  1. My brother has been waiting 365 days for his NOA2!!!! I can't believe this!! He has asked to speak to tier 2s and submitted an inquiry and it came back they were doing further "security checks." What does that even mean? They didn't allow him to submit another inquiry. This is very frustrating, everyone is already at NVC stage and he's still waiting. It's been a year tomorrow--- does anyone know what a darn "security check" means??

Edit: His country is Slovakia and Nebraska SC

  2. Has anyone, by any chance, had something accidentally incorrect on their DS-260? For example, a question was answered incorrectly regarding if my husband has ever applied for a tourist visa before. I have a lawyer so this was her assistant's mistake. When I called to question this, she told me to take that page, mark the correct answer, state the dates, and have him sign/date beside the question and to present it to the interviewer. She also answered the question where it asks if he speaks more than one language wrong and his birth city wrong. ughhh. I didn't see the DS-260 until she gave it to me to take to the interview which is next week. Is this something I really need to worry about or am I stressing too much? TIA

Hello everyone just checking in we have been in Juarez since Wednesday my husband did his fingerprints yesterday Thursday we got there early but they ask you to line up about 10 minutes before your appointment there are a lot of people but is a rather fast process and today at 6am we were at the clínica médica internacional for his medical check he got 4 shots and in total he paid $420 US dollars we were there for about 1 hour 45 minutes all together and later today around 2:30pm we go back for the results

what did you need to show to get the fingerprints done? Just his interview appt letter and fingerprint appt letter?

I called the NVC today and they informed me that it was completed on October 28th!  Has anyone been scheduled an interview in Juarez recently? If so what was your CC date?

My CC was 10/26 and no interview date yet. I've seen some for CDJ who have an interview date with 10/4 CC so at least we know they are working on October cases now. Hoping for a mid feb interview at the latest.

    Hi !

I-601 and I601a are two different waivers for the same inadmissibility (unlawful presence)

I601a is the one you get approved prior to leaving to your interview in CDJ...like NVC is notified not to schedule your interview until that waiver is approved. Our's took about 4 months.

i601 is the one you can't apply for until after you get denied at your interview. The interviewing officer will hand you a paper stating you need that waiver, i don't know the current wait time for that one. I have heard it takes longer and you wait in Mexico until it's approved, and then go to another interview to show your approved waiver.

Gotcha. Thank you, I appreciate your response! Since he's in Mx, we will have to wait to submit it after the interview.

You must be referring to the I601a waiver... This waiver is for unlawful presence. You need the waiver because you will be denied at your visa interview (because of the unlawful presence). After you are denied you show your approved waiver, and then your visa can be approved. IF HE HAS NO OTHER REASONS OF INADMISSIBLITY.

We have this same waiver :-)

the visa type is dependent on the petioners relationship to the beneficiary, it’s not dependent on the waiver.

Ok, i've been following since I started the NVC step back in May. Sigh.

    checklist 8/26

    cc:10/26

and Im still waiting for an interview to CDJ. My question is though, my husband will be denied and need a I601 waiver. You said you had the same waiver? How long did you wait for it to be approved?

    Hey everyone,

Are there any other July filers who are still waiting for approval from USCIS? It's been almost 290 days and no approval yet on my case.

We are still waiting, pd July 29th. I submitted a report late February and had not heard back from them. So I called them at the beginning of April and they somehow submitted another request? I don't know. I'm with you, it's so frustrating. They told me they were waiting for the background check. Then soon after, I received a letter from them about the first inquiry in February?! It mentioned to call back after 60 days if I didn't receive an answer by then. Im going to call again and ask about that letter now. Approaching 270 days.

    Hi 29casst.

We just told them we were waiting for 2 weeks more than the time they announced and we were already way past the processing time so we wanted at list an answer to our inquiry. And they submitted an other inquiry for us, visibly specifying that this inquiry should have a quick answer. And few days later they visibly sent one but we still didn't receive it so I kind of doubt they really did...

Thank you so much for your response! We are still waiting for another response. Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

OMG !! We FINALLY got our approval ! It is such a relief ! It isn't over but at list we can move forward !

Congrats!! One question though, in your previous post you stated that the reason you had not received a response to your service report was due to the background check. I called and got the same response last Wednesday. I asked if there was anything they could do to speed up the process and they said no. What did you tell them? And did you submit another service report? PD July 29
