  1. My Fiance and I have been together for 6 years, but we only got engaged in February of this year. He's been here under an H-1B visa which is set to expire in December. We never really planned on staying here, so we didn't plan on having our wedding until June next year, but his current boss finally made him an offer he can't refuse, so we've decided to stay.

    What are our options?

I'm not opposed to having a quickie marriage, but is that going to be suspicious, and if isn't, how quickly can an AOS be processed? Or, can he stay and work even after the H-1B expires while the AOS is being processed?

Or, can the H-1B be extended? He's already had the H-1B (and OPT) for a total of 6 years, but he was out of the country for 6 months. So, can the H-1B be extended on that basis?

We'll be consulting with an immigration attorney, but I wanted to see what this forum had to say too.

    Thanks in advance.
