  1. This probably a silly question, but my wife has my son's transcripts, of course they are in chinese. My wife wants to translate them and then get the translated information "stamped" at the school. Evidently this has been agreed upon with her and the school. My thought is to go to the "notary", but wife says she doesn't want to pay the money ... any suggestions or knowledge on this matter?

  2. Congratulations!!!! :dance::dance:

That is great news, when is she set to come to US?

    Nita (F)

After waiting for aprox 485 days from P1 to P2, my wife was finally approved for an IR1/IR2 for her and my step-son.

I must say, I love her even more today that I did more than 2 years ago when we married. Good Things comes to thos who wait.

I'm waiting until she has the visa in hand in the morning, about 7 hours. Then I will make the arrangments... hopefully in 2 weeks.

  3. I do not recommend lying only because I have NO idea if they can tell if your husband has used drugs or not. However, the wait times vary case to case from what I can tell. It could be soon but it could still be a few months. It seems that USCIS has no rhyme or reason to their processing

    two recognized tests:

Blood test - residuals remain but a few weeks

Hair test - residuals remain a few months

Marijuana use can be detected with a blood test for about 3 months, if used frequently.

The hair test can go back at least 1 year

Cocaine use cannot be detected after about 10 days with a blood test.

  4. Well I wish you the best of luck for you and your wife. Let us know how it goes because I will also being doing the GuangZhou thing down the road. It look like once NVC approved you it took about 3 and a half months to interview.:dance::dance:

I will let everyone know the results of our interview.

This is a good time for you to read the James' Shortcut, if you haven't already. are you aware of www.cflgallery.com? IT is for petitions in China.

I was well prepared when I was ready for NVC. which is when you get the NVC number(GUZ). Good luck.

  5. Hi, what do people generally use for evidence that bona fides the marriage? Since I have a foreign spouse, i don't have a joint property or lease. Can affidavit be from non-US citizens who were present at the wedding? Alternatively, can the affidavit be from US citizens if they were not present at the wedding?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

It is important to let us know what stage of the process you are in as the answer would be very different...

I am in the process of sending my I-130 and in the instruction it says that I need to send such proof

You would need items to show that your relationship is for real as there is an ongoing relationship, not just a wedding/marriage.

Items such as, airline tickets showing you have visited your wife.

Passport pages showing you went to her country.

Phone records, emails, letters, receipts of flowers sent.... bascially anthing to show that your relationship is for real and not just a procedure to simply get your woman into the U.S.

  6. Hello. A quick question please: If a U.S. citizen was married in the Dominican Republic to a Dominican woman, what visa should be used to bring her here? Does the marriage in the D.R. help the situation?

    Thanks

If the US citizen is married to the Dominican lady, he would need to file an I-130 visa. He would have the option to later file a I-129f(k-3) to maybe bring her here a little faster, but I'm not sure the I-129f beats the I-130 any longer. You cannot file the K3 before first filing the I-130.

Besides the I-130 would have better benefits, such as she could leave the country in an emergency if she had to travel home for an sick relative. She could also get a SS# right away and a 2 year green card or even a 10 year Green card if they are married for more than 2 years when she arrive to the U.S.

What forms should I(wife) expect to receive from the Consulate for the CR1 once the interview has been set?

  7. I got an email from USCIS, it said my I-129f was denied. I was not surprised. I wasn't interested to be truthful since my I-130 is finally moving.... Should I be concerned ??

Will Guz have anything to say about this in the future when my wife goes to the interview? It is my understanding, the I-130 and the I-129f(K3) are separate, you either interview for one or the other. Since I have waited for almost 2 years for the CR1, why would I want the K3 now?

The Denial was due to me not sending supporting documents with the application. I was told at the time of applying for the K3 that I only needed to send a copy of the NOA1 for my CR1 and G325a, I was told this by a USCIS operator over 4 months ago, I didn't hear anything again from them about additional papers until little over a month ago.

    Current Status: Denial Notice Sent

On July 1, 2008, we mailed you a denial decision notice for this case I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). The notice explains why the denial decision was made and the options that may be available to you.

  8. Hi, im glad i found this forum, im new here. i hope u guys can help me.

im under CR-1 and my husband already paid $400 for visa fee, now we are waiting for DS-230. I would like to ask we still need to pay D-230??? usually, every form or package we received we need to pay. please, help...if DS-230 if we need to pay on this form. thank u very much!!!

If you already have passed the I-130... I beleive you are referring to the IV fee($400)... if you have indeed paid this, the AOS fee($70) was alredy paid,... so to answer your question, No. there are no more fees associated with the DS-230, you wil simply fill the form out and returned them with the cover-sheet. once approved, it will be forwarded onto the U.S Embassy. Then you will wait for a interview date. That's where I'm at now.

  9. This is a great way to dupe people. They utilize confusion with the cultural differences. I dated someone here in america who already had his GC, but had some seriouse mental issues. I chalked them up to Cultural differences, which took me a year to figure out. As I kept trying to leave him, his issues got worst. I look back and think..."what were you thinking"... OH yeah I wasn't.

20/20 hindsight - too late. I too had red flags but just gave them the old "it's just a culture difference" once he starts adjusting things will be better.

I say report this immedialety to ICE, The OmSbudsman, The FBI, your congressman, Senator And even the U.S. Attorney General, Thuis way you will have documentation.

I was duped by someone... and they used me.

  10. You attached the W7 to the year you are filing for. If you filed for this year already....then you have to wait until next year.

I disagree with this. I filed an amended tax return in August of 2007 for my 2006 return to add my wife to get her an ITN. She sent a letter from her email address to me stating that she would give me permission to sign the w-7 form for her, plus she sent me her passport, which I returned during my visit this year. I also took our chinese marriage certificate.

I think you need to file an ammended return for the year you were married, it shows an additional tax year with her in a bonafide relationship as evidence

So what did you do for 2007? Amend that one as well or file late?

    http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw7.pdf

    Instructions:

    2. Your original, completed tax return(s) for which the ITIN is

needed. Attach Form W-7 to the front of your tax return. If you are

applying for more than one ITIN for the same tax return (such as for

a spouse or dependent(s)), attach all Forms W-7 to the same tax

return. After your Form W-7 has been processed, the IRS will assign

an ITIN to the return and process the return

I filed married in 2008 for 2007, I had her ITN number then.

I received an additional $900 for 2006. The problem was getting the check cashed since we didn't have a common account, but I was able to get it done at my local credit union.

2007, not a problem, electronic filing /auto deposit.
