Wow, how did you get AP so fast? any tips? I applied AP along with work permit around mid April 18, now the VJ website showing it won't be approved till mid Oct, and every time I'm checking it's keep delaying. I'm devastated, since my husband and I already booked our honeymoon for mid Sep. when I applied AP, i thought we have plenty of time (because suggested time is 90 days), now looks like it's going to be delayed. I'm not sure how accurate is the VJ processing time information is. any suggestions to speed up the process?
thank you very much

Thank you for your input, my parents already tried today at notarial office in China, and they won't change the format, they said it's the unified way to do it.
But yes, I do have my old China passport and the name format is consistent with my China Birth certificate and non criminal records. fingers crossed it will work.
Thanks again.

Hi All:
advise and suggestion is needed. any one has experience on the name format issue.
My passport and all the K1 visa related forms I filled in, name showing as Zheng Yong Yu. But my china birth certificate and none criminal records showing as ZhengYong Yu. The difference is passport has a space between Zheng and Yong, where my china records (birth certificate and none criminal records) doesn't have the space between Zheng and Yong.
would this cause any trouble? my interview is in 2 weeks time. any advise is needed.
Thanks in advance

Hi peeps:
saw your posts back in 2016. I have same confusion, when i try to set up the profile, it showing K1 is under immigrate visa category, just want to make sure I choose the right type.
can anyone confirm?
thanks

thanks, but Australia Federal Police only do police check on legal name, i have nothing to prove my Nick name is used anywhere that is official.

Hi
How are you? I come cross your post back in 2015, I know it's a while back, hope you can share some tips on this nick name situation.
I'm pretty much in the same boat, my friends and colleagues know me of Christy Yu, but cause I born in China, my legal name is Zheng Yong YU.
in DS 160 form, it asked for all the names that you are known off, so i put Zheng Yong Yu (my legal name) as well as Christy Yu (my nick name, my friends know me of).
Do i need to get police check for my Nick name as well? I'm rush for time now, really appreciate if you can share your experience.
thanks

hi everyone, just wondering if someone can give me some advise / confirmation.
I'm very confused about the name information on DS 160 form, it clearly stated that i need to put any name that i have used (others know me of).
Basically my legal name is my Chinese name Zheng Yong Yu, however it's hard for none mandarin speaker to pronounce it, so i made an English name for myself as Christy.
all my friends / colleagues knows me as Christy, however Christy Yu is not a legal name and was not used in any official documents such as passport / divers license / medical card / bank / credit cards etc.
but according to DS 160 instruction I still need to put Christy Yu (almost like a Nick name) in the form.
I'm worried they will ask me to do a police check based on my legal name as well as Nick name Christy Yu, which I'm sure AFP (Australian Federal Police) won't be able to find relevant records that is related to me under this name Christy Yu.
can some one please confirm
1. do i need to put Christy Yu in DS 160 form under other name used?
2. Do I need to do a police check on name Christy Yu (my nick name?)
i found these instruction on police check, mentioned all aliases previously used name need to be included, but I really don't know if my English name (Nick name) counted as aliases name or not?
can some one share some thoughts and advise on this?
Thanks
ou must apply for an Australian Federal Police Certificate (AFP). Australian police certificates are valid for 12 months from date of issuance.
Your certificate can be based on a name check or fingerprint check.
If it’s based on a name check, it must contain all aliases previously and presently used. Failure to provide a name check certificate with all aliases may result in the consular officer refusing your application for a police certificate based on a fingerprint check. -
thanks for clarify these questions.
I originally from China (ie origin is china), but I have given up Chinese citizenship and became Australia citizenship. China doesn't allowed dual citizen.
so i assume i will fill the form with Origin is China.
also on the topic on name, i have a legal name which is used on all my legal documents, including passport, driver's license, medical card, bank statements etc. but i also have an English name which all my friends and colleagues know me of, i suppose i don't need to put this English name in the DS 160 form?
thanks

Hi all:
i have few questions on form DS-160, just wonder if some of you can shine some lights on this.
1. in the form, it ask for National ID number, in Australia, we don't have national ID number, we use driver's license as ID number, do i just put driver's license ID?
2. It also asked if I have ever been issued a US visa, I applied the visa waver program online does this count as a visa?
3. It also asked: do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with US law? - what kind of documentation and which vaccinations they are refer to there? doctor letters?
4. in personal information 2 - country / region of origin (nationality), I assume I need to put my country of birth in this cell even though I am Australia citizen. is that right?
5. in the name section, i have a legal name, also i have an English name (which my friends and colleagues know me of), i assume i need to put this English name in the form as well?
thank you very much

Hi peeps, just wondering if anyone can give some guidance on packet 3 and packet 4. I'm based in Sydney, are packet 3 and 4 all the same for each country?
My understanding is in packet 3, i will need to collect documents like birth certificate, police check, my fiance finance situation and on going proof of our relationship and medical check result etc.
so my questions are:
1. for birth certificate, i don't have original one anymore, I born in china but now is Australian citizen, I have a translated and certified birth certificate from official authorized place in China, but it's not based on original birth certificate from hospital. (the original one from hospital is just a little booklet and words all not clearly anymore).
so would this document sufficient enough for birth certificate purpose?
2. for medical exam, would they tell me in packet 3 which clinic/hospital to book the appointment? what do i need to bring other than my vaccination proof?
3. can someone tell me what's in packet 4?
thank you very much
regards

Hi everyone, just wonder if some one can help with this Australian police check query.
I went to AFP website, under Services - Police/Criminal history checks, it only has service of National police checks, is this the correct one for K1 visa police check purpose?
if so, as i try to apply this check online, in step 2.3 purpose of check, it only has two choices, (1) Commonwealth Employment purpose (2) working in ACT. I can't find any other options. Am I looking at the right place? or I totally off the track. Can some one help me with this one?
I need to apply Australia police check for K1 visa purpose very soon, not sure what to do here.
thank you very much

Mine got delayed again, now it's going to be early Oct. what's the average length of time now to get NOA2?
Are all the June filing estimated NOA2 is in Oct now?
-
we received NOA1 around 2nd June, the on the timeline originally was around 2nd Sep to receive NOA2, now it end of Sep, every time has an update, always delay 1 week.
is this normal? does this happen to every one?

All NOA1s for the I-129F (petition leading to K-1 visa application) only states the country of birth. There's nothing missing from yours. There's no field for citizenship.
Thank you.

Hi guys, just want to know if this is correct, my K1 visa - NOA 1 only has country of birth, doesn't have current citizenship.
my country of birth is china, but now is Australia citizenship. should Citizenship on NOA 1 receipts as well?
Thanks
