  1. Hi,  apologies if this question was asked before, but I have been unable to find a solid answer on these questions. My wife's application has been approved to be expedited and sent to Santo Domingo, DR with 48 hours. So far we have submitted our DS-261 and DS-260 and paid our fees, the AOS fee and the DS-260 Fee. We still need to submit the Affidavit of Support form, the financial evidence and the other supporting documents like marriage certificate, birth certificate, police document etc.

    I have 2 questions:

    1) How do I submit the documents to the embassy that have not been submitted to the NVC yet? By email, mail, or do we just wait and have my wife take them to the interview with her?

    2) How do we get an interview date at the embassy? Do we wait for the embassy to contact us? Do we go ahead and schedule it online ourselves before hearing from the embassy?

If someone can give me some concrete answers on these questions, I would be forever happy and grateful!!

    Thank You

You welcome! Yes, I was approved on August 1st and NVC received it on the 16th (I called on the 17th). Then on the 18th I got the welcome letter and I completed everything in a week, although I even had problems with the payment portal but every step was processed in a day or 2 so I was able to move quickly.

That's awesome, are you the American citizen or are you the alien?

You can call them after 10 days I would say to see if they have your case # and invoice #. If they do, you can get started on the ceac website before they send you the welcome email.

Yes, you use the USCIS case number until you get your NVC case number. Their number is (603) 334-0700. They work 7 am to midnight weekdays. Calling 7-8 am and after 10 pm have shorter wait times.

Thank you for all your help. Was it really that quick from I130 approval to sending all the documents to NVC for you, 24 days?

They will have the same email they had for USCIS. Once they receive your case I believe you can call and give both the beneficiary's and petitioner's email addresses so you both get notifications. Are you going to be your own agent?

Yes, I am going to be the agent. How do I know when they have received my case from USCIS, before they send me the notification. Do I need to call and speak to someone and ask or is there an automated number I can call to find out if they have it? If so, what do I use for them to search for my case, my USCIS receipt number?

  5. Hi everyone,

Our case was just approved at USCIS on 8/29 after more than 9 months of waiting so about to start on the NVC stage. I have a question.

Where does the very first notification from NVC get sent? Is it to me as the I 130 petitioner or does it go to my wife as the visa applicant/beneficiary?

How is this sent? By mail, by email? I don't have any confidence in the mail system in the Dominican Republic. I am hoping it is mailed to me here in the USA. Could it be emailed? USCIS have my email address, does that get given to NVC  so they can send me an email? I am also moving in 2 weeks to another address, so I am worried that we don't get the initial notification from NVC.

    please help

    thanks

According to my app, they have started processing some cases for late November. There were a couple with PDs of Nov 21. You should hear something soon. But then again this process is not concrete. There are still some with earlier PDs waiting.

Where do you see this in the app? I downloaded the app from this chat but it does not show me the info you are referencing.
