I am from India and we have applied for k1 visa too...In my BC, I dont have my name either...I think it shouldnt matter. you can provide your voter ID card or school registration certificate just in case they want to see any supportive documents.

I am not sure about this. Its just openion. You can call up to Consulate to get the proper information.

So i have to write the consulate name Mumbai in I-129F form ? Its really surprising that Calcutta consulate doesnt deal with k1..

Questions relating to police certificates whilst they are related to the visa, are interview related questions as that is the stage they are needed for and thus should be posted in the Foreign Embassy forum.

A good rule of thumb is to think of it in 3 stages.......1) USCIS service centers (questions relating to the initial petition should be posted in the K-1 forum)......2) NVC (questions relating to the petition at NVC should be posted in the NVC forum).......3) Consulate (questions relating to the interview, individual consulates, police certificates, I-134, medical etc should be posted in the Foreign Embassy Forum).

wait till your application is approved because you do not need the Police clearance till the ur case is sent to the India US Embassy.

My Fiance just got her Police clarence after our case got approved by the CSC. Now we just wait for our case to get to the NVC then to the Delhi Embassy.

I have seen a question in I-129F form. In question #16, they are asking for fiancee's name and address in her native alphabet. She uses her own native alphabet. Is that necessary to write that there ? Pls help.

we are going to apply for k1 visa next week. We were supposed to apply that to nebraska centre but we heard they only deal with k3 visa. they are trasferring all k1 cases to california centre. can anyone tell us to which cetre we should apply for k1 visa ? we are confused. pls help.
