  1. thank you for your response. I did have the interview and it went well according to the officer. Proving the legitimacy of our marriage/relationship is not the issue here as we do have a child together. It relates more to the fact that my wife the petitioner lives here with me and not in the US (it is a deliberate choice as we wanted to be together because of our child). We did provide evidence of he permanent relationship with the US and also have a co-sponsor. It has been
A while since the interview (9 months) especially that they took my passport and I wanted to have an update and also provide any further information in order to move on with the process.

  2. Thanks for this answer,

I am applying for the CR1 visa . In some forums, some petitioners said that they went directly to speak to the immigration officer about the case at the consulate. I was wondering how those petitioner who were able to meet up with the immigration officer at the consulate were able to do it. My wife tried to speak to an officer but she was denied and was told instead to send an email (which of course there was no reply).

  3. Hi!

I was wondering if you could tell me how can we able to see CO in order to talk to him? How could we make the appointment?

We were recently at the consulate for another matter (non immigrant related) and my wife who is the petitioner was denied to see anybody from immigration. She was told to write an email, which she did but of course nobody responded to it (just the automated reply).

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    Cheers

  4. Hi everybody.

I have gone through the consular interview it’s been almost a month. It all went well according to the counselor. However at the end, he took my passport for further administrative processing (new Trump process - form ds-5535).

Since then the dates have been updated two times in the case status but no further news was given to me.

I was wondering if anybody had been through this process and if so how long did it take?

    Thanks a lot!

  5. Hi,

We are about to mail our package to NVC but are confused about two specific questions:

    1) for the translated documents, should we submit the original translation or just a copy (knowing that for the embassy we would need to bring the original copy)

    2) Do we also send with the package a photocopy of the passport of our baby (who is a US citizen) and who will be immigrating with us.

thank you very much in advance

  6. Hello community.
I need your advice. My wife is petitioning for me to go with her to the USA. Actually we live together in a foreign country and are both employed there. She does fill out her tax return but reports it as Foreign Earned Income (no W2 but a statement from her employer showing her annual revenues). Should she fill out an I-864 or and I-864EZ (though no W-2).

Thank you very much for your help

  7. Yes, she has been filing taxes. Actually the I130 has been approved. Now at the filling out the I-864 stage.

The sister will be providing the affidavit of support since she is living in the US (both husband and wife do work overseas but are afraid that their resources might get judged insufficiant for sustaining a living in the US, though really they should be sufficient)
