    Hey Everybody

    i got a question :

    Can i have a state issued ID before i get the EAD card?

    My wife has one. Though it is by mistake. They let her keep it even after the DMV realized its own mistake. We found this out the hard way. According to some little old lady at the Wisconsin DMV service centerwe went to, wife has to to have I797 that says under "notice type": APPROVED Not the "Receipt" one that you get.

    That proves legal status in the country. Wife passed her written driving test, but they wouldn't give her the permit card till she had I797 that says the above.

    She just got EAD card production ordered 7-24-08. Now we can go back there.

    What if I-94 expires while waiting for AOS?

    Hi everyone,

    I don't quite understand the AOS process and I looked in the guides for an answer to my question, but haven't come up with a solid answer yet. If I apply for the AOS and EAD right after I get married on a K-1, what happens when the I-94 expires? After the 90 days have passed to get married, and I have gotten married within that time, what is my status, while I am waiting for the AOS, and is there something I have to do?

    You'll be out of status but it's ok as long as you have pending AOS... It's ok too even if you didn't file AOS right away as long as you got married within the 90-day period. The good thing about having an approved AOS is you can work, travel outside the country and live the American life freely.

    1- What is the top left white block for?

    -Do I have to place a 2x2 picture there or for official use only?

    2- Question 22. List below all employment . . .

    At the bottom line "In what occupation do you intend to work in the United States?"

    If my fiancee will take any job, can I put in "Any job available" or just leave it blank?

    Don't worry about either one of them Naly, never filled them in.

    Thank so much for clarifying this.

    So far She had:

    -her Birth certificate translated.

    -her police record.

    Do you know any other documents that she needs to be translated?

    For example:

    -Certificate of engagement

    -Beneficiary family member list

    -Beneficiary address

    -Beneficiary letters that she sent to me in Cambodian

    Or any documents that you may remember.

    Don't think you need this, but if you wanted to you could. Just cost more money.

    Correct Naly, medical exam can be done now, it is good for one year. You got to be ready with all the stuff you checked off on the checklist, that applies to you when they call you in for the interview. Pack 4= Interview appointment date.

    I would like to know what exactly I have to send back.

    The list below is in Phnom Penh Consulate Info.

    It looks like you can call or email to setup and interview date once they received P3. Is this POSSIBLE?

    Navy, I tried calling many times. The one time I got thru, the consulate operator give me the non immigrant IV unit. I asked this guy for the IV unit and he told me you got to email them. I never did get to talk to the IV unit. The interview date is set up by the IV unit when they have received the I93 checklist and the other stuff I have said. Once you get them to acknowledge receipt of those, then they tell you it will take 10 to 12 weeks to get an appointment (pack 4). This is what I was told by them. It did not take us that long, but you might be ready for this just in case.

    They hardly answer email or phone and when they do, they don't give you a straight answer.

    Yup, email wise was hard sometimes to understand them. Just ask or look for the appointment receipt email. You got to email them everyday for an answer, once you send in all the forms. Just telling you what happen to me. Don't claim for this to be the correct way.

    (My file left NVC since 01/03/08)

    Did you get yr NVC letter in the postal mail yet?

    -Does the "embassy always replied next business day?"

    I never got a pack 3 from them. No they do not respond the next day.

    (I e-mailed them on 01/15/08 and I've nerver got a response)

    I had to email them everyday until I got a response, about a week

    - Is this "2nd IV InquiryPHP2007******beneficiary last name" the correct subject to e-mail the embassy in PP?

    I am not sure what to do next.

    Could call the nation visa office in Washington DC.

    -Should I wait, call or e-mail them again?

    I could not call them, email only. That is why you call the National visa office, they can tell you what is happening about yr case.

    Well, I am going to head off to Cambodia in February. I hope they send p4 to my fiancee. Otherwise I am not sure what will happen because I am not home to check my mail.

    I really hope they send it to my fiancee. I hope and pray everything will go well and I can bring my fiancee home when I return.

    They sent pack 4 to me navy, postal mail here in the usa. Don't see anyone else here on the forum getting it any other way lately. Maybe you can get someone to check yr postal mail while you are gone.

    I got my packet 3 01/12/08. Yeah, they send it to me and not to my fiancee in cambodia. I don't know when they

    sent it. Because my lawyer(waste of money) got it and didn't send me all the stuff, only the packet 3.

    I-93 DSL-1076

    1. Photocopy of passport phtoto page for each applicant;

    2. Two photographs for each applicant (see Photographs above).

    Enclosures:

    1- Form DS-230 Part I, Biographic Data

    2- Form DS-156(K) Supplemental K1 Visa Form

    3- Form DS-157

    4- Optional Form 167

    5- Form I-134, Affidavit of Support

    6- Medical Examination Instructions and Forms

    My plan:

    1- Tell my fiancee to get 2 photo (done)

    2- Tell my fiancee to get medical exam done in PP

    the examiner will fill out

    form DS-3024 (done)

    form DS-3025 (done)

    form DS-3026 (done)

    3- Tell my fiancee to get photocopy her passport (done)

    4- Tell my fiancee to get her birth certificate, original and certified or translated (done)

    5- Tell my fiancee to get a police report/record (done)

    6- I fill out DS-156 (did that online and submitted it already on 01/03/08)

    Q: what if you messed up, can you submit another DS-156 online?

    7- I fill out form DS-230 (done)

    8- I fill out form DS-156(K) (done)

    9- I fill out form DS-157 (done)

    10- I fill out I-134 (this is a long one, still working on this, should have it in a couple days...)

    on there, I will have my bank information and I will have my house on it too, since I own a house

    I will get it notoried.

    I will include photocopies of my 1099 misc (04,05,06).

    I will include photocopy of my property tax form showing I own the house.

    i want to submit these forms asap, but I can't get my tax transcripts for 04,05,06 yet, but they are coming

    Q: should I wait to get my tax transcripts?

    Q: will they accept photocopies of my 1099 misc income (04,05,06) and property tax form

    or will they want originals?

    11- Tell my fiancee to fill out form I-93 DSL-1076

    12- Tell my fiancee to sign all the forms that need her signature

    12- Tell my fiancee to put together evidence of support

    -photos of us together in PP

    -printout of phone calls from her to me in the US. I have phones cards, but I can't send them to her, but

    plan to bring them with to the interview

    That is pretty all that we have.

    Q: Will they be enough?

    13- Tell my fiancee to package all that up and mail it to the Embassy in PP

    Q: What is the best to way to get it mailed to the Embassy in PP? Can she use DHL in PP so that there

    is tracking? Or do I have to send it myself from the US?

    Q: Do I have everything covered to get to Pak 4?

    Q: When should I expect pak 4 after I sent everything?

    Q: When should I start emailing them asking about the interview date?

    Any comment, advice or help will be appreciated.

    Oh, I forgot to mention that I was so excited to get pak 3 that I booked a ticket to go to Cambodia next month. Is this wise? Will I miss important letters they might send me? Or can I get all that in Cambodia?

    You need to send the signed I93, ds 230 part 1, 2 photos, copy of the first page of the passport. This will get you in line for the an interview date.

    Is it necessary to have the Cambodia ID even with the passport? What is your experience? Lace? Do It Again?

    Just asked Thea and she said right at the door entering the embassy/consulate that they check for the Cambodian ID. No ID no farther.

    Hey Guys-

    Can I use the I-93 checklist from a K-1 pack 3 for a K-3 visa? If not, does anyone have the pack 3 for a K-3 visa that they can e-mail me? Jeff has been super helpful in providing me his pack 3, but I wanted to compare the difference between the two visas. My gut feeling is the information is the same. Thanks in advance.

    Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

    The Packet 3 doesn't mention this but make sure your fiance brings her Cambodian ID along with her passport. I saw one person only had her passport and the embassy made her turn around and get her Cambodian Id. Good luck and bring her home.

    Thanks Lace. Ya it was a shock when I pulled the letter out of the mailbox and opened it up....Thought at first it was pack 3 :D
