Hey! My husband had his interview on Sunday and they updated his case on that day and then again today, were there many updates on the CEAC site when you were waiting for your husband's case or did they start doing updates when they were getting ready to issue his visa? Also, how long after the updates did they issue it to you? And about how many updates did they make?

So for my parents, they had a lot of updates first few days. Then a week and half later my dad's case was updated and visa issued. My mom on the other hand was updated with no visa issued. From June 15 to July 23 they recently updated her case. So I am not really sure if there is a set date or time but everyone's case is different.

I understood that aswell. That a foreign national with a US relative can obtain a visa and travel as normal.

But that begs the question, who does this "modified version" affect? It's not like just anyone was able to travel to US before? IDK, in my opinion I see the vetting process becoming more intense and lasting longer.

"An American individual or entity that has a bona fide relationship with a particular person seeking to enter the country as a refugee can legitimately claim concrete hardship if that person is excluded,” the court wrote. “As to these individuals and entities, we do not disturb the injunction. But when it comes to refugees who lack any such connection to the United States, for the reasons we have set out, the balance tips in favor of the Government’s compelling need to provide for the Nation’s security.”

Basically it should not affect anyone who lives in the USA whose bringing in a relative I guess. It might affect those trying to seek visas otherwise like lottery visa, student visa, and so forth. No one really knows but I just hope our families come in soon!

    Mid march

So I actually have been doing a few cases for multiple people around this time and assisting a friend with her spouse case. The pattern that I see is the date you receive that email that your case is complete, you have to wait roughly 6 weeks before you receive an email  about the interview date and time (which is usually 6-8 weeks from the interview letter date). If it has been over 2 months since your case has been complete, there is something wrong and you need to contact NVC. If you know anyone who needs help with their case and they are considering a lawyer to get their papers in order, let me know I will do it for free so I can get Ajer from their duaa lol. I have done about 10 cases to date, start to finish. InshAllah everyone's loved ones come in as soon as possible.

Have you ever seen their status as "Ready?"

I have not. They are supposed to but my dad just picked up his passport today with the Visa stamped and they didn't call him or chnage the status to ready. His status was Issued for a week so he decided to go check up on it and they gave it to him. Now for my mom, they said she is still under Administrative Processing. That is soo weird, they interviewed together and their cases was supposed to be "linked". I guess the waiting game continues.

All these cases of Administrative Processing are not all literally administrative processing. Me myself when I was dealing with the embassy in Sana'a, when it was at its prime running smoothly, we had our interview and the visa pick up date was 7 weeks after that interview date.

For whatever reason it always takes them a while to print the visas and sort them out. Hang in there guys, you're almost there.

I dont know why but I always have a different experience. My cousin waited 6 weeks in Sana'a but as for when I was doing paperwork for someone else, they came back within 5 days to receive their passport.

From my personal experience, the whole "Administrative Processing" on the ceac site is a bunch of BS. They have to change the status right after the interview, and the only 3 options are "AP"(Administrative Processing) or "Visa Issued." (Or "Visa Denied" but that's not the case here)

They change it to "Visa Issued," only when the visa is printed.

So I believe, and I could be wrong, your moms status will change soon when they print her visa. I don't think they would put your mom through more extensive checks and not your dad. Keep us posted.

Yeah for sure. As of today she is still under AP. Last update on both cases was June 15, 2017. One changed to Visa Issued and one remained Administrative processing. The only options they have is AP, Visa Issued, Ready, or Visa Denied. I would love to have them here for Eid if possible but inshallah they come up with something fast. I will let yall know the updates.

I do not. My spouse came in back in 2014 when the embassy was still open in Sana'a. However I'm the agent of choice for some family members cases where 2 have gotten case complete and 1 is still waiting for it. Your the only one here with such a short wait time from case complete to interview date. Everyone else waited about 6 months. Now I'm confused. 🤔 I wonder what's the difference between your parents cases and everyone else's.

    الدعاء ينفع.

No I'm really good with my paperwork all organized and neat with paper clips from Day1. Maybe that's why. I usually have the stuff ready before they ask for if. I am proactive about it.

My experience is if you have all your paperwork in order, nothing is missing or wrong, you will be granted a visa. Not to say that they don't put people in administrative processing for no reason, but don't give them a reason too.

When did your parents get case complete?

Also, please don't call your parents geizers. 😬

Their case was complete in February. They are my sweet old geizers <3. Do you have an interview pending at the Djibouti consulate? Their papers are in order with nothing missing, inshAllah khayr!

    Thanks for the response.

they just updated it on the uscis website saying its been received. but I also got a bunch of emails saying request for evidence response review.

So you guys I have done so many cases for USCIS believe it or not they should've made me an immigration lawyer lmao. Anyways a little trick from your Yemeni sis... when you call the 1-800-375-5283 number, all they can do is regurgitate whatever you see online on the USCIS website. If you want additional information or if it has been too long since they did anything, call and when they answer you tell them that you called earlier and they transferred you to a higher level supervisor or what not and the line just got disconnected and they will transfer you to another line where they actually have some information besides whats online. Talk to them. But yeah sometimes they have delays in updating the USCIS information.

    God bless & Good Luck!

Okay. I hear women get theirs faster as in the same week. But men take longer. I was told a lot of men who have been waiting a month just received their visas.

Umm are we going to have to play the she's ill card to hurry up the process. Like I understand if its like a guy from 16-50 they need to do additional security check, but when they are an geezer couple like jeez let them go. In Sha Allah khayr!!! I will keep y'all updated.

My aunt and brother in law had an appointment the same day and she got her visa and is already here for a week and he's still waiting g

My mom & dad are like in their late 50s early 60s, do you guys think they will approve my mom first? I hope they let the geizers go cause they don't like Djibouti one bit. Their interviews are at the end of May.

My spouse had an interview early May. Visa was approved. Now, my spouse is under administrative processing. How long will this take? Anybody heard of Yemenis getting their visa after a month or less in Djibouti since 2017?

Oh goodness my mum and dad have their interviews at the end of May. I hope they don't have to wait and spend Ramadan in Djibouti, that would suck. Let me know what happens with your spouse and how long it takes. Thanks!
