Quick question. We just found out we need to get CENOMAR for the interview.
Since, it represent that she has no record of prior marriage, I guess it make sense.

Tricky part is, how do I order it ? I can order it under "US EMBASSY" and to my wife's address just to be safe. WE don't know which name to put, she changed her last name to mine in all of her government documents. (passport, PRC)

But Im wondering if NSO has updated their database. If we put her original last name, are we gonna run into any problems during the interview. THANKS !

I'm confused. Is she applying for k1 Or k3 Visa? CENOMAR is only for person who has no previous marriage. You said that she's your wife so what she needs is a Marriage Certificate.

  2. You have to pay the visa first before you can schedule an interview. Once you obtain your case number you can pay visa right away and schedule a medical and interview. Give atleast a month from receiving the case number to interview so that you will have the embassy letter with you on time of your interview. You'll be done by August to do all that. Good luck 😊

Hi all, so my Father is in Manila right now for a 3 day sputum test collection but then there's a green note stapled on the white paper that says to bring his appointment letter. They didn't bring it with them. My sister only have a copy of the interview appointment letter which NVC emailed it to me. Would that be enough? Is that the correct paper? Otherwise they have to go back to the province and it's 8 hours one way through bus :(

Hi, I went through sputum exam also. I just brought that kind of note with me. He needed to reschedule his interview appointment anyway. They are going to culture the sputum for two months, if the result is negative they will schedule him for immunization before he can reschedule his interview.

So I'm looking for advice for our visa process.

    Here is our situation:

    1.  Case number already received.  Letters not received yet.

    2.  I'll be in her country May 27 - June 10.

    3.  We are hoping she can fly back with me June 10.

    4.  We would like to schedule our interview for May 29-June 1 as we will unable to be in Manila from June 2-5.

    5.  She's likely to be on her period from May 14-19 but that is just best guess.

    Assumptions:

    1.  Medical at St. Lukes should be done at least 1 week prior to interview.

    2.  It's recommended to not do your medical after your period or during.

    3.  SLEC requires original of NVC letter.

    So questions/advice requested:

    1. At what point can we schedule the medical?
      • After payment of visa fee?
      • After schedule of interview?
      • Once She has received her packet?
    2. Should she try to schedule her medical for the week of May 8? or can she go after during period?
    3. Any other advice that you can provide that can help us ensure that she flys back with me on June 10 would be greatly appreciated.

Copy of NVC Letter is ok in medical exam but make sure that she has the embassy letter on the time of her Interview because it is a requirement. I suggest to call USEM to make sure before setting an interview appointment. I did and It took 1 month for my approved petition from NVC to arrive in USEM. It is not recommended to have medical exam during but not after the period. I did my medical after my period, but I guess it doesn't matter because the urine test is just to test if she is pregnant to be sure that it is safe to give her the shots she needs on immunization day and if she states that she's on her period it's obvious that she's not. And she has to attend a CFO seminar before she leaves the country. So she has to give at least 1-2 months to do all of It.

  5. I just want to say hello to everyone. I'm a newbie in this forum, I just joined this morning. I'm currently in my 1st year as Permanent Resident and now in hiatus. Although I'm a new member, I've been visiting this site since 2015. This forum helped me a lot when I was still processing my k1 visa 2 years ago. Now I want to share my experience so I could help those who are having the same experience as mine. Please click here for more info about me. Cheers and good luck everyone!

Your NOA2 did, but you definitely waited longer for the rest considering you had the sputum test.

Yup, sorry that's what I meant. Our petition got approve in 4 months from sending petition and another 5 months for k1 visa process because I had to go through sputum test. But I had a friend she's now in Michigan, only took them 3 months from filing the petition to approval of visa.

  7. The best thing to do is wait. If you'll gonna file another visa it might get conflict and you'll still have to wait and might took longer than k1 so you'll just gonna waste money. Every case is different. Some got approve in less than 3 months, mine got approve in 4 months back in 2014. You can check my K1 visa timeline for preference if you want 😊. Just be patient. Goodluck!
