Hello all, I am hoping someone can clarify this for me. My fiancee and I are in the last stage before the interview of our K-1 journey.

Our lawyer has instructed us that we need to scan and upload some documents to the CEAC although I have not been able to find where or what this needs to be. Long story short the lawyer has been out of the office about every other week for the last couple months and is becoming less helpful (which is super frustrating). The interview is coming up in 18 days and I'm getting worried that we won't be able to find where or what needs to be uploaded.

1. If someone could help with this I would be appreciated

2. I've read on the NVC website that they specifically say those who file a DS-260 upload documents but it says nothing about the DS-160. Are we supposed to upload anything or just bring everything to the interview?

Thanks in advance, hopefully someone can guide us through this last step.

Another question for this process. Do you all have experience or know anything about if a family member of the beneficiary would cause problems? Without going into a lot of detail, my fiance's father has been in trouble with the US and had his visa privileges taken for 5 years. Would this be likely to cause any problems for obtaining the K-1 visa for my fiance?

Hello all, I stumbled across this site as a result of looking up information to get started with a K-1 visa for my fiance. I have no idea what I am doing and could really use advice from people who have gone through the process. First, I have a meeting set up with an immigration lawyer in a couple weeks (Are lawyers really necessary?). Second, my fiance and I are planning to married next July, 2018. I guess the main questions I have are what does this process look like, how long should it take, how much should it cost, and what can I do to ensure the process is done according to the law.
