Yes obviously. It should not be a problem anyway if only people have not taken advantage of the online appointment system and hoarded the slots to sell them.

Yes i have tried and they told me i need a recommendation letter so they will process mine. It should be from an immigration officer or someone from dfa. As for the courtesy lane, ofws, minors 7 yrs below, pwds and seniors are welcome.

Yes there is. There is a so-called courtesy line in some dfa sites if you fit the requirement. At robinsons galleria as well they have lanes for walk in ofws. Just got info that they do entertain urgent cases.

Hi! I just wanted to ask since I am having trouble with the current passport appointment system.

I need my passport renewed here in the Philippines asap. I currently reside at NCR, at ang DFA NCR satellite offices have fully booked slots for the passport appointment until August!

I have checked with travel agencies, but upon my inquiry with them, down ang system ng DFA for 2 weeks na for the passport application. What they wanted me to do was pay for my slot (which was fishy) so I can reserve it for the month of June. There is still no guarantee on when the system will be up.

SO since wala akong choice for the NCR area, i booked for a slot in Pampanga, and the latest available slot I got was for August 18. I have not checked with DFA satellite offices in person yet, and I got wind that someone was able to process his passport by walking in to DFA Megamall just recently. I will definitely check it out this week.

IS there no update for the passport renewal system yet? What I know is according to news, DFA sec. Cayetano has issued a memo to abolish the online system and revert to the old system. I know the booked slots for June to August for the NCR area has been monopolized by the travel agencies, so since their system is down recently, what would be the option for those who have booked for those dates?

Hello, I just want to ask something. My husband is an LPA in AZ. We got married in the PH last Sept 2016 and when he got back in US, he already filed for an I-130. Our PD is on November 2016. Do you know how long ours will take? I'm so clueless.

Since your visa category is f2a (spouse of LPR) your priority date will take approximately 1.5-2 years before it becomes current.

You can google visa bulletin and check the movement of the priority dates as they are updated every month.

She returned to US on Apr 1 and filed the petition on Apr 6. She received the Notice of Action (Form I-797C) on April 21, 2017. I now have my priority date.

Wow good for you and your family! Have been postponing my marriage plans as well for this, even lost a former fiancee. Imagine waiting for a decade.

The F1 category is for a USC to petition for a son or daughter.  The F1 category would never apply to your husband.

It takes 1 year for a US citizen to petition for a husband.  If you wait for US citizenship when you qualify in 2022 and file immediately for your husband, then it would be 2023 for his visa.

Oh thanks! But wont the wait be longer than 2 years, because we are from the Philippines (oversubscribed country) and visas for my spouse by then would be under the f1 category (which is still on 2006 priority date).

My mom (LPR for 10 years) petitioned me under f2b category - unmarried child, over 21.

I was just wondering, because Philippine visa applications take so much longer, and my spouse by then would be falling under f1 category since im not a USC (correct me if im wrong).

How long before you become a citizen? Remember, the citizenship process can take from 10 months to a year to complete.

 

You should file after you marry regardless if you are a permanent resident or citizen. That way you can get he ball rolling. 

 

A permanent resident petitioning for a spouse takes 1.5 - 2 years.

A citizen petitioning a spouse takes 1 year.

So all in all, once i get my GC, it would be around that 1.5 to 2 years time?

Once I got my greencard and go back to the Philippines to marry my boyfriend, which is more advisable--- should I file his petition papers once I get back to the U.S, or wait it out to become a US citizen?

1.) Once you have submitted and paid for the required documents, when will you be receiving its approval status?

2.) Once your priority date became current, how long before you were scheduled for an interview?

3.) Then after the interview, how long before you got your visa?
