I did my biometrics this morning at Boston ASC, not a early walk in. My appointment was for 8 am, I showed up 8:05am and already 30-40 people were waiting at the check in line ahead of me. I am not sure if they give 8:00 am time slot to this many people or they were letting early walk-ins but by the time I was out of the ASC building it was around 9:30 am. Not a pleasant experience. I guess each day is a different story, when I did my fingerprints last June again at Boston ASC (on-time appointment, not an early walk in), maybe there was 2-3 people other than me, get-in get-out was no more than 10 minutes. Days like those they probably wouldn't object to early walk-ins, but days like today it would be unfair to let early walk ins unless people have a valid reason.

I think they give the same appointment time to many people. It doesn't mean you (and only you) will be seen then, but it means you won't be seen before and if everyone sticks to their time, it manages the flow of people!

I mean there are thousands and thousands of them made... I'm sure percentage wise it isn't a "problem"... and out of the ones that do get stolen, an even smaller amount are probably reported as such. BUT, for the individual, it'll be a big problem ofc...

And you are right,  from previous posters it is obvious that they don't care about it.

I'm sure you will get your card just fine! :)

I just wish they would give the tracking number for the envelope when they send the notification that it was sent... But all is well that ends well. :)

they said we are trying to conduct shameful marriage because I am sevaral years older, they have not requested any back up documentation, and all I get are standard replies when I email the consulate.

    Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. USCIS doesn't usually deny an application just based on the age of the applicants. Their decisions aren't that arbitrary. Do have any more information?

I have heard several stories like this on here and believe they get lost (read stolen) from time to time - which is just awful (I guess sometimes they could be actually lost lol). In any case, if you get approved at your interview ask them then and there if they can stamp your passport (i-551 stamp) right there since you will be needing it for work.

Thanks! We were approved on the spot in the interview :) I asked the interview officer about getting a temporary EAD (I forgot that it was called I-551) and he didn't seem very concerned... Just told me that I'd have a physical green card in my hands in a few days so don't need to worry about an EAD. I'm surprised that he wasn't more concerned if what you say about them getting stolen is true!!! :s

  5. Hi everyone!

I filed my I-485 / I-130 / I-131 / I-765 packet on January 10, 2017 with a priority date of January 12, 2017! We were sent to the National Benefits Center (our receipt number stared with "MSC"). My local office is Boston, MA. We had the interview and was approved for the green card on June 6, 2017! :) You can check out my timeline on my profile.

Hang in there! No news is good news (sometimes)... it means no requests for evidence!

  6. I'm hoping there is someone who could help me with a slight issue I am facing. On April 24, 2017, my I-765 Employment Authorization (based on C(9) eligibility) and I-131 Advance Parole was approved, and I got the approval notice in the mail on April 27, 2017. On April 28, 2017, I got an email saying that my card was mailed to me. As of today, June 2, 2017, I have still not received my EAD Card with the Advance Parole notice. I submitted an inquiry last week, but my fear is that the card was lost in the mail. I was never given a tracking number and the case status has not changed since April 28 to indicate that it was delivered. My name is on my mail box.

My current work authorization (based on F-1 OPT eligibility) expires on June 12, 2017, but I have my green card interview here in Boston on June 6. If I don't get my EAD Card by June 6 (which I am thinking I won't), will they give me a temporary EAD or approval stamp in my passport that will mean there is no "gap" between receiving my green card (which, I hope I am approved on June 6), and the expiration of my current work authorization on June 12?

Any help for people who have had the AOS / Green Card interview and know what the procedure is for work authorization and travel thereafter would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you in advance :)

  7. Hi Allie,

The language on your Interview Notice is quite generic. They give all applicants the same list of what to bring, regardless of if you have already submitted those documents, or if they were up to the standard they require. I have read testimony of the interviews saying that they very often don't ask for those documents again, but do require you to have them in the event that they do want to see them. It doesn't hurt to bring along everything they ask for, even if those things are already in your original application. I wouldn't read into the semantics too much, they just want you to be prepared to answer questions about every aspect of your application and made sure that all of the information you submitted originally is still valid and current.

    I hope this helps!

  8. Hi there, I would not list the agency as the "preparer", because they did not physically fill out the forms for you, you did. You are the one who gathered the information and checked that, to the best of your knowledge, it was correct. You shouldn't list someone else as having performed that process. If something is wrong in the forms, it is because you made a mistake, not because of anything they did! :)
