    Hello Stone,

I would recomend you to be there. The lady at window 5 can be a real bear and 1 mistake with her and she will really shake your girl up. We had 2 meetings with her and a friend of mine also had 2 meetings (she was alone at the interview and she was shook up). If she gets the nice man as we got at window 6 you will be ok.

I would say calm down and Jai yen yen. All will be ok.

:no: I hope I will not be ineterviewed with the lady you mentioned...!! Is she the only lady in the US embassy...1 week more  and I'll have my interview.

  2. What Happens if I cant' go to the interview? let's say some important is happining the same day you have the interview like my graduation from the university. Do they reschelude it if you notice them prior the interview date?

You can re-schedule your interview. Tell them in advance! Goodluck.:)

  3. Sawasdee...

    GOT IT!!

Pond had her interview this morning got there about 6am. Got the call 10 minutes ago about 9:45am bangkok time. Very simple interview the woman was very cordial and caring.

The questions she was asked: (in case anyone is preparing for theirs and curious)

    WHere and when we met:

how many times I had been to visit

when the last time I was there

    where she will live

pretty simple. I was worried since I wasn't able to go with her.

I cannot thank everyone here enough I would have been lost without this website.

well.. per my experience and what i' heard.. If they approve you then they just tell you to come back the next day to get the passport and visa.. I havnt heard otherwise.. oh.. just one but i dont rememebr what was wrong. Good luck!!!

    Many Thanks....!!!!

  4. Sqirmy,

congrats on your interview date. My wife sent her packet 3 in 2 weeks ago and we have not heard anything from the Embassy. How did they notify you of your interview date?

Where are you from? Do you live in BKK? Maybe you can help my wife. She is freaking out!

    -Brad

Thank you so much! The US embassy sent me a notification letter including some documents and instructions that I have to bring during the interview. It was really fast because when I sent it they replied after 4 days. I was sooo happy! I live in Pathumthani, quite near Don Muang Airport. I'm from the Philippines. My fiance has started my application since February 2005. Yes, I would surely help if I can. Tell her to take it easy...I'm quite anxious too.

Best of luck to both of you. :) Keep the faith alive!

  6. Greetings vj members!

I'm soooo happy. US embassy replied immediately and sent packet 4 only for a week. They scheduled me for an interview this coming 10th October. For those people who had their interview in the US embassy (Thailand) recently could you please give me some ideas on what to expect during the interview? I'm not Thai. Will I receive equal treatment also? Are they too particular with another nationalities?

Packet 4, they stated some enclosures like DS-230 Part II, Application for Immigrant ( They didn't include it in packet 4), Visa and Alien Registration (Sworn Statement), Supplemental Information Letter. I received these documents when I received packet 3 and sent them back. I do have photocopies of all of them. I understand that I must bring the photocopies during the interview. Am I right na kha?

How should I pay the visa fee in the post office? I will just go to one of the post offices and tell them I want to pay US VISA fee. Do I have to pay in baht or US $?

What is the best way to communicate in the US embassy by phone or e-mail?

Thank you so much in advance for all those people who will answer my queries.

    Goodluck to everyone.

  7. What I did? I photocopied the original documents that the embassy sent me. I used them as drafts and after checking and making sure that my answers are correct that's the time I copied my answers to the original documents.

    Goodluck

My finace has began filling out the packet three forms, and ran into some mistakes..we think, it asks for city/town, state/province, and country. He put his village, town, and then England as the country and his county (Norfolk)as the province, should he put the UK as the country and England as the state or province? And if we need to start over, is it ok to download forms off of this website and submit thoseto the embassy, or should we jsut tipex eveyhing out and write over it? That is so messy though? Any suggestions?
  8. Divorce is not possible in the Philiipines...Annulment ! It's so difficult and soo expensive to have one....Goodluck...

I had to get Luz an annulment before we could file her petition. Let me tell you, it's not easy or cheap. It cost me about $4000 and took 2 years. Even at that it still isn't a sure thing that you will get it. They make it as hard as possible on purpose. It's are real trial to get one.
  9. Hello Yodrak!

Sorry, I don't know how to call these packets..I thought they are packet 1 because they were the first packet that I've received after my fiance piled his petition. I don't even know the meaning of the abbreviations that members have been using here. Sorry for the ignorance. :hehe:

I hope I will not have difficulty in getting VISA because am a Filipino. I'm working in a government school and I have my working permit and legal working visa here.

    Regards..

    Squirmy mold,

For the avoidance of confusion, what you are calling "packet 1" is commonly known as 'packet 3' (for historical reasons).

A few years back it used to be quite constant at 3 months from visa application to interview, then it got chaotic after the tsunami and seems to settle down at around 2 months. Don't know what it is now, perhaps Mew's link will give you a good idea.

The consulate in Bangkok is known for being very 'easy' with respect to K visas (in stark contrast for their reputation for B visas). Don't know how you being a non-Thai might affect that, could depend on what your nationality is and what you're doing in Thailand. (You're not a 'visa runner' are you?)

  10. Hello am a new member here. I have some questions especially for Thais who waited in getting their VISA approved here in Thailand.

I received and sent packet 1 yesterday. They were biographic data, non-immigrant visa and supplemental visa application and non-immigrant fiance/fiancee visa form. My fiance has started my visa last February and I only recieved the first packet a week ago. How long will it take me to get an interview? Is it difficult to get my visa approved here? By the way, am not Thai..but I'm working here in Thailand. What should I expect after getting packet 1? Could I see some timeline from Thai members here?

Thank you so much! Sawasdee kha! :)
