Hello Guys, It's Cláudio here..
We began the process on January 20, 2017. We received NOA1 on February 9, 2017. Since then, the status of our case has been "Case was received". We have not yet received NOA2. Today is the 111th day of waiting, me and my fiance Bill are starting to get anxious. We hired an attorney in New York to assist us in this process, which gave us all guidance as to what should be done to avoid solicitation for further evidence. We did everything correctly, but our case has not yet had a position. The average waiting time has been 95 days. We are beginning to wonder why ours has taken 111 days already. Does it have anything to do with our age difference our for we be a gay couple?
We can't wait for finally be together..
<3 hehe
Hi Bill and Claudio! My case status still said "received" when I got my NOA2. I already have a case number and the petition was already transferred to the US Embassy in Manila and it still says "received"! Lol I would advise you to check your mail, as most of the January filers got their NOA2 without the website updating our statuses. And no, it's not because of your age difference. Hang in there pal!

How long does it take to get to the consulate? I called NVC today and they said my case was sent to the consulate yesterday. & on ceac it says, in transit. Does anyone know? Thanks.
From what I've read on here, it takes 3-5 business days for the petition to reach the consulate as the NVC uses DHL. You're one step closer to approval, so congrats!🎉

Anyone with an approval date of May 10th got their NVC case number? people around that date?
Mine got approved on May 5th. I called NVC yesterday (May 22nd) and the person I talked to provided the case number assigned to my petition and also said my petition was forwarded to them on May 19th.

Sounds good. I think I'll do the same.
Hey RMaria, my NOA1 date is also January 30, the petition got approved on May 5 and I got my approval notice on May 13. However, it still says "case received" on the USCIS website. Hope you get your approval letter soon

Newbie on this forum but a long-time lurker, and I'm stoked the petition I filed for my (same-sex) partner finally got approved. I was getting frustrated and losing hope because my case should've been approved by May 3-10. I thought my case had been sitting for 104 days. Weirdly enough, my approval notice came in the mail today and it got approved on May 5 (95 days from NOA1). Thanks to all who advised us to check our mails. 😊 Good luck and I hope for approvals for those who are still waiting to come soon.

Phone was autocorrecting
My fiancé had his interview today, June 26 and he was at the Manila embassy for roughly 3 hours. There were only 3 questions the immigration officer asked him. I was told the officer was a middle-aged Caucasian man who was intimidating but nonetheless nice and he speaks Tagalog too! His questions were:
1. So you two met while you were in nursing school. Why did your fiancé just file this petition recently when you started dating in 2002? (FYI, we broke up in 2011 after being in a long-distance relationship for 7.5 years and before DOMA was deemed unconstitutional so I did not file a petition back then, but that's another story).
2. Where does your fiancé work?
3. Any wedding plans? (He just showed the email correspondence between me and the wedding coordinator since the wedding will be in Vegas and only my and his family will come. The emails (with the date of the wedding indicated) were our only proof that we plan to get married but he accepted it 😂).
So that's it. He will get his visa soon and I can't wait! I'm hoping everyone on this thread will get a favorable experience just like my fiancé did. This forum really helped me a lot prepare for this journey and I wanna thank everyone for your input. Good luck everyone!
