I'm so sorry to hear that Sienna, that's awful.
If there's any justice, the chick he's been carrying on with will give him an incurable case of crotch crickets.
hahaha! thanks for the smile.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words and outpouring of sympathy. It really has been horrible. VJ is a beautiful place for support tho. Thank you all.

Visajourney helped us so much in the years it took to get him his permanent residency.
He got his conditions removed for permanent residency last month. He left me the same week he got it. All that time... all that money... everything. He left me for a girl he'd been carrying on with at work.
The pain is unimaginable.

Wow! It's been so long since I've posted here. Things have been going along so smoothly for the past two years that time has just flown by! But my husband and I are sending in our I-751 today. Fingers crossed that all goes well! We've included photos, 3 signed affadavits from friends and family, joint bank acct. info, life insurance policy info, portions of our 2008-2009 tax returns, AND copies of our Costco cards showing we have the same account. lol. Never can send too much info I suppose.
Forgot to add we were Vermont Applicants!
VJName..............Date of I-751.....NOA1 Date......Biometrics......Approved....
Sienna (Amber & Stephen).............05/17/10..........--/--/10.......--/--/10........--/--/10...

I don't know if EVERYONE has the same nightmare we've been having in trying to get a driver's license, but it seems logical to have a place here on VJ where people who have experienced getting a license can perhaps make it a little easier for those who haven't yet.
Every state is different of course, so I can only speak for my state, Alabama. After calling numerous times to find out what we needed to bring, and being told a variety of different answers, we headed out with a folder full of stuff. Once we got there we were met by an INS Officer (dour looking, short-tempered FOUL man) who informed us we needed the following:
Passport with I-94
I-797 STAMPED with biometrics information
social security card
marriage license
EAD
On the phone, they hadn't told us we'd need the marriage license or the EAD (we haven't received his EAD yet), so we were turned away. When I told the INS officer that we hadn't been told the right information on the phone he said, and I quote, "Well this is very complicated information. I can't possibly train all my staff to answer these kinds of questions." Really? Can't POSSIBLY write down on a piece of paper the simple requirements and keep it by your three phones? REALLY? Sweet home Alabama.

I guess good ol' fashioned hate lives on in the deep south
2008 would mark the 20th year of the Gay Pride Parade March here in Birmingham. This has always been a very peaceful march with a strong showing of support from the Birmingham community. (We aren't all a bunch of back woods hicks lynching people for their sexuality, color of their skin or religious beliefs, no matter what some people who live outside the South would have you believe.)
Oh. And this just in. The Gay Pride Parade permit WILL be issued this year. So suck it, Langford.

Any doctor can administer the vaccinations, it can be family doctor, health department, medical clinic, etc.. You then get the vaccination record given to you transfered to a supplement.
Here is a chart of required ones by name: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/ti-03/tbl1-cs-clrd.pdf
Thank Yu!
That comes as very welcomed news.

We are about to apply for my husband's AOS. He needs most of his vaccines. My question is, can he get the vaccines from my doctor or does he have to go to a civil surgeon? I read that we can have them transcribed on to a form by Dr. Arnold in Texas, so I'm thinking we can just have them done by a regular doctor?

Wow! It's been great reading these stories! Hopefully this will be an ongoing thread...
Stephen and I met at an online poker site (before the bastards in Congress made it illegal). They had a little section on there where members could post a picture and tell a little about themselves. They also had a "guestbook" where visitors to your page could post a comment. Stephen posted a ridiculous comment and I posted back in his guestbook. We started playing some games together (he kicked my ####### regularly) and after several months of growing closer via yahoo messenger and phone calls, we decided to meet up in person for a poker adventure in Tunica, Mississippi. It was a SPECTACULAR trip and what made it so great was... we barely found time to play much poker at all.
Now, two years later, he's here in Alabama from Northern Ireland and we're enjoying our life together very, very much.

WE'RE APPROVED!!!!!!!!!--Amber
CONGRATULATIONS.
I kept an eye out for Stephen but the place was packed with people and I didn't notice him. I'm also flying out on the 18th January - in fact I'm off to book my ticket now.
Gillian
Yeah, Stephen said there were loads of people there. Very anti-climatic for him as well. Never a peep about evidence of ongoing relationship, etc. But as sure as you DON'T have it, they're going to want to see it!
I'm so happy for you, Gillian! Maybe you and Stephen will be on the same flight over! LOL!!!
Thanks to all who've posted congratulations!!! It feels really, REALLLLY good!!!!!

I've been thinking of you! You haven't been around much!! I hope the interview goes really well for Stephen tomorrow! I'm looking forward to adding some new approvals!!!!! Good luck!!
Awww, thanks!!! It's true I haven't been posting much, but I've been around reading! It seems every post I made was a WINGE, so I thought I'd wait until I had a more positive outlook before posting. Which brings me to my point....
WE'RE APPROVED!!!!!!!!!
Stephen's interview, which was at 10:00 a.m. , was painless and quick. He said they sort of thumbed through his info, and as they were stamping things, asked where we met and how long we'd known each other and then said, "Congratulations. You're approved."
He's winging his way back to Belfast as we speak and will be winging his way to Atlanta on the 18th!!! WOOT!!!
Thanks for your support everyone!!!!

Despite our efforts to get him here in time for us to be together at Christmas (uber quick mailing of EVERYTHING), and even putting on our forms that we were getting married Dec. 24 and he had plans to travel here on Dec. 18, my fiance's interview was scheduled for Jan. 8, 2008. So all Christmas plans are now thwarted. This process has been so long and arduous. I suppose I should just be happy there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. And I suppose I will be.... after Christmas is over.

this ticket in advance so that the flight lands right around the time she should receive her visa?
Everyone says it is risky to do in case there is some delay in the visa process and the flight is missed--and I agree, because I simply don't have extra cash floating around this time of the year after both of my children's birthdays and Christmas coming up, to risk losing $800 on an unused airline ticket.
I agree with "everyone". You simply can't count FOR SURE on the visa being there when the plane is ready to go. If you don't have the money to risk then just wait. If it's there by the time you're ready to go, you can always go for "stand by".

anyone gathering the documents needed for packet3 ahead of time??? kinda overwhelming all the forms that need to be filled out.
I had them downloaded, filled out and in an envelope addressed to the Embassy before the Consulate ever even received our case.
That's cool! But how do you get all the forms?? I tried that and the forms are almost all expired??? I don't know what I should do to prepare ahead of time???
I'll PM you the links.
Hey Sienna, can you post the links here as well so I can get a jump start on the next step! I would greatly appreciate it!!!
Bundy
Yes sir! Here t'is.
You can find eveyrthing you need for Package 3 here:
http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/thumbna...y&uid=30186
Print all of those out and follow the instructions. It will tell you to send in pages 1 - 4 (the "Checklist" and some other information). Note that the pages aren't in order on this link for some reason. But the pages themselves are numbered when you print them out, so make sure you have them in order.
On the first page, it will tell you all the forms you'll need to send in along with pages 1-4. You can find those here:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=examples
There is one form you'll have to fill out online (DS 156) and THEN print. It generates a bar code on the page that the Embassy will want. You can find that form here:
https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp
Also note that there is one form that you do NOT sign. They want you to fill it in but they want you to sign it in front of the Consulate I think. So just read your instructions carefully.
Also, I would NOT send in Packet 3 before your case leaves the NVC. You want the Embassy to have your case on file before you send them your Packet 3. So once you know your case has left NVC, wait a couple of days and then mail in Packet 3.
This should speed things up considerably!!!!

Hey guys... Here is my story and i am hoping that i can get some insights from some of you that have been through this.
I will be married 3 years next Feb. My husband and I have been separated for a few months trying to work things out..although there are alot of issues we love each other very much but it doesn't em like we will be getting together anytime soon. There have been many bad things that have happened that cannot just be forgotten just like that.. I am sure many of you who have been married and divorced know what i am talking about.
Anyways, he is the USC and we both applied to remove conditions and then things got worse from there.... And to make matters worse.. i got a letter calling me to the interview ( I-175). I know that i can probably persuade him to come with me.. but i don't want to commit perjury during the interview in case they ask about our marriage, living conditions etc etc... Is there anyone out there with some insights.... Can i postpone the interview and the try to file with the waiver? how do i that, do i have to file everything all over again? If i do file for divorce now, it will probably be until June before it is finalised.. I am truly confused and i hope someone on this forum has gone thru this... please feel free to share your opinions and experiences.
Thanks you aa
I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. I wish I had some insight, but this is certainly not an area I am familiar with in any respect. I did want to wish you all the best and hopefully bump the topic up so that someone might can post a helpful reply!
