  1. Thanks everyone for the support . . . we are definately planning on spending time at the Casino in Montreal . . . and are making a trip out of it - staying at the Hyatt for a few days - taking in the sights.

Anyone in Monreal and can give an update on the weather? Being from Florida, I'd love to see some snow!

  2. My husband's a Newfie as well . . . Born & raised in St. John's, but knows the whole island well. I was the typical american - when we met I said "you are from newfin-where?" But after one visit - I fell in love with it and all the B'ys from there.

  3. Hey Billsgirl - we'll see you at the consulate! My husband's K3 appointment is the 27th. I've gone over all our paperwork about 50 times - and I swear I'll still show up missing something, or have made some stupid mistake filling out a form.

  4. Hey everyone, my husband just called and he got his interview letter - K3 visa in Montreal - November 27th!!!

Montreal had received Checklist and stuff back on September 18th. (Mailed Sept. 11) So its only been one month to receive notice, and it will be 2 1/2 months from receipt to Interview

Hope this gives you hope your letters will come soon! Relief is sooooo sweet!

  5. I understand that there are rules and regulations regarding if a child is under 21 or if a child is over 21. So yes, time is of the essence. God is blessing you by giving you an interview date!

HOWEVER. . . We are law-abiding people, we have filled out our forms, made copies, had medicals, got record checks, paid our fees, and are waiting in line, and cried every night because there is only so much you can tolerate during this process.

And it eats me alive when I go to the grocery store and I see all the illegal immigrants with every child, sibling, parent, whoever, together not speaking a single word of english, making a life for themselves in this country.

  6. Sometimes VJ makes me happy. Other times I really wish I didn't read it. Talk about BullS*#%! At least some of you have children. I haven't seen my husband long enough to begin the children making process.

No offence personally to you, but a child's 21 birthday will allow you to have an expedited date????? Come on! I could write a 21 page essay on all the extremely important reasons why our date should be expedited! And I'm sure everyone else posting here has valid reasons as well.

All our lives are on hold. It is a financial, emotional, and physical strain on us all. Being a "newlywed" has been the worst experience ever.

  7. As a USC with my husband in Canada - these are my favorites he's always enjoying that I can't have! (but LOVE) Canadian-Chineese Food, Fries & Gravy, Tim's Honey Crulers, Stronger beer, Pizza Delight, Irving Food, Moose, oh my list could go on and on!

Here's a "custom" that I would like Americans to adopt - removing your shoes when you enter a house. I found it strange at first, but now I wish everyone removed their shoes when they come to mine!

  8. This is such a roller-coaster ride! But at least I'm not alone. I just wonder why the government makes us all jump through these hoops? Just because the person I fell in love with was born in another country (that borders the one I live in!) why do we have to be treated like this?

And talk about unfair - if they mail us the appointment letter 3 weeks before the interview . . . talk about an expensive plane trip! Don't they realize that you can't use Airmiles that quickly! My husband is in Newfoundland and I'm in Florida! Talk about expensive filghts to/from Montreal!!!!

  9. Hey all - not sure if this is being discussed anywhere else . . .

I am in the "waiting room" for an interview date for a K3 in Montreal.

Yesterday I got the letter in the mail that tells me to send my $70 (and varius confusing forms) to the NVC to start my CR1 option . . .

Yes, the CR1 would be better so my husband can work right away . . .

but any idea how much longer that should take????

Anyone gone through the CR1 in Montreal vs. the K3?

  10. Hey all - not sure if this is being discussed anywhere else . . .

    Yes, the CR

  11. Does anyone know if there is a difference in waiting time for interviews of K3 or K1?

Also, does anyone know how long to expect to wait to hear (get a letter) when your interview will be? If I at least had a letter saying 2-3 months I'd feel a bit better . . .

For now its just pure agony :crying:

  12. Add me to your list of waiting for an interview date in Montreal. My husband and I are having a really hard time with this waiting thing! After months of paperwork, $$, this notice, that notice, questions on what do we do next, etc. etc. We are drove nuts! The post office sent us notice that Montreal received our Checklist and first part yesterday - I am praying that they can process it quickly and at least send us something to give us hope again!
