Is there any chance of getting your n400 approved if you dont file your last year tax.I have been filing taxes all my life but we missed last year. I am trying to file n400 on marriage based. Has anyone got approved in this situation. I dont have any bad records.
thanks

hi, i was in your situation. i went to infopass, they didn't stamp my expired passport, but they told me that i was still fine till i have 3 years anniversary of green card. by that time they approved my gc. the lady that i spoke with was very nice.she also told me that is a requirement to have your foreign passport valid while you are a permanent resident. (i was already try to have all the paper works for my passport, but my country ask for all the paper works for my husband and after we finish with all the requirements for him, i am able to start mine, like register marriage, child birth, change birth certificates, his divorce, etc. everything will last at least 1 year if i'm lucky . if i knew i was starting this process 3 years ago, but my bad. )
i recommend to you to make an infopass and tell them your problem and i'm sure they will find a way to help you. also you can apply for passport just in case.
good luck and hopefully everything will be smooth for you and everyone is still waiting.
Thank you all for your help. I got approved before i make an infopass appointment. Its been a stressful journey. I hope everybody waiting gets approved very soon. Its just a matter of time. I can feel your stress though.

I called and spoke with a tier 2 officer yesterday. He said our case is being reviewed by an officer so all we can do is wait. Sucks but oh well..
I dont know how long it takes to review the file. They say they going to see our files on the order it is received. I dont think so. Its all luck i guess.

1. They won't stamp an expired passport. When you go to your appointment, bring 2 passport-style photos, and they will create a different document for you.
2. If you're talking about a service request, you can do one after the date on the USCIS website is after your NOA date.
3. No, it likely won't help. Even a service request doesn't usually seem to have any effect.
Thanks for your input.
At this point i can only hope of getting approved before infopass. I wish luck to all of you waiting for approval. Maybe we will get our approval letter today who knows....lol

Thanks ak_2014.
i hope they will stamp on my expired passport. I am just wondering at what point can we do case enquiry online? I dont think calling them will help that much.

The main problem is i didnt file the last year tax. Can i send 13,14 and 15 tax return and send last year w2 ? I dont owe irs any money but just didnt file last year tax. I wish i can file now but irs dont accept filing taxes now. It looks like i am stuck until next year to file citizenship.
Thanks for the perspective
