dont try to change them so quickly to be American Men.........we could have had one of those with less visa issues !

Please dont take my post negatively, its just meant to bring light/love back to the reason we all have made this journey !

    For LOVE right !!!! (F)

  12. Congrats !!!

I am heading back to Lagos Jan 30-Feb 18,2007 I feel I got a good rate through www.bt-store.com.........But I am also leaving from a strange/out of the way airport. $1200.00 RT total.

Good Luck and if you find cheaper flights let me know Please I am sure I will be going again in Spring.

    Deborah & Kelvin

  13. Masterpiece,

As a new member..Thanks for the insite at lagos,I understand the mad rushes, seen it on vacation,(Bus Depots) I can only imagine in the Embassy!

If they only realized order makes things go faster.

But Thank You so much for all the posts,I knew when I got nervious just keep reading someone has already been where I am at.............We are filing a K-1 instead of visitors (denied,of coarse) Did you ever encounted any issues with your past visitors visa applications vs K-1 ?....I want to file by Dec 1,2006...

Thank You & Best Wishes !

    Deborah & Kelvin

  14. Well the interview went well in Abuja,No documents looked at but they did deny his visitor visa for no pre-arranged plans. But we did post in his application that plane tickets would be purchased apon visa approval.

He will reapply with the tickets and hopefully all will go well,we would hate to waste $2,000 for another denial.

Questions were asked:What reason are you going to the US? Tourism

Same qustion asked again....Answer: Tourism & visit

How do you know your sponsor? College in Nigeria

Who is she to you? Friend

How long do you plan to stay? 4 Months

What do you study in college? Political Science

Do you have financal means to support yourself? No

(we should have answered: That will be taken care of by my parents and co sponsor, due to being a full time student)

Kelvin said the lady was very nice and not pushy or rude, and she invited him to reply again. She gave him the letter of denial and he thanked her and called me with the bad news.

    We'll just try again....and again!

  15. Phone records !

Tel3advantage.com great for keeping detail records of calls and recharges automatically if you sign up for it.

No hidden fees and no contracts.

About 19 cents per minute from mobile to mobile. USA to Nigeria. Cheaper if you use land lines.

Its only good for USA calling there, does not work for Nigeria to call us. SORRY.

    Deborah & Kelvin (F)

Bank statements I did 12 months & Bank letter

Paystub 6 months with employer letter

    Tax Forms 3 years worth.

  16. Notarizing tax returns ?

I am a notary and I am sure the site meant notarized I-134.

If you do tax returns yourself and your not sure if that will be fine,I would suggest getting in contact with the IRS asking for a copy from them directly.

There is a site for that, forgive me though...not sure where I seen it. ***removed*** or VisaPro.com,immigration.com......

If your appointment is too soon for that, Just have faith in what you gave and leave it in Gods hands.

Best of Luck............maybe they will not ask to see those forms !

    Have FAITH !

    Deborah & Kelvin (F)

  17. Ok Optimystic,

SOOOOOOO that is what they call the ppl on the streets selling.Being org from Brooklyn NY,I was just saying street venders.LOOOL

I am glad you enjoyed the photo of us,Its my fav....besides some personal ones,BUT we can leave those personal (I am sure everyone understands)

Kelvin got his ticket today for Abuja and leaves saturday to get rest and prepare. He had a very long journey to Abraka for his final exiting college exam,so now it is time to rest and prepare for the Interview on Monday. He's never flown either so this should be quite a story when he lands LOL. Its only a hour flight but that fine for beginners............

First I make him ride a horse and now fly for the first time ! He sure is learning quick !!!

But enjoying everything at the sametime.

Wish us luck on Monday, yes its only a visitors visa appointment, but we have to start somewhere with his virgin passport !

    Deborah (F)

  18. I agree with everything said also,My flight was 23.5 hours. But had two lay overs that was a blessing,Window shopped and stretched ALOT. Back on board bought some passengers drinks........LOL they were free anyway.... we all partied and laughted alot......

Get to know your seat companions, that worked best for me!

And yeah I studied Igbo to surprise my Babe too.

Good luck and if all else fails, try LUNESTA its a good sleep aid with no hang over effects.

    Be safe & happy journey

    Deborah (F)

  19. Thanks Everyone,

I can say education of people no matter what their skin tone is,usually is a huge task. I am one that realizes that you are only scared of what you don't know and ignorant of what you won't learn.

If everyone would only open their minds, they would find their hearts full of joy. BUTTTTT as we all know that doesn't always happen in the real world.

I can assure Nigerians I will correct some peoples minds about Nigeria, some have already changed since I return unharmed and feeling at peace with all life has to offer and flashing photos of our good times.

Some are even jealious because I was not afraid to travel alone..........crazy maybe but not afraid LOL.

I can only recomend to those jealious ones to buy a ticket and discover AFRICA............any part just do it !

No there werent Lions and Tigers in Lagos, but you can do all your holiday shopping from the front seat of your car !........

If anyone one has suggestions what else to see in Asaba/Lagos/Festac/Warri areas I would be interested for our next trip planning.
