  1. Hello!

So hopefully has had this problem and give me an advice.

My mom and I completed form I-751 about 5 months ago. I was listed under dependent children in her application (I'm 19 years old)

Few months later she got her NoA i-797 but I did not ( the receipt only had her name). I tried to look on the internet if that was normal, and concluded that some families do receive them and others do not. For those that did not, the NoA applied for both the main beneficiary (in this case my mom) and the dependants that were listed in the i-751.

My problem is this: I just got hired for a new job and I need to show that I'm authorized to work (i-9 requirements ). I do not how to show that because my green card is expired, my social security is restricted  ( I went to get a new social security card but they told me I can't use my mother's NoA because my name is not explicitly stated ). I called to the National Costumer service Center and told me that in fact I should have gotten an NoA for myself, somehow they just forgot to mail it, I do not know, they even gave the receipt number for my NoA, but I don't know if that's important . They told me to get an i-515 stamp, but just getting an appointment it's impossible , at least in Houston, I have  been checking the website these past 2 weeks like crazy (from 6am to midnight). They are not that helpful answering these type of questions.

    My questions :

Does my mother's NoA work for the i-9 , since it's supposed to cover both of us ?

Are employers allowed to take that NoA, even though it does not say my name ?

If somebody had a similar case, could you share your experience?
