Alright.. since he was a new immigrant, what process did he go through when he arrived at the first airport in the USA. What queue did he join, and what forms did he fill online

Hello all I just wanted to share my good news that my fiance has been approved. We started the process at the end of October. I will say that we received our NoA1 fast but part 2 was at least 3 months. And evwen then I had to call the NVC to find out our status and case number. About a few weeks and we received the hard copy. In March I called again and they said that the case was sent to the embassy and I should wait. I understood..... We waited until the end of May to take further steps honestly because we never received any packets or interview. I kept getting mixed messages from some reading of vjers which is all good but a lot was saying that in Ghana you gave to wait for the embassy and you could not schedule your own. Well, as I said by talking with personal friends who have been through the process with a lawyer and another vj member we took a chance by filing the DS-160 and schedule an appointment. I was very nervous because our expiration date was for June 6. I emailed the embassy twice to inform that we would need an extension date. Within that time he traveled back and fourth to Accra. One week he went to get police certificate. He went to Accra because someone told him that he can get it back same day. WRONG! He ended up paying extra to get it faster. In which he did get it in a week. So he picked it up after he went to his medical appointment. Yes you are allowed to schedule that also. So he did that in which it took maybe 4 hours from the time the got there at opening. They told him results would be in the following Monday. Well that was yesterday and his interview was today. So everything had to be done and I thank Jehovah because he has seen us through every step. Because we surely were like lost sheep. He was scheduled for his interview at 7:30. He did not get out until 2 pm I don't have information about the interview yet because I need for him to rest because of long traveling back home. I will say this.....that we met one time last year after a year of dating. Traveled there with my friend. Because of our religion we have friends everywhere and we had a great time. So I shared photos of our worship, hanging out with friends and family etc....it wasn't a lot of photos I believe. I shared lots of WhatsApp conversation. And a lot wasn't just the cute messages, I shared the raw conversations of arguments also. I am a single mother and the only provider and my finances I guess are enough that I didn't need a sponsor. I live very simple. But one thing I was very proud of was because we were not sure if we would ever get approved and we just know that we want to be married so my son and I have a trip planned for next week to see him. But we were prepared for whatever that came our way. So I sent him the itinerary and asked him to out out in the packet. We are very serious about our relationship and if out came that I needed to move there we were happy to do so. I just say be authentic...... False relationship always show its ugly head and do your research. Sometimes I had to Google certain things. If you don't feel comfortable with an answer that you are given don't stop searching for it. Well i think that I have said a lot. Thanks and many best wishes......

Congratulations 🎉 does your husband has his passport with his visa at hand yet? And if yes how long did it take him to get it. Thanks

So my wife and two kids had their interview scheduled at 7.30am at the US Embassy in Accra. They arrived there at 6 but entered the embassy building around 7.45am went through the normal proceedings.

She was first called to submit her documents. Only the medical results, passport pictures, postcards, seasonal cards and passport were taken. The rest of the documents including the DS 260 confirmation page, copy of my GC, birth certificates, marriage certificates, Affidavit of support, W2, 2016 tax transcript were all returned to her.

Second person to call her was a young white lady who asked her to take the oath. after that she asked her if we've ever conducted a DNA test on the kids to confirm paternity of which my wife responded in the negative. The CO then remarked that "the kids look very well like their dad".

She then ask each of my kids what their names were and how old they were for which they all answered. My wife was asked to take a seat and after about 10 mins she was called to window 4.

Then there was a funny young man who came to interview them.

    He asked

    1. When last did you see your husband?

    2. Have you travelled before?

    3. and took the new pictures my wife brought

Then he smiled and said "Welcome to America. Everything is in order and your visa is approved" and handed her the blue sheet and described how she can go and collect her visa from the DHL office. He also handed all the documents i sent to NVC back to her.

In all she says the actual interview took less than 4 minutes.

PS: I actually did front and side load my application at USCIS and NVC so it made it much easier for them.

    Hi,

please how long does it take DHL to deliver passports back to owners?

my visa was issued on 5th July this month and up to now I've not received any call or information from them? Thanks for help in advance

You should go yourself, wait around 2 weeks then check DHL.

They are currently delayed with passport deliveries due to the many holidays and the 4th. Today they were receiving visas issed on the 15th of June.

Alright mine is 5th July... So I guess I have to wait till ending of July.. thanks very much
