  1. So if thats the case could I take it now even though I haven't been here 2 years? and could I move eventually in 5 years or whatever (example) and still be considered as indefinite leave to remain here and move back if I wanted 10 years down the line?

    I don't really understand.

Sounds like you're exactly where I am. I've been living in the UK with an FLR for less than two years and am about to take my life in the UK test to get my ILR. I will eventually go for citizenship. Here's the timeline:

Just before your two years is up, you take the life in the UK test and apply for the ILR. After your THIRD year in the UK you can apply for UK citizenship since you're on a spousal visa (I think it's 5 years if you're on other visas, don't quote me on that but I am absolutely sure about the three year wait). You will then be a dual citizen of both the US and UK.

If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me cos I may forget to check back

  2. Does anyone know anything about bringing a bunny to the US?

I'm from Texas currently living in the UK but eventually we would like to move back to Texas. I now have a pet bun-bun named Starsky. I don't want to have to leave him behind just because we decided we've had enough of the cold weather and ####### Mexican food!

How could I leave this little guy behind?

I figure he's small enough for carry on and his poops don't smell, they might roll around the floor of the plane though :P Has anyone here tried it or heard of it?

  3. Hull's pretty cheap cost of living wise, but there's a reason for that, it's a shithole. It's always in the top 5 for Worst place to live in the UK.

    source.

Hull trains can get you directly to/from London in around 3 hours.

One good point to the town is, there are overnight cruises to Amsterdam or Bruges starting around 70 pounds per person round trip. Pretty sad when the best thing to do in this town is to go out of town!

  4. ####### eaze is best or at least that's what I hear from people

And it comes in cherry flavor!

Don't ask me why it has to be cherry flavored, I just used to sell the stuff and make my commission!

    chocolate dipped cherry #######?

One day I got curious and decided I wanted to taste the flavored lubes, just a drop each out of the testers we kept behind the counter. We had a lot of them and I worked the boring night shift. I never had to poo so bad in my life but blueberry W.E.T was a favorite!

I put that bad decision down to lack of sleep as I was working two jobs and going to school at the time.

  6. my husband called me today to ask me if we had any fireworks in the house for him to celebrate

you should have got some in missouri..it is their biggest seller

I refuse to get anything for him

Aww, how come? We had fireworks on 4th of July here. I think they were kinda old cos they were very unpredictable. we had one rocket explode a foot above our heads and more than half of them had homing devices for other people's windows. We'll never buy fireworks from Poundland* again! :P

would you rather he made a Guy and wheeled him around the neighborhood in a stolen grocery cart asking for money? :D:lol:

*Before anyone asks... no, we didn't literally didn't buy them from Poundland.

  7. I had my first Bonfire Night tonight :)

So from what I can tell, drunk chavs set off fireworks all week long in the rain and I was supposed to eat mushy peas with a pork pie sitting in the middle. I didn't know about this so all the butchers were closed by this time but I went to the local chippy to get some peas.

I asked Jonny what this Penny for the Guy was all about and he told me kids show up with a Guy in a wheelbarrow and ask for a penny, I think if this happened before he had a chance to tell me about it I would have peed myself laughing... or got very scared, possibly both.

  8. Yes, it takes about a week or two to get a visa back, it cost us last December just over 500 pounds. Yes she can get NHS as soon as she steps off the plane (as long as you're married). Yes she is allowed to work in the UK (once again, as long as you're married.) She can get a National Insurance Number at a local job center which handles the interviews. The only thing she is NOT allowed which is similar to the US anyway is recourse to public funds. Oh yeah, not allowed to vote either.

uk-yankee has a lot of good info and if you ever want any personal experience, you can PM me as I'm currently living in the UK on a FLR visa  If you are located close enough, I would love to meet up with her if she ever gets lonely. Sometimes you miss a familiar accent and just want to rant about things you miss from home.
