Interview in Montreal was fairly straight forward. Lots of waiting around (about 3 hours) but interview itself was just 3 questions:
 
1) What will you be doing in your new job?
2) When was the last time you were in the US?
3) Why are you applying from Canada?
 
Interview took 5mins then was approved.
 
Also had to a sign a piece of paper saying that my Green Card was tied to my job offer and if my job offer was withdrawn, then I could not continue with my application.
 
They asked for my, and my spouses Canadian visa so do make sure you have that if you go to an interview in a country where you are not a citizen. They don't list this on most of the checklists so you need to make sure you have this. They didn't ask me for anything else that wasn't on the checklist.

Home country is Ireland. Thanks for the good wishes! Yes, I was waiting a long time... over a year since case went to NVC. At least it is nearly over now!!

Tujna, how did your interview go? Apologies if you have already said and I've missed it!

Finally received interview notification today. November 22nd. Yay!!!! Finally.... Will be 5 and half months since case complete and almost exactly 12 months since my case made it to the NVC.

I know of one person on the other thread who got a checklist and kept calling and calling until he got a supervisor to agree to review on the phone the additional document he had to submit - and he got an immediate Case Complete then. You could do the same. I had a checklist and gave up trying after a few calls although if I'd known then that it was possible, I would have kept trying.

My lawyer told me I was sending NVC everything I needed but turned out I needed to send them proof of my visa status in Canada which meant I got a checklist and delayed Case Complete by 2 months, which now means I got caught in this EB-2 retrogression delay. Basically I would already have my Green Card and be in the US now if it wasn't for my lawyer giving me bad advice but now it will be October/November at best.
 
So I feel your pain, you would think you could rely on the immigration lawyers to get it right.
 
Looking at the spreadsheet from last year, there was one EB-2 from Canada who had a CC in early July and they received the interview notification at the end of August for October. So at least last year, they seem to have scheduled interviews for October at the end of August even though EB-2 PD was not current. Hopefully they will do the same this year.

Yeah, I've read up on this some more today and it will almost 100% certainly go back to current on October 1st. Do you know if they will schedule interviews before the PD becomes current? This happened last year too so there should be some evidence to see when people in our situation got their interview but I cannot see at the moment.
 
And yes green-line, EB-2 ROW means "Rest of World", not just Canada. Basically any country outside China, the Philippines , India and Mexico.
 
To put a positive spin on it, it looks likely we will get an interview no later than October and even if we had received an interview date today it probably would have been September, so it is hopefully just a 1 month delay. I have been at NVC since December

I think you can get one if you are persistent but usually one is not available. You may have to call 5+ times. Supposedly it is easier to get one early in the morning or late at night.

Again, I really don't hold much water in what reps say since the ones I've talked to seem to be guessing most of the time and have never given me much useful information.
 
I get the feeling that consular processing EB Green cards are a tiny % of the green cards they handle since most EB Green Cards are done with AOS. So when they talk about when they will schedule interviews, they could very well just be talking about family based Green cards which might make up 90-95% of the Green Cards they deal with. We already are pretty sure that EB Green Cards are scheduled separately and the reps I've asked didn't know this so I wouldn't hold much water in them knowing when our EB interviews will be scheduled.

My PD is August 2015 I think. They are retrogressing EB-2 ROW from Current to April 2015 in August. How this makes any sense I don't know...
