  1. I had my IR1 interview yesterday on the 10th of May.  We had checked into the Aloft Hotel which was a 5 minute taxi drive to the Embassy, it convenient as we live in Al-Ain.  I had arrived at 06:00 for my 08:00 appointment and to my surprise there was about 7 people ahead of me sitting on the immigrant visa benches.  About 07:15 the security let us in where we went through the metal detectors and left our phones.   Walked to the main building of the embassy where I was given a number.  First time I was called I had given all my requested documents such as birth certificate, police reports, marriage certificate, and other tax forms that the NVC had requested I submit on interview.  The second time I was called I had my bio metrics scanned (fingerprinted).  And last but not least I was called to interview the CO.  Here's the following questions she asked:

    1.  How did you meet your wife and when?

    2. When did you get married?

    3.  Do you have any kids(yes), can you show me their birth certificate?

    4. You had a previous B1/B2 visa, but its not in your passport.(It's in my old expired passport)

    5.  When do you guys plan on moving back?

    6.  Can you show me proof of domicile? (which i did)

    7.  You guys already purchased a car in the states, isn't that a bit too early? (It's cheaper then renting a car each time as we travel to the states to visit twice a year)  She agreed on that part.

Then she said "Ok I think we have everything" handed me a white slip and said I should wait for an email to pick up my visa.

  2. Our CC is August. 08, 2017 for our IR1 and the status on the CEAC website states "Ready".  Our file was sent out from the NVC on the February. 14, 2018 to the Embassy in AUH.  We've received an email stating that it was sent out to the embassy and to wait a couple of weeks for the scheduling of the interview as it got approved for expedite due to medical reasons.  We've called the NVC again yesterday and they said we need to contact the embassy.  Trying to contact the Embassy here is useless.  Does anyone know a timeline of when the embassy would start scheduling?

  3. Hello.  Our CC date is Aug. 08, 2017.  We've recently sent a request to expedite due to health reasons and it got accepted.  Now we're just waiting for the embassy to email us an interview date and instructions.  I see some beneficiaries are bringing pictures and all the forms they've initially submitted to the USCIS & NVC.  Is that necessary for a IR1 visa?  We've already submitted all of those, is it a must? or just recommended to have a stronger case?  Any advice would be great.

  4. Hello all.. Our CC date for our IR1 is 10AUG17 and still waiting for interview.  I see there's people who's CC date is before me still didn't get any word on an interview.  Me and my wife currently reside in the U.A.E. and would like to know what the process is to expedite due to a surgery that our infant daughter needs.  We have all the scans and paperwork from the surgeon in the UAE and had some consultation done also in the USA with a pediatric hospital.  I've read in some other threads that we need to email nvcexpedite@state.gov to request an expedite?  Other threads say that the NVC doesn't process expedite request and that the embassy does.  Can anyone with knowledge about this please advise what the process is to request an expedite?  Thanks

  5. Hello again.

We've received the IV bill today and paid that online.  How long does it usually take for the visa application form to open up for me to fill out and submit?  Also when it ask for the police report for the countries the beneficiaries have lived in for more then 6 months, do they have to be attested also? And if they have to be attested does it have to be attested in the country of issue or country that I currently reside in? Does it have to be translated from any legit translation firm or are there a list of approved translators?

    Thanks

  6. Hello All,

We've submitted the DS-261 online yesterday, called NVC today to review it and also got my welcome letter (paosf) with the AOS fee 'barcode page' and a document cover sheet. Paid the AOS fee today.  From my understanding now we're waiting to receive the IV bill to pay and fill out the DS-260 online (once unlocked) and mail in the package.  Now that we're still waiting for the IV bill, should I prepare my package now? I don't know where to start and some people mentioned a checklist that was sent?  Is it the same checklist that in the welcome email under 'Document Cover sheet'?  I-864 form?  I'm overwhelmed with information and would like some clarity on that.  Thanks

  7. I've called the NVC and today my Case number and IID number were assigned today the 15th of MAY, 2017.  When I tried logging into https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx it gave me an error which states "The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered does not match our records. Please try again or contact the National Visa Center for further assistance."  I called again to reconfirm that the Case number and IID number is correct, and the agent told me that it was current and I need to wait for the email to be able to log in.  I've noticed in a couple of timelines when other members get their case number and IID they were able to login the same time to complete the AOS and etc...

    Thanks

  8. Checking in. I called the NVC and gave them my USCIS case number for our IR1 and they confirmed that they recieved it from the USCIS on the 8th of May, and may take up to 2 weeks for them to populate a NVC case number. So I assume that 8th of May is my first scan date? Me and my spouse currently reside in the U.A.E.

    1.  After we get ours NVC number, would we need to log in online to submit additional documents? Or do they mail/email a list?

    2.  What are the next steps and remaining estimated time frames from now till CC?

    3.  After CC, does the case get sent to embassy for appointments?

    4. Anything we can prepare in the meantime to save time?

    Any assistance would be great.

    Thanks

    Scan Date: May 8, 2017

    Embassy: Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

    Expected CC: July 24, 2017
