Has anyone’s case been stuck since late 2017?
-
How long after the expiration of the medical does the embassy notify you?
-
Hi. Does anyone know if US Citizens are allowed to walk into the Islamabad embassy and inquire about a pending immigrant visa case?

I requested to speak to a supervisor when I get the second scan date and the representative said I will wait for 11 weeks, and I gently explain to the supervisor that I can't wait 11 weeks because have waited a long time before. She was so nice and calm
I have spoken to a supervisor already and I was just told that they can't do anything about it as cases are reviewed in the order they are received. What exactly did you say to the supervisor, if you don't mind me asking?

First scan date :- May 1st 2017
got check list on August 4th 2017
Second scan date :- Aug 24th 2017
CC :- September 1st 2017
Did you request for a supervisor review or an expedite for your case?

Thanks! It was not expedited, so maybe a checklist won't reset the waiting time! I was expecting to hear from NVC again in Oct. We are really realy surprised when we got the email!
Awesome!

We got our P4 letter by email with interview date Sept 18! When I called to confirm my second scan date, i was told to wait for up to 11 weeks! I just checked the website, the status is indeed "in transit"! We are soooooo surprised!
Congrats! Did you expedite your case or it just miraculously took around 2 weeks for you to get an interview date?

Here is the page for August 2017 Scan Dates:

Do they take the same time for cases with a checklist when compared to cases that are going to be reviewed for the first time?

Is there a page for August 2017 Scan Dates?

"While this case meets the minimum qualifications for a visa interview to be scheduled, your Form I-864A is missing. Please complete Form I-864A."
This is directly quoted from a previous family member's checklist; however, recently I got a checklist for my husband's case asking to correct some mistakes on the I-864A and for it to be sent to NVC instead of being brought to the interview. I was just wondering what the reason for them asking for it to be fixed and directly sent to the NVC would be, as the case could be completed without the form itself?
Also, is this a strong enough reason to convince a supervisor to complete the case on the phone and bring the form to the interview instead?
I have mailed the correction already, but the documents still haven't been scanned yet.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Any success stories about getting a supervisor to review your documents on the phone after sending them again due to getting a checklist? How did you do it?
anyone?

I just received a checklist because there are missing signatures in 3 places on the I-864A form. Is it possible to ask NVC to bring the corrected form to the interview, as the only thing missing is just the signatures?
Any help would be appreciated!

Same here....been in the review department since 7/24 and when I called yesterday was told we were still under review. I asked how long it's taking to process applications and they said up to 11 weeks....so many are getting approved within a few days of being forwarded to the review department, I don't know what's taking so long in our case...
I should also add our scan date was 6/16.
That's my scan date as well, and that's true, a lot of cases are getting a CC within a few days of being in the review department.

They said to look for an email within the next 2 weeks. It can be any day. Hoping sooner than later. But at least its in the review department.
They didn't specify the time for me but said the same thing about looking out for an email.
Good luck

So it's 6 weeks tomorrow and I just called NVC even though I shouldn't before 9 weeks and they told me our case is in the review department.
Yay! They said the same thing to me when I called the day it was 6 weeks. Did they tell you to look out for an email soon?

Thanks!
My husband called on Monday it was pending review and then on Tuesday they told him it just went under review.
So on Friday he checked online at ceac and the status changed from "submit required documents" to "at NVC". Which meant it's complete. When he called to confirm they said an email will be sent next week with instructions what to do next.
If your case is under review, call ask if it's actively being reviewed. It depends on countries, the time spent in review I mean.
Wish you best of luck and a soon cc! 😁
Thank you

YOU GUYS!
CASE COMPLETE!
OMG!
I was pending review on Monday of this week, Tuesday of the same week went under review. Today, Friday! !! My hubby checks ceac and finds it at NVC "he didn't even know what it means so he asked me and I went crazy!"
Scan date: 14/6/2016
Case complete: 28/7/2016
Thank God million times.
I can't remember who but a member of VJ said it's better to be "proactive" rather than "reactive" and it was the best advice one could give around here, so thank you!
Congrats!
When you called to ask if your case is being reviewed, were you told to look out for an email? I called them and that is what I was told, that my case is in the review department (idk since when), and that I should keep my eyes open for an email soon. My status is still the same as the beginning. Godwilling, there's no checklist!
Good luck on your interview!

Does the status of the application only change to "At NVC" when you have a CC? Also, how does one know that his/her case is under review?
-
How long is it taking these days for a case to be in review?

I would try based on financial hardship. A saying my mom taught me is it's an automatic no if you don't ask lol.
I just don't want to jeopardize the normal processing time as the wait is initially long and I don't want it to take even longer. And your mom's saying is definitely true.

You can always try, it's up to your embassy to determine if you qualify.
I just want to know if it's safe to do so and if it's a good enough reason to even "try."
