We had an RFE for our application. Our case status had indeed changed to Evidence Received or something of that sort within a few days of USPS delivering the package.

That said, I don't trust the status online at all. It never updated after that even including the interview until last light for card in production.

I guess everyone is different because all my updates came through the online status first since the very beginning.

Great news.. our card is in production!  My wife (and I) had our interview yesterday (Jan 30th).  Not sure if there's a proper place for interview experiences but I'll post here first and then copy it out.

Our appointment was for 12.50p but we showed up atound 12.30p.  We actually got called in within 5 minutes of checking in.  Our officer was very friendly and escorted us to her office.  She asked us for our passports and state IDs.  Things started rocky immediately because our driver's licenses are actually for NJ though we live in NYC (I grew up there and that's where I keep my car still, etc. so didn't make sense to transfer drivers license).  Anyways, explained the situation to her and we had enough proof of living in NYC though she told us to make sure to get this all cleared up before we apply to get conditions removed.  While discussing the address, she went ahead and looked at all of our joint financials.  We had prepared a cover page outlining for what all proof we were showing and in what order which she greatly appreciated.

Anyways, she then asked us about our story, which we told her from when we met, dating, proposal, to wedding, and life since.  During this time, she asked to see photos, so we showed her the printed out photos we brought (we didn't bring a wedding album or anything like that).  We had all in all about 20 photos, 10 from the wedding, and 10 from everything else.  In the photos she asked who several people were and asked specifically for a wedding/engagement photo showing both parents together.  She kept a few samples and gave back the rest.

That was all the proving we had to do.  I had changed jobs by then and asked her if she wanted the updated affidavit of support I brought with me and she said no need and just updated my info on the demographics page.  She then confirmed my wife's biometrics and data from her demographics form.

She then told us we'd be getting a temporary green card within the next 120 days and gave us a results notice showing that our case is being held for review.  She did make it seem to us that she closes out files after her last interview of the day.  At this point, I did get a bit worried since I've read many a horror story about the dreaded case being held for review and cards getting super delayed.

Thankfully, I just got the email notice that the case was updated and the new status is "New Card Is Being Produced"!!!  The status update is actually dated yesterday, the day of our interview, so our case officer was as great as I thought she was.

We did manage to sneak in without needing a new medical (it expired on 2/7!!)  We've got another week to wait for the card and then 2 years before kicking off the next process.

Good luck to everyone else who's waiting and in the pipeline.  Feel free to reach out if you need any help.  We managed to do this all without any lawyers but very much thanks to VJ!!

We just got our my approval notice around 8pm as well omg...

    this is great news, congratulations!

i haven't followed much this thread but did you ever get any notification about them receiving your RiFE? i ve replied on the 15 th of December with my copy of the birth certificate( however submitted with the initial application) and haven't heard anything since then.

Thank you!! 😁😁😁😊They received our new medical on the 23rd of January. Didn't get any update from them until now. Saying that our case was approved am in Pittsburgh so the  processing time is alot faster here. I moved from NYC to here back in October.

  5. Omg guys I would like to share the great news I'm in serious tears of joy right now. Just got notice online that my husband green card was approved. I didn't get any notice that the 1-130 was approved maybe it will come later on but from what I have researched the the 1-485 can't get approved unless the 1-130 was approved in the first place. Thanking  the universe n the cosmos right now. Genuine Blessings to every one.

My wife and I just were traveling for the holidays and received a notification from USPS that we had mail from USCIS waiting for us at home (got that on 12/27).  We just got home today and found our interview notice scheduled for 1/30/2018!

For those not following, our priority date is 2/21/2017 which is roughly 310 days between notices and 340 days to the interview.

For anyone with experience with this.. my wife's medical is dates 2/01/2017 which will be just short of a full year on our interview day.  Should we bite the bullet and pay for a new medical to bring with us?

Yes absolutely. If the medical from i-693 is dated for 2015. They consider that an old application and they won't use it. Get the new form on there website 2017 version and get your updated medical done so it won't delay your approval. We got the RFE for a new medical and our interview was last month. His medical would have expired next month... I replied to this post late but hopefully u choose to do the right thing.

i'd also like to point out.. my status online has never changed nor did i get any notifications about my cases even though i have received a letter saying with my interview date.  i'm not complaining but just make sure you're keeping an eye out in your mailbox.  i've signed up for the USPS notifications for incoming mail and that's helped twice now for knowing that we've got mail in from USCIS that the case status never showed online.

Glad to see you guys finally got your interview date.

Excuse me but I've been waiting since the end of October for USCIS to send my Green Card back!

Tomorrow will be day 30 and I have to make a THIRD service request in a row so yes, I have a reason to be pissed!

So basically u been waiting for 90 days. Sound about right. They usually take that long to process a new card anyways. Hopefully by January u will have the updated card. If not having the card isnt affecting your daily life activities. I dont see why your pissed if it is just request an appointment to speak with them..  the good thing is your approved for your card alot of others haven't even gotten to that point yet. Your card is coming is just taken a lil time. Be patient n be thankful

No update yet when USCIS will resend my Green Card.

I submitted a case inquiry on November 29th and the document that I got in the mail last week says that the card should be mailed within the next 30 days...

I'm getting frustrated because I don't know what is so difficult about resending a Green Card.

It says next 30 days it hasnt been 30 days yet. U have to wait.

  10. Update: ended up getting the RFE for the outdated medical like 2 days ago. Since its the holidays we got an appointment for Jan 4 to get it done. One day before our anniversary lol, once we send the medical in we will be married for 2 years I hope when they make the final decision they will review those details. And my husband will get his 10yr instead of conditional. But either way i will be thankful cause we all know the journey is quite stressing n nerve racking but blessings to everyone.

I filed AOS at the end of April coming from a K1 visa. My status has said "Ready to schedule an interview" since July 17 :(

Has anyone with a K1 had this status and ended up just being mailed a GC? I'm just trying to be optimistic!

In any case... I know the wait is LONG but to add to this lengthy process, we're considering moving to Oregon in the spring. The wait is shorter but I've read moving during AOS is hell. Feeling totally discouraged!

From what I have seen most k-1 get approved without an interview but also u waiting that long is not abnormal my husband is doing adjustment of status we received the same notice as u in May and we just did our interview in December. So if your currently in the states it all depends on what state ur in an what local field office your assigned to some like nyc takes along time to process stuff.

Sounds like it all worked out in the end. Nerves cause funny things!!

My wife and I are thinking about just bringing an up to date medical whenever the interview doesn't get scheduled to be safe and not delay anything anymore.  Do you remember the date for you medical?  I'm curious to see if you get an RFE

We did the medical on October, 10, 2016. Send in packet on Feb. But on there website it says after uscis receive your medical its valid for one year from the date it was received. So we are still in the time frame therefore we didn't get an RFE. But at the interview the IO told us its an old form and he might not be able to use it to get us approved he might need a new one. But told us not to do anything yet we should wait and see if we get the letter. So am hoping we get processed before February so we don't have to spend all that money again u know.

Howdy all New York filer my PD is 28/04/2017. Already in possession of my EAD combo card n was just wondering when will I see some movements as it relates to my I-485 n I-130 applications. How long from now before my interview is scheduled? I notice a few people from New York getting interviews between 230 -236 days. I would appreciate any advice.

Your gonna be waiting a long time.

  14. Had AOS interview today and this is happened lol:

Hello, went to AOS interview today then after getting sworn in the IO literally asked the two of us 2 questions my husband answer was a bit vague might was more detail i guess. I think i was just talking a lil bit too much and wasnt allowing my husband to talk fully outta nervousness so after that he basically separated us an questioned us about our relationship n our family. It took about 5-10 minutes for each of u. Then brought us back in and started to say everything seems fine with the application he never asked any more questions after he brought us back together. Then he said all we might need is a new up to date medical but hes not sure as yet we should just wait to see if we get the rfe n started to talk about permanent residency vs conditional basically started to go into when the green card might be approved. His whole vibe changed from curious to convince but idk that's was just weird why we were instantly seperated us by the first two questions which wasnt even that deep i was a bit nervous when he did that but at the same time i was like not, cause our relationship isnt no bullshit u know lol me and my husband been to together for yrs 5 to be exact and will be married for 2 years in Jan. Idk what red flag he might have saw that was that serious but we had a lot of evidence as well to the point where he gave us back some lol. Maybe it was because of us being in our mid early 20s idc am just guessing at this point After talking to my husband when we left we basically answered 98% of the question right anyways. We both just added lil more details to the answers on some of the family related question. From how it look and the way IO was talking at the end of the interview it seems like if it wasnt for our possible outdated medical he would have approved us right there...

  15. Question! Husband and I sent AOS packet off in February This year which includes form 1-864 and all its supporting documents. (I met the poverty guidelines for two). Since then we move to a new state in October I got a transfer from my company but they lower my pay rate and switched me to part-time for the time being. Since moving we receive our interview notice for this month of the 13th. I just started working again in late novmeber barely getting any hrs. Since am working for the same company  the wages I have been making as just been adding on to what I have been making the whole time before the move. My year to date on my paystub is currently 35k my last year return I submitted with the original affidavit is 29k. But the hrs n pay rate am getting now is not and doesnt qualify if they were to check. Will I still need a co-sponor by the time the interview comes. Also my husband got a full time job in November with is EAD n ssn and is wages is  over the poverty level for 2 when calculated annually can i use him instead of trying to find a co sponsor last minute of do I even need one?

Congrats. Seems like we should all

move to Pittsburgh. Hope the family issues have resolved and the move went well (it's a lovely city btw..). Good luck with the interview.. keep us updated!

Issues all resolved.. pittsburgh office is currently working on  2017 February filers and since my priority date is February I think thats why we got our interview so quickly... thanks for the blessings. By early next year new York should be sending out interview dates to jan n den filers

  17. Update. So husband and I relocated from NYC to pittsburgh Pennsylvania due to family issues plus it's cheaper here anyways. We already had a notice for "interview is ready to be scheduled since may 30th".. we moved October and after changing our address n following the steps to do so in the first week of November we recieve the online notice saying "interview schedule for december 13" we now have the paper notice. Just waiting for the date now n preparing all documents...
