Hi, we have filed for a SSN for my wife (waiting 2 weeks after her arrival) but she was not in the database and they advised they would have to manually verify her information. She arrived on a K-1 Visa and we would like to get the AOS process started ASAP as we were married a week ago. Since she has not received a SSN yet can we still go ahead and file for the AOS or will we have to wait till her SSN is issued? Thanks!

Hi all, we were approved on 12/20 for the K1 Visa and received the visa in the mail on 12/21. My question now is when my fiance arrives to the USA and she applies for the social security number will she be given a number that day or what is the wait time on that. Also since when you get a marriage license you usually fill in the person's social security number, would you just leave this blank and provide this information after the wedding to update the files at the courthouse? I'm curious because my fiance is arriving on 1/15 with the wedding on 1/20.

Hi guys, just wanted to let yall know I just got off the phone with the NVC and they stated they had my case and provided a case #. The lady stated it hadn't been mailed yet, but I expect it'll be mailed within a day or two. Hopefully this provides a little hope for anyone still waiting in the 4 week range

Just got an email back from NVC, still no information
-
Coincidence?
Yesterday I faxed a copy of my NOA2 over to the NVC so that one of the reps can look into it. I faxed it over around lunch time to her. Later that evening (around 10 pm et) I called the NVC and guess what? They had my case and I received my case number from NVC.
So, at least this part is completed.
I plan on calling again this afternoon. Assuming they dont' have my case how did you convince the lady to look into the case further for you. I'd appreciate any tips you can give for my upcoming call this afternoon. Thanks!

I'm right there with you. I think I will write a letter to my congressman tonight as well and send it on over. CSC is just so unorganized.
-
How did you find out when your case left CSC, they will never give me any info. I just called NVC and they still dont' have my case... this makes me want to swear and throw things... lol

We are in the same boat. I haven't called yet today though, gonna call in about 10 minutes on my lunch break. It is VERY frustrating to see people with approval dates after us already having their cases sent to the embassy....

Nevermind, I'm an idiot and shouldn't post early in the morning. Thanks!

The National Visa Center has received your inquiry regarding WACxxxxxxxxxx. After searching our records, no information was found regarding this case. Please contact U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS- formerly known as INS) to verify the status of this petition.
What exactly does this mean. Does this just mean they have it but haven't processed into their system yet? Who should I contact next to get more information? Thanks!

Congrats. Glad to see another couple going through Madrid embassy!

To the person who requested I update my timeline.... DONE.

I just got an approval 1 minute ago.
This case has been approved. On September 27, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours.

They received my RFE reply..... haha

I'm praying I get mine this week. Our timelines are very similar. They received my RFE response on the 26th and a touch today on the 27th. If ours follows the path of yours, could the 28th be the day?!!!
-
Nope I used the old form.

On September 15, 2006, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 30 days have passed and you have not received the notice. Please contact the service center where you submitted your application during business hours.
I know alot of juners have been getting this but it looks like I'm getting mine soon too! I'm june 21st so this should give a little hope to the late juners and july people too.

Same here, no touches since NOA1 and now a touch on 9-13 and again today on 9-14. Come on RFE.

They definately are working on June. I got a touch today. Hopefully RFE and approval are around the corner!

I filed in June and have a receipt date of the 21st for my NOA1. No touches or updates since then Hopefully something soon?
Translated Birth Certificate
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

My wife and I are getting ready to file for the AOS, but we must have her Birth Certificate translated into English from Spanish per the submitting rules. Since we are well versed in Spanish and English can we do the translation ourselves and simply have it notarized?
Thanks!
