  1. Im a US citizen about to start the process of filing for my parents. My dad is 82 and my mum 75. They are both in the United States on a B1 B2 visa visiting me. I was thinking of doing the application while they were here. I'm not sure whether I can do the I-130 and I-485 simultaneously or the I-130 must be approved before I can file the I-485. They have a 5 year multiple entry visa and the I-94 is good for another 5 months. Will filing both shorten the process since I've heard that it may take over a year to have both the I-130 and I-485 approved? And what would the cost be for the process.

Off the topic question. Will they be able to qualify for Obamacare if the process is complete before open enrollment in January?

  2. Ok this might be the millionth time this has been asked but I'm at a complete loss not knowing what to do. My parents are here on a B1-B2 visa and I was thinking of filing a green card for them. I read that since they are here legally I can file a I-130 and I-485 simultaneously. I do not know what the process entails. Do I file the, together or separate. And how much would it cost per person for the filing? My dad is over 80 years old would he need biometrics? Are there disqualifying health factors based on age? I also read somewhere that it would be advisable to wait for 60 days before I file. Please someone advise.

  3. I don't know, my lawyer told me that i will have 2 interviews, one for the marriage, and one for the AOS. I don't know if he knew what he was saying/

Also another question. I never filed taxes this year since i was not working, and when my wife filed taxes, she filed as single. Is this going to be a problem with the interviewing officer? Otherwise all of our documents are in order, including vet bill statements for our cat.

  4. Hi guys, sorry ive been lost for a while. Now my paperwork finally went through, after a long long time. My G/C has not been approved and i'm going for my marriage interview next week.

My lawyer told me that they will conduct both interviews at the same time, the marriage one and the G/C one. Should i be worried?

Also i would like to know if i can get a list of possible questions that they may ask at the interview. Thnx

  5. Hi everyone.

I came to the US on a B1/B2 visa which has since expired. I am engaged to a beautiful lady and we are planning to get married later this month. She understands my situation and is willing to help me with all the paperwork once we do that. The problem is that i have no clue as to what to do next. I just had a couple of questions.

    1. Is there going to be a problem in filing because my visa has expired?

    2. Should i consult an immigration attorney once i get married?

    3. How soon should i start filing after i get married, as i am afraid to rouse any suspicion from them.

    4. What documents do i need to file first?

    5. How long is the process going to take.

Pls help. I am tormented by coming forward as i think maybe the USCIS will deny my application because i have overstayed.
