Hi all,
we received an email saying that our case has been documentarily qualified. What does this mean? How long would it take for them to schedule my interview from this point onwards?
-

hi everyone,
We submitted out documents for IR1/Cr1 processing three weeks ago and yesterday we received a reply from NVC stating that I had uploaded my passport in a clock-wise rotated format and a few forms are missing from our joint sponsor and my primary sponsor's Transcript is missing for 2017. We will submit everything requested today.
My question is: are they going to take another 3-6 weeks after we submit these docs or this time it's gonna be less?

I don't know how big of a mistake that would be considered, but if the application is an online version, you might be able to access it and edit it/update it. Perhaps email the consulate?
Can't edit that after submission

I made a little typo mistake in my ds 261. They asked if i had ever been denied a US visa, i replied yes and they needed an explanation for that. In that explanation i by mistake stated that it was in 2016 I wanted to visit for my first child's birth but officer said i have applied in the wrong visa category. This actually happened in 2017. How big of a problem this can be? it's an honest mistake

If you go to the NVC April Filers thread, you will read all about those of us who filed in April. If you follow the thread diligently, you will see how I got the number of days for case complete
hahah thanks. Could you please share the link to the thread you're referring to?

Pivot case = electronic submission
thank you so much for sharing the knowledge. Much appreciated
Anyone else with the latest experience ?

They are really fast now. Pivot cases take between 1 and 7 working days usually for case complete. As for interview date, I know they schedule in the first and last weeks of each month, but exactly when your interview date is depends on your embassy's load.
hey, thanks for your response! Could you please, elaborate on a pivot case ? I exactly don't know what a pivot case is.

10 months ago? Are you sure they didn't send a request for more information that you either didn't receive or you didn't respond to? That is well beyond the normal processing time. You should try to contact them or get a Congressperon/Senator involved because something seems very wrong here.
EDIT: I believe cases expire after 1 year at NVC if you haven't responded to a request by them.
Hi,
No, 28th june is the date that our case was recieved by USCIS. Our case got transferred to NVC around January and we received NVC case number on 10th of April. Now we are to submit the documents electronically. So my question is how long would it take for NVC to process them and send us an interview date. -
Hi,
Just wanted to know that how long does it take for NVC to schedule an interview after documents submitted electronically. Our priority date was on 28th of June, 2017.

Check this out. This will show you the trends of the processing times per service center (Step 2 in the link). You'll notice, the TSC (Texas service center) is currently processing the i-130's in 137 days (4.57 months).. But the CSC (California service center) is currently processing the i-130's in 251 days (8.36 months)...
http://www.visajourney.com/content/ir1cr1historical
Then you head off to the NVC. (Step 3:) in the link.
Currently taking 138 days to process (4.6 months)
Then get your interview. (Step 4in the link
34 days.
Total processing time (average of all processing centers)
354 days..
Best case scenario for those who got processed through the TSC processing center..
Processing incoming mail/assigning case number. 8 days
TSC 137 days
NVC 138 days
To get visa 34 days
Total 317 days 10.56 months..
-- of course all this could change depending on the amount of applicants they receive.. for Example, when i applied back in August, we ended up in the NSC, they were saying 5 months processing time.. but it ended up being 7 months.. (this is shown on the graph). Must have been a huge increase in applicants..

I have been waiting for a very long time for my relative to get an immigrant visa. Now there is a family emergency and I need my relative to immigrate soon to the U.S. Can NVC help me?If a visa is available for your relative’s category, and their case involves a life or death medical emergency, processing of your case may be expedited. To request a review for expedite, please submit a letter (or statement) to the NVC from a physician (or medical facility). The letter must include the physician’s (or medical facility’s) contact information, and declare a life or death medical emergency exists. This documentation may be in the form of a scanned attachment to an e-mail.
If a visa is not available, unfortunately there is nothing that the NVC can do to expedite the petition. Immigrant visa processing is governed by the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, as amended, which controls availability of visas. There is no provision within the law that would allow the Department of State to issue a visa to someone for whom a visa is unavailable.
this was really helpful. thank you so much

Just looking at some old timelines will give you an idea. You can filter by the country and service centers too!
so we have chance at 9 months given i have straight record , well educated , working for a US registered firm and have lived in one house since my birth and have never traveled abroad .

Plan on visiting your wife . This will help... .. you have a long road ahead.. just pulling the paperwork together will take time.. Good luck.

Just apply asap and hope you get the fastest service center. Make sure the paperwork is all set and current wait time is between 9 months to an year. Good Luck!
how can you say 9 months ? is it backed by some solid fact or just a number

Best of luck! Trust me, there are a ton of people here on VJ in your exact situation (separated, wife is pregnant, long waiting times for visas, etc.) This is a good place to come sometimes just to realize you're not alone. I hope your wife has some support in US to help her.
I wish our country had DCF

We're all in the same boat and you unfortunately can't dictate them if it's too long or not. Regardless of the fee, it's their rules and you can either accept them or not. To tell more, it might be longer if USCIS and/or NVC is overloaded later this year.
yeah you're right! so she should apply without wasting anymore time

I don't know all the ins and outs of AP but you might move through it very quickly. It's way down the road in your process anyway so I wouldn't worry about it too much for now.
I'm not sure about it being processed within 6 months. Where did you hear that? Usually just for the I-130 alone it takes 4-5 months. You need to plan for a year minimum. This is unfortunately just how it is.
yeah. i hope she stays strong thanks for your help
-

6 months is only for the first stage that is USCIS. Add another 4-5 months for the NVC stage and consulate processing.
that's way too long given that they charge a fee as well for this process.

About 12-14 months if a citizen, two years if she's an LPR. There's no speedy way unfortunately and you will almost definitely not be there for the birth of your child. Could she come to Pakistan for the remainder of her pregnancy?
She cant travel now. she is a citizen i hope it doesnt take longer than that. i heard that it can get processed in 6 months as well
