This is true. When I went in my interview I had to take all the original and you have to mail all the original stuff to your parents.
So I send over my US passport as well? This seems so ridiculous and unnecessary to me.

Did she say what she needed them for?
For the interview

So my mom says she will need my original documents for her process. Am I really expected to mail her all my original certificates, passport, naturalization certificate etc? I find it hard to believe but can't find info

I just realized that it's been 2 months but I haven't received a NOA1 yet. Is this normal?

Get it from both countries, primary and where they used to live. I speaking from personal experience we were asked to provided a criminal record clearance from other country even it was 20 years ago.
Thanks!

Yes, it will ask you to submit required documents. Generally police clearance is requested.
Does the criminal record have to be from the current country of residence or any other places where a person used to live?

Does anyone know if it's appropriate for a parent with pending application to travel on ESTA?
Also, do I understand this correctly: they only accept Pfizer, Moderna or JnJ for Covid vaccination?

Joining you guys. Do you know how to add a new process to the profile for sharing and tracking?

I have a permission from him for as long as the child is minor, but it's for travelling abroad only.

Hey there everyone.
I'm also wondering whether or not I should ask my x to make an agreement for our daughter to move to the US permanently in advance.
If anyone knows about it could you please share that information.
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone. So we got our case approved and the interview scheduled for July 11th, Moscow. But the instruction on the official nvc website says we need to schedule the appointment ourselves. I'm confused am i supposed to set the appointment or is it already done?
Thanks in advance

So you will do a money order then and send the receipt to them by mail or what did they ask precisely? Don't forget to write your infos on a separate piece of paper and include in the mail. Case number, name, dob etc. Goodluck.
They just said if you can't pay online that's the only option here. They could have merged the cases, but because my daughters is now ir-2 they can't. I asked my husband to call once again today to make sure there's no way to avoid mail pay.

Ok it opened on laptop by here's what it says

Thaaanx ) that's good news

Thank you guys! Looks like we're back to our process now.
We attacked NVC with emails, mail and even phone calls. They only want us to pay $325 IV fee for me. Somehow, it didnt expire for my daughter, AOS 120 as well, and they confirmed that and now the PAY button on my account is active again.
The only thing that is unclear now, it's been more than 2 years since me and my husband got married back in 2016. And I guess that's why CR-1 status on my daughters page switched to IR-1. But on my account it's still CR-1.
Do you think we should call them or just pay and it's gna somehow change automatically?
And if so, does that mean we wont have to pay for I-751? Did we actually save the money? lol
Thank you in advance. So excited all the sudden.

Thanks! We are going to upload all our documents, pay fees, complete forms in the next few days via CEAC and hope his visa interview will be scheduled for July, only 3 months away! Yes, the I-130 petition approvals are taking longer and longer, ours was approved in 7 months after filing, then it took another 2 months for the file to reach the NVC and get a case number assigned. All the best.
You sound so motivated. Well, I really wish you luck with that, it's just different here and we're tired of all that stuff. But I guess we should mail nvc this week and see what they say and if we continue the process.

We're VERY excited because today we just got our NVC case number so now we are about 3 months away from the visa interview! We submitted the I-130 petition 9 months ago. Good luck with your journey.
9 months omg, i thought 6 was way more than we could handle. Good luck you guys too

From an approved petition at NVC to interview abroad and visa in hand is typically only about 5 months. So if you both want to move back to the US, reply to the letter today and finish the process that you started. Do a lot more research here on Visa Journey about the NVC process, some get confused by it, but it is really not that complicated if you study all the requirements carefully and do exactly what they say. Prepare your documents, when you get an NVC case number (or do you already have an NVC case number?), pay your fees online, upload the documents, and wait for the interview to be scheduled. Pretty simple. The NVC website is the best place for current information on everything, including sponsors, co-sponsors, establishing US domicile and US-based income, etc. Your husband may have to move to the US before you in order to satisfy some of the requirements, also file US income tax returns with the IRS for the last three years if he hasn't done that, based on his world-wide income. You can both do this if that's what you want. Do your research, then come here with specific questions that you can't find answers for or need clarification on. The long petition approval part is over for you, the rest of the process is only about 5 months, only 3 months if you already have an NVC case number. Good luck!
Thanks a lot

It is going to take time to finish the NVC and Interview. You can enter the US within 6 months of the medical. You can also travel right away with the spousal visa - in case you need to go back to Russia.
Well, I'd expect at least 6 months for my husband to finish the process. I did my best before nvc step and we got approved, but i know nothing about filing us taxes, i don't think i can help a lot with joint sponsorship either.

Trump is closing all USCIS offices abroad. DCF will not be an option soon.
Once again, when do you intend to immigrate? That will inform whether you should continue the current case with yearly communications or just abandon it.
It's sad.
Like I said there's no rush but we def wouldnt want to go through the entire process again. I'd like to have some months to get stuff done, but I guess if we continue we have plenty of time because all this tax filing and joint sponsor stuff seems a long and complicated process.

If you are CR1/IR1 then you can work right away. Only K1 waits for a EAD.
6 minutes ago, tsabbas said:With the immigrant visa, you can start work immediately upon entering the US. The immigrant visa you get through DCF is no different than the one you get going through the NVC, it's just a different process. They both result in an immigrant visa which becomes a green card upon entry to the US.
Oh really. I guess somehow I got it wrong, we should reconsider finishing our process if possible.
Thank you, everyone

in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
Well, my mom says all original documents associated with the case. I had my naturalization certificate and US passport scans attached to the case online. Hence, the question. Case is complicated by the fact that she lives in Russia and all the mailing services between the two countries are suspended due to sanctions. She's also a German citizen so we might need to mail stuff over to friends in Germany, then have them bring it to Russia whenever they come visit. It's just weird to me why she's expected to have my documents, what if I need them myself for other reasons (my education, employment, incoming newborn paperwork, etc)? Mail gets lost, gets stuck somewhere, takes forever sometimes despite paying for expedited services.
Did they ask for any of it during the interview?
