  1. I'm not even sure if we'll receive a letter to confirm the interview date and packet 4 on time. Assuming all goes well, my wife will be going alone and doesn't plan on picking up the visa. If anyone has gone thru the Rio Consulate, could you provide us with some info?
    • Visa payment at Citibank - What do we need in order to process the payment? Acct number, etc?
    • Can Rio send the visa via mail after the interview? If yes, what needs to be done?
    • Any other tips?

    THANKS!!! :star:

    Congratulations on the interview date.

To pay the fee, she'll need to go to any Citibank with her RDJ #

The visa can be mailed to her, she'll be asked if she wants them to do so

Tell her to stay calm and say the truth. remember, sometimes the CO might make some upseting questions, but he/she is only doing their job, take them lightly.

    Good luck

  2. Hey guys! We got the visa!!!!

CONGRATS ROSANA AND LUKE! It sounds like you guys had a similar experience to ours. I too was glad I went because the people who went in alone before us came out with red slips. The Con Off was kind of a jerk and made a big deal out of a lot of little things. He was probably doing his job, but it was scary. He accused Rey of lying on his J1 visa paperwork and tried trick him into saying he didn't dislose information (but luckily we were able to disprove that). I was fairly sure we were denied til he got out the green slip.

    Now what happened with Marcela?

Yay! Alex and Rey, congratulations!

Juizo, mas não muito, hein?

  3. We got the visa same after some problems at the interview. The consul was very hard and tried very much to confuse us. We will post in the review. I think if Luke was not here I would face a stressfull interview.

We saw Rey, Alex and Marcela at the consulate and will let them share their news with you.

    we are very happy

We thank you so much for all your support and this thread.

    Great news!

Hope you have a bit of a "pre-honey moon" here and a nice flight back to the US, you three. (F)

  4. Got an email from the consulate today stating they scheduled my interview for March 2 :dance:

I know that there are a few of you going through the Rio consulate who are having trouble with them responding. I've always got an answer from them (even if it took them a week to do so...). I never called them, all comunication was made through emails.

Good luck to everybody out there.

  5. Mousse de Uva

    6 claras em neve

10 colheres de sopa de açúcar

1 pacote gelatina em pó sem sabor

1 vidro de suco de uva (meio litro)

1/2 lata de creme de leite sem soro

    Molho:

  6. The Best Patients

Five surgeons are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on.

The first surgeon says: "I like to see accountants on my operating table, because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered."

The second responds: "Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color-coded."

The third surgeon says: "No, I really think file clerks are the best; everything inside them is in alphabetical order."

The fourth surgeon chimes in: "You know, I like construction workers. Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end, and when the job takes longer than you said it would."

But the fifth surgeon shut them all up when he observed: "You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, and no spine, and the head and tail are interchangeable."

[author unknown, but probably a Washington surgeon]

  7. Jane, you answered 22 out of 30 questions correctly!

Congratulations! Your score is in the 87th percentile. This means that if one hundred people took the test with you, your score would rank higher than 86 of them on average.

When we analyzed your test, we also discovered that when it comes to linguistic-mathematical ability, you measure in the 100th percentile. This score indicates you have unusually strong abilities when it comes to understanding numerical representation in words or "word problems." You're highly proficient at translating words into numbers. This can be very useful when solving a problem in real life. When people are discussing a vague problem that needs a specific solution, you're able to cut through the extraneous information to a clear answer.
