  1. A Consular Officer is a career Foreign Service Officer (diplomat). A Consular Adjudicator is a person who is in a limited role who may only be working as a consular officer for a few years, such as a wife or husband of a diplomat. But both have the same power to approve/refuse visas.

  2. To be blunt, if I was the CO I would never approve you.  Your entire immediate family ties are in the United States so you do not overcome 214B (the presumption that you will immigrate). Quite frankly if I was from West Africa and all my family were in the US and I somehow managed to get a visa, I would go to USA and never look back.  It would be much easier if one of your family members petitioned for you for a Green Card. Yes it will take longer and be more expensive but it's the right course of action for someone in your situation. That said keep in mind that you definitely will never qualify for a B1B2 visa once you start the immigrant course of action. You'll just have to wait until you get a Green Card. It's too bad your family didn't sponsor you 10 years ago or whenever they first arrived to the US, you likely would have had a green card by now.

  3. Your visa was REVOKED, not just Cancelled. This is pretty serious issue. It likely means you were not truthful when you applied for your visa or there is something in your past that you did not reveal at the interview or in your application or at the airport. Who wrote the mark in your visa? The Embassy or the immigration officials at the airport?   To answer your question, you may be able to get a new visa but you need to be 100% honest regarding whatever issue led to the visa being revoked.

  4. Charfranie, just out of curiosity why did you tell the Consular officer you were going to Las Vegas and Disneyworld if you wre actually going to a Warriors basketball game? That seems like misrepresentation to me unless your plans changed. You likely would have been approved either way. Just curious.
