Trying to think of reasons for this but it all seems strange.  It appears they want to confirm he is the biological father and not someone who claims to be the father.  There's a black market for legal documents such as birth certificates.  So it seems there was doubt about the birth certificates provided, perhaps it displayed characteristics of a fraudulent document, and therefore the reason behind the DNA testing.  I just can't think of why they want him to have another appointment.

Just to update you.  This morning Robert had his second interview and his Visa was approved!!!!!! They took his passport and told him to pick it up in 10 days!!!! :jest::jest::jest: God is Great!!!!!

I AM FROM DR, my interview was on november 20, i was put on AP because a wrong police record, on december 15 they issued my visa and i pick up my passport on december 20,and on december 22 i was with my fiance at USA.

i hope everything go ok and quick with your case.

i know how painfull is be on AP

I am so glad to hear that! Congratulations and welcome to USA :)

You are correct about the birth certificates, specially in DR.  The email I received yesterday said 221G appointment. His appointment is tomorrow morning.  All we can do is pray. This has been a long and painful process and it has certainly taken a toll on me.

  6. If anyone has experienced this or has information that can help me understand, I would greatly appreciate your input.  We had our interview in October. At the time we were told everything is in order and they kept my fiance's passport.  They asked him to drop off the original legalized copies of his 2 children's birth certificate and after that they would contact him in 7-10 days to pick up his Visa. ( They asked for the birth certificates even though his children will not be traveling to US, only my finace).  He dropped them off as requested. Two weeks later they asked him to show up at the embassy for further instructions and gave him 221G requesting DNA tests for his children and returned his passport to him. I consulted an immigration attorney and was told they did this in error because the children are not traveling with him, but they have the right to ask for anything they want and it's best to comply.  We paid $500 for each DNA and the embassy received the results late November. I was assuming once they were received his Visa would be issued.  Instead today he recieved a call asking him to set up an appointment online to see a consular regarding his case.  I recieved an email with several upcoming dates asking to select one for 221G follow up.  I am totally freaking out because I feel like this is a second interview and I cannot be present! If everything was in order would'nt they just notify him that his Visa is ready and to drop off his passport?? This has been the most dreadful process. It feels like a never ending nightmare!!! They dont answer any questions or give us any information at all. I really dont know how much more of this I can take :(:(

  7. Hello.

My fiance's  K1 Visa was placed in AP as they requested DNA tests for his two children, even though they will not be traveling here with him at this time.  He had the DNA tests done on November 7th at one of the approved labs.  He was told the results would be sent to the Embassy in 10  business days ( November 21). Has anyone experienced this? If so, how long did it take for them to approve and issue the Visa?  This is such a frustrating experience :(

We received the same letter. Visa was denied because the police certificate was not translated into English.

Did you have it translated and resubmit? I looked at your timelime.  Seems our interview was on the same day. Where are you in the process now? This is so frustrating!

Could be anything. Best thing to do now is to not drive yourself crazy worrying over it. Wait until he gets the instructions. It could be something as simple as another document.

Have you check the case status online?

Yes but it just says Administrative Process.

  9. My fiance and I had our interview in Dominican Republic on October 5, 2017.  At the time we were told everything was in order but they requested an extended and legalized birth certificate for his 2 children.  My fiance dropped of the documents on October 13, 2017. Today he received an email from the Embassy in Dominican Republic stating the following

We need you to come to window #13 with your legal identification.  You may visit us Tuesday-Thursday (7am-10am) to pick up your passport and a letter with instructions to continue your case.

I am ready to lose my mind! It does not indicate if his Visa is approved and passport is stamped, or if his Visa has been denied and that is why they are returning his passport. I'm beyond frustrated and in tears at this point.  Has anyone been through this that can enlighten me as to what I should expect?:(

Yes...When I went for the K visa interview all went well but the visa officer asked me to submit UK police certificate (I didn't take it with me) so he gave me back my passport and asked me to drop off UK PC and Passport at local US consulate. Until then my status on https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA== was "Administration Processing". After I dropped off UK PC & Passport the status changed from AP> Ready> AP>ISSUED..all within 7 days. After that within 2 working days I went to collect my passport at the local US consulate.

    Thank you. This helps!

  11. My fiance and I had our interview on October 5, 2017 in Dominican Republic.  At the time we were told his Visa was approved but would not be issued until he provided an extended and legalized copy of his son's birth certificate. Once received, he was advised they would notify him via email when his passport/visa is ready for pickup. However they did not give us a time frame.

My fiance dropped off the documents on October 13th. I've followed his progress on ustraveldocs and his status changed twice since he dropped off the documents.  First "Passport being delivered to post" then "you passpost is still with the Embassy."

Have any of you experienced this? Any idea regarding the timeframe this usually takes?  It's difficult to make travel plans or any plans for that matter without knowing if it will be a week, a month or longer.  We are very happy and grateful to be approved but also anxious and a little nervous about how long this could take.  Thanks in advance.

Ok thank you so much this helps. I didnt know i needed his birth certificate. The intent to marry letter from him also has to be in English correct.?

Yes. That is correct.  I mailed my fiance via DHL the intent to marry letter and he returned it signed and notarized to me along with his inextensive birth certificate. Each mailing costs us $65 each.  If you have Facebook look me up Nelly Santos and I can send you copies of how I put my package together.

You will need his birth certificate, the INEXTENSIVE one.  You must have it translated and mailed in along with a notarized translator's affidavit along with your petition.

I havent filed yet in the process of getting everything together to file.. this site has helped me a lot whenever i have questions.. i actually have a question my fiance's father has a long name and my fiance has two last names how do i apply them on the application.?

I wrote it exactly as his name appears on his birth certificate and his cedula (ID).

  15. I did not expect this process to go this FAST after receiving our NOA2! :jest::jest: We recieved our case number and notice to proceed from the Consulate in Dominican Republic on July 25, 2017 via email.  That was only a week after we received our NOA2 hardcopy.  We are in the process of getting everything in order (the plan is to bring his 6 yr old son as well) and hope to schedule our interview in the first week of September.  The anxiety is finally over and now we are just EXCITED!!!!!:D:wub:
