  1. I called the State Department. The "visa specialist" said that my fiancee should attend the interview where they'll still determine whether she qualifies for the visa (or not). The police report will have to be sent in as soon as she receives it--then there'll be a background check, etc. This could add at least two weeks to the whole process.

  2. All phone calls to the US embassy in Thailand refer the caller to the embassy website.

My fiancee will still go to the interview even without the police report. She'll ask what her options are at that time. That's all that I can really think of...

I hope the cops come through for her/us on Friday. She's just going to sit in the office until they give it to her!

  3. My fiancee requested a police report from the Thai police almost a month ago and the report still has NOT been prepared. They said it would be available on May 29, but it isn't! Her interview is on Monday...without the police report the interview will have to be re-scheduled.

Needless to say we are really stressed and worried right now...

Please cross your fingers for us!

  4. "Intend" refers to a future action. The I-134 is required to prove that the fiance/ee won't become a public charge AFTER arriving in the US (or wherever). Why would they care about how she supports herself in her home country?

I will chose Intend and in the text area below, use what is in the example form:

    What "example form" is that?

  5. Item 11 on the I-134 asks if I "intend" or "do not intend" to "make specific contributions to the support" of my fiancee. I figure that because she will be my wife I will support her for whatever is needed, as most married folks do. If she lives with me am I "furnishing room and board"?

Intend or do not intend, that is the question...

Anyone have any recommendations as to what I can write in this section?

  6. My fiancee received her packet 3 that includes the I-134 form. The instructions didn't make it very clear as to whether the I-134 should be returned to the embassy with the other forms after completion, or if the I-134 should be taken to the interview along w/ the medical report, police report, et al. ??

    Thanks

  7. My fiancee and I talk almost every day through a webcam. It's very strange since we've spent the last 5 years in eachother's company while I was living in Thailand. We've already established a strong foundation during those years, so it's easier (not to say pleasant) being apart in some ways. If you love someone then patience and commitment need to be a part of the relationship. If there isn't that then things won't work, whether short- or long-distance.

  8. >Ah, reading back, it sounds like the request for original signatures (did you send photocopied forms, or did they just mistake real signatures for copies, >maybe?) has pushed you a bit further pack in the pile (so to speak)

I accidentally sent a photocopy of the signature! Kicked myself over that one...

I'm hoping for an NOA2 in mid-January now--but not holding my breath. Once I receive that then I'll have to dive back into Visa Journey to figure out what to do next: all those packets, scheduling an interview, etc...

    Thanks,

    brian

  9. Hello

My Thai fiancee and I submitted the I-129 in mid October 2006--it was returned needing an "original signature"--I resent the document with the "original signature" and then received the NOA1 on November 8th. Now we're waiting on the NOA2 to arrive.

I keep checking our online cases status and it hasn't changed at all.

When I read other posts on here it seems like folks are getting "touched" often, and even receiving the NOA2 within a couple of weeks after the NOA1! Maybe I'm getting paranoid... It is a bit stressful wondering if the K-1 will pan out at all!

I'm newly returned to the US (after almost 6 years in Thailand), looking for work and hoping I can get a job soon so the Affadavit of Support I-134 will actually have someting written on it... Another source of woe right now.

Trying to keep my spirits up!! Good luck to everyone!

A world without borders sounds so wonderful right now!

  10. Hello :D

The US Embassy/consulate in Bangkok requests that my fiancee brings the I-134 with her to the interview.

Since my father will be the "joint sponsor" which form(s) should he fill out? The I-864 and/or I-864A? Perhaps my eyesight isn't very good, but I haven't seen any clear indication as to which form the "joint sponsor" should fill out. :help:

    Thanks in advance!

    Brian
