Now we can proceed with the wedding palns! We are so hapy.

We had our interview at the London embassy yesterday. As most of you may know we have been very concerned about having to do a waiver based on his convictions. They were 3 convictions fom two incidents, We prepared a waiver and were expecting to be denied, but as we atteneded the last window, the woman who interviewd us asked questions about the incidents and then stated that "because america allows one CIMT conviction and the other two were not we would not have to do a waiver" and she approved us! We are so happy and cant believe it, but it can happen to you. Just wanted everyone to know there is hope of approval with convctions and witout a waiver. But I would say it is always best to be prepared jst in case. Message me if you have any questions.

We had our interview yesterday at the London embassy. We have been totally terrified of getting denied based on a CIMT conviction as well as two others over 13 years ago. I had prepared a waiver and was ready to submit it. We went through the interview process which took about 3 and 1/2 hous and came out with an approved visa and no waiver needed! Just thougt I would let everyone know.

I would definatly say Oregon...cause I am from there....but theres little crime, not too expensive...pretty, no natural disaster hazards, no sales tax, and you dont pump your own gas....only down falls are lots of rain.

It took ours 46 days to some in the mail....we are in England.

Do the I 601 forms as well as the hardship letter and any accompaning letters of referance need to be officially notarized when signed? If they need to be, where in the UK can this be done? It seems that in the states you can get things notarized anywhere for near nothing, but here it costs a lot and I am not sure exactly where to go? Your advise again please....Thanks so much.

So we plan to file at our inital interview if necesary, but I am not sure how to pay for the waiver fee...the USC is in London and will be until past the interview...the UKC will be paying for the waiver fee...can we pay at the embassy? Will they take cash...Credit card etc? Not sure what to do about this... Advise from someone who has filed the day of the inerview in London please...

how much time

Well today was officially 40 days since we sent for the Scotland Yard police cert and we still have not recieved it yet...I have never checked the mail so many times in one day since we were waiting for this Da#m thing to come. Anyways still is not here. We sent back all other forms over a month a ago. We would have sent for police cert earlier but our attorney strictly told us not to. So it all depends on this before we can send in checklst and then wait for an interview date. How long from the time you send in checklist to the time you get interview date...anyone know? We are thinking about sending in checklist even though we dont have polce cert yet...

Has anyone here with a minor criminal convicion that is over 14 years old ever gotton a visa wihout a wavier?
-
I have read some places that we can download and fill in the forms and have a hardship letter written so to bring both to the interview. If in fact we are denied can we then submit the wavier to the consolur officer at the time of denial? Will this save months of waiting for processing?

I guess you have to choose your battles, I would say rent it, we are renting all our grooms mens tux's, but the bridesmaids are buying thier dresses. Ya the tux does not fit that well for a few hours on the wedding day, but will he ever wear it again if you buy it for him?

Hi friends,
i had been to the us embassy today to ask for packet 3 but the lady out there asked me if i had all my documents ready so that she can give me an interview date.she then handed over the ds 2001 and asked me to fill it and sign.before i gave her the form i asked her if i am supposed to recieve and immigration packet .she just handed 1 form asking all the documents required before the interview no packet just 1 form.
from which i dont have the ds 230 the IV fee bill and the affidavit of support.
i dont understand why they need a AOS for k3 visa i thought its for the CR1.
anyway they said they will give me the letter for the medical after i have all these docs.
i am very confused and dissapointed.is this normal
the ds 230,AOS and the IV BILL was given to my attourney and i expected all of this to be in the file which NVC sends after their job is over.
please tell me what should i do now.
dear friends please respond to this
thanks and god bless u all
bombay.
ok so this is how it goes...
NVC sends your case info to the us embassy in your country
When the embassy recieves your case they send packet three out to you...
some peope have recieve packet three in a few days, ours took 12 days to get to us.
once you recieve packet three schedule your medical, send back the forms,
do not send back he checklsit unless you have all you documents togeter.
once you have all your documents
send in the checklist
then you will recieve you interview date via the post.

As far as we know, only one form is flled out by the applicant. It is one page of yes or no check boxs for former and existing conditons. Also name address, etc. That was all we had to fill out and bring to the interview. it may be diferent for your county though.

We had the medical on Friday. It went ok, with the exception of the disclosure of his past STD of Chlamyidia. We thought they might be funny about it, so we got a certificate from the clinic he was treated at saying that he was cleared of the condition. We had to fight tooth and nail for it.
Well, that certificate is not good enough for the embassy, they want a letter stating how the diagnosis was made, what treatment he was given such as antibiotics taken, for how long, and the ultimate result. Then signed and stamped by the doctor. The medical physican does not think it will be an ultimate problem as long as we provide the proper documentation.
This is a problem because the clinic is refusing to give it to us. They said that they told us to lie on the medical history form (which they did) because there was no way anyone had access to the info, and it is our fault for telling them. We said we could not and would not lie. They said it is not thier job to write letters for people and that they are too busy. I have called them about 5 times and will be calling them again on Monday. I will be calling the hospital administrator too. I do not expect them to give it to me the same day, but I think they owe it to us to set a date and deliver it by then.
They jsut dont care wha kind of effect thier attitude and difficulty can have on someone elses whole life.
Any advise on the situation?

I also thought that the leter you had sounded fine. I understand where your worrying comes from. But like everyone else has said it will be ok. But I really did think the letter was ok.
