No it doesn't matter. People just like to get ####### with the details on here sometimes!
I stapled my stuff together, stuck it in folders and mailed it without a cover letter. Guess what? Got my Green Card OK.

Tell me one thing: Do you know any married couples other than other VJ people, who have both names on their utility bills?
    I can't.
Joint bank account, certainly, perhaps credit cards as well, but nobody has two names on the gas bill!

Its more than just a drop box, there are people there that do a pre-pre-processing of your forms. They check that forms are all signed and the fees are included, they also cash the checks at the lockbox itself, which is in fact run by a Bank (BankOne to be precise). I believe that the Chicago Lockbox also reorganises your application into the folder format used by USCIS. After this initial checks is done, then they forward to the NBC.

Thanks for sharing this valuable information. I am sure we will start seeing more and more people getting such weird interview locations and it is very helpful to be aware of the reasoning.
When my wife and I lived in AL, and thought I will apply for naturalization while living there, we knew that we were supposed to go to Atlanta (which was a 4 hour drive). Most probably if we still lived there, I would've received a similar letter for a remote location...

I always paid with a personal check, they cash it instantly, have the canceled check as proof they received the application. And with my checking account, its free!
And the way most banks are today, play hell getting your money order money back if your application is denied for any reason. Like forgetting to put an N/A in some box. With a personal check, simple, just tear it up and write another.
There are times you have to have a money order for certain business transactions, but you don't with the USCIS, so why even bother?
Also found out I get the best service with the USCIS by sending the application first class mail. Every important document you receive from the USCIS is via first class mail. Hell with the application, make a duplicate copy, so no major loss. I sincerely believe if someone their has to sign for your application, they get pissed off and toss it in a pile some place.
    Just my experience, share yours.
