I did and it still says wrong alien registration number.
-
I got my immigrant visa on my passport after five days of my interview. Now when I went to pay the green card payment $220 it says my alien registration number is wrong. I got 8 digits of number and A in the beginning. A********. It says i have to put a zero after A. I’m very confused.

You get 6 months from medical date, not interview or visa issuance, just fyi.
Yea I heard that before, thanks.

Well, my question was if I can go to vacation in any other country before entering in the US after getting my visa approval. I didn't ask if I can visit other countries without that country visa. After US embassy interview I'll get 6 months to enter in USA. So in that time I want to go for vacation. I don't know if I could explain what I wanted to say or not.

Yes, you can travel anywhere as long as you don't enter any US POE or your CR-1 will be activated and then invalidated upon entry.
Thank you for the reply. I'm planning to go to a vacation with my husband before entering the US.

I was wondering if I can travel other countries before entering the US after getting my visa approved. As after getting the visa we still get 6 months validity duration to enter the US.

Good luck. It's almost 4 months still didn't get the case confirmation.

I got the NVC checklist where they mentioned about police clearance certificate but my husband somehow didn't send it. When my husband called NVC after 1 and a half month they said I have a missing document which is PCC. So he sent it on last Thursday. NVC didn't send any email to notify about getting the document.
So my husband called them yesterday to make sure if they need any other document. They said no but it's gonna take time and they will email us when they're done reviewing. But he didn't mention any time. Already my case is in NVC for more than 2 months. Is it gonna take more 11 weeks to get completed?

Mine took 8 days

I think and hope they'll send you the interview letter soon. I was really worried too but when I heard they actually are calling I felt relieved. Good luck. And please let me know once you get the letter. My case is still under the review.
-
May I know how long did it take NVC to complete your case?
-
You should call NVC and ask them if they already sent your case to Bangladesh embassy. I heard from one of my known persons that she got her interview letter after 3-4 months of case approval.

I have visited twice in the past 3 months.
one was through Abu Dhabi ( pre-flight screening) if anything it was easier.
never did i show a single document. In fact i didnt even have the return flight booked once as i was waiting on a mtg conf in home country and wanted to stay another day or two if that was possible with hubby in US.
i do have a spotless history if visiting 8 times in two years and leaving on two weeks or less (once was 4 weeks).
i would encourage visits - the distance is horrible for marriages.
I also visited once after my marriage. They didn't ask me many questions or wanted to see any papers.
I think I'll just hope for the best and will visit him once my case is completed by NVC.
Thank you though

Why would documentation of your immigration be needed? Wouldn't the CO have access to that information already?
I mean, when you show them you passport, do they see that you have a visa or petition in progress and what the current status is?
I'll surely carry with me all the papers. In case they want to see those.
Thank you

I actually don't know about this. But it would be great if they have that already. I can just tell them about my short visit and they would surely understand.

my wife has visited the USA 3 times in the past year without any incident or even the slightest suspecting questions.. We are also currently waiting to receive an interview letter... we just got plane tickets expecting that she will have the cr-1 visa on or before august 5th... this is kinda risky but i have some faith... we completed the DS-260 and other forms on may 1st... 11 weeks after that would be mid july... sooo can't imagine she wouldn't have it by august 5th...
Hope she gets her interview date soon. Can you tell me if she sent her Police clearance certificate to NVC? And the went to the US? I don't know if it's okay to travel just after issuing the police certificate from your own country that the CO might want to see in the interview.

I have seen this question asked many times, and it was the very first question I asked my attorney's office when we filed our CR1 form I-130 in April 2016. The technical answer is Yes, you are allowed to temporarily visit your husband while waiting if you possess the proper travel document. However, the CO has the power to deny entry based on his/her interpretation of the intent and purpose of your visit. As always, you MUST be completely honest when answering the CO's questions. I think having a return ticket, USCIS documentation of your petition, and other documentation which you can use to prove to the CO that you are not entering in an attempt to adjust status (as well as your intent to return to your country before issuance of the visa) would be beneficial. However, there is no guarantee that you will be allowed to enter.........just my opinion.
I wish you well.
If I can show the CO that NVC has already done reviewing my case and I'm just waiting for the interview date. And will be back to my country just after getting the call. Then I guess they won't have a problem about my visiting there.
Thank you anyway. I'm just waiting for my case to be completed soon.

If you have a pending application they may not let you in because you are an intending immigrant. I wouldn't recommend trying it because it usually doesn't seem to work out. Just be patient and wait for your visa.
Thank you

Can I visit my husband while I've to wait for my interview date? And another thing, is it okay to travel USA after I got my police clearance certificate which I was asked to send to NVC? Do I have to apply for the police clearance certificate again just because I travelled USA after issuing the certificate? I heard the validity duration is 6 months and they ask to bring it with you on the interview. I'm planning to send the pcc to NVC and will be waiting till the case gets completed. After that I want to visit my husband on our anniversary with the multiple entry tourist visa.

No I entered A and then the 8 digits. I’m gonna call USCIS tomorrow let’s see what they say about it.
