Hello guys, is anyone knows about the AsawaExperience website? I read it once before and it was also a well detailed and informative forum about the real life experiences of all Filipinas undergo Medical exam, and Consul Interviews. Wherein they narrated everything from the Medical to US Embassy processes, outline all the Pre-screener interviews down to the Consul line of questioning. If someone knows this forum, kindly give me the link coz i really couldnt find it anymore. Thanks!

Yes this is very helpful info.
Amy will fly on Continental May 16, and she has worries about all of the transfers.
Like twinkle30, Amy wants to know if she will have to go to baggage claim, then re-check her bags at each stop. Obviously, she will need to get her bags at Hawaii for inspection.
Also, how much time is enough at Hawaii? Continental flight 2 from Guam to Houston, via Hawaii, only stops for 75 minutes. Should she take flight 2 to Hawaii, but take the next flight to Houston?
Thanks so much. Any additional info will help calm Amy's nerves.
Dave
i flew from guam to hawaii in june 2006...the airline was very fast in getting the bags off the plane and on the baggage lane...you go directly from the plane to the baggage pick up...they give you a free cart...pick up your bags and head right for the customs area...here they check your papers and send you to the baggage inspection station...they will then take your bags to your next plane...i had a short time between flights and was very impressed with the service there...very unlike most US airports...they had there act together...hope this helps!

my friend is here on a k3 visa...her daughter came with her on a k4 visa...they foolishly did not file AOS before July 30.
the teenage daughter wants to file EAD. Someone told me that after July 30 that to file EAD you must include the NOA-1 for the filing of the I-485 AOS...
IS THIS TRUE?
THANK YOU

My wife recently and finally received her green card. Finally, because we had to re-file due to our missing both her biometrics and interview. We received our letter stating that they had received our case and were given our case number, but we missed the biometrics and interview because USCIS mistakingly typed in the wrong address. Instead of Apt.#104, they sent it to Ap.#10. We have our paperwork showing that we filled in the right address, and we have letters from them coming to the right address and a letter that they re-sent showing their mistake.
We were denied due to our missing the appt. and when we received notice it was past the date of appealing the decision so we had to re-file.
My question is does USCIS ever refund the fees even if it was their mistake?
Thanks VJ for your help.
Firside
the posters here have given you wrong information...anyone stating that USCIS does not give refunds is taking out their you know what...
i speak from personal experience and have received a refund from USCIS recently...

Well, do u have any info.?? We want to get married in a neutral country of Panama. She is from Colombia and I am from the USA. She has NEVER been to Panama. We want to get married and file k-3. Thanx.I think that u misunderstood me. AT THE CONULATE LEVEL. I undersatand that I cannot get around the USCIS processing time. Panama is supposed to be quicker. Thanx.
No I did not misunderstand. I realize that you posted this in the K-3 forum but wanted to make sure we knew what you were thinking as sometimes people post "out of topic" questions in forums.
yes my wife and i were married in a neutral country...Palau
make sure that they are authorizied to issue K3 visa because you must have your interview in the country you are married in or the embassy that is assigned to that country

Tony & Olga
I have had a sneaking suspicion and it is starting to be borne out. I have noticed on another board that I came across that there are those that have had the I-129F approved and then the approved I-130 is being held for AOS in the US despite what one has put on the I-130 to apply for a visa at consulate abroad. I have a feeling that we are going to see more of this over the coming weeks. They look like no longer giving the option to either enter on the K-3 and go back to the consulate unless they pay the extra fee and file the I-824, nor to take both paths through unless filing the I-824 and fee. I hope I'm wrong but its sure looking that way.
this link http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/PN_i-129f.pdf should provide the needed insight to understand this new direction for the USCIS...enjoy

Congratulations! Yes I am one of the lucky ones who recently had both the 130 and 129F approved on the same day (11/15/06). But in my case they read my I 130 wrong and said they were holding it because (they say I wrote that my wife was already in the US) WRONG!
But I decided just to go ahead and persue the k3 VISA for two reasons, one being that they will take longer to process the 130 at NVC with all the additional forms and bills etc. and the additional expenses that you have to put out just to see if it would reach the embassy faster then the K3 VISA. The K3 should be processed through the NVC in approximately 2-3 weeks, but I have yet to receive my case number, but I am hoping maybe by this friday I will call and find out it has been received and forwarded! Good luck!
tony...one word of advice...make sure you respond to the HELD I130 because when you go to AOS after Olga is here on the K3 it may hinder you.

yeah i have been watching this happening quite often lately...i think it may have something to do with the reorganization of the USCIS...first all cases being transfered to CSC or VSC...they may be consolidating investigation between the I-130 and I-129s...make organizational and financial sense (but wait we are talking about the government here...lol)
it would be a dream come true for all the new petitioners for this to flow like this from now on.

Checked online and got the approval this morning. Actually it was 133 days, but who is counting.
finally...CONGRATS
i hope the remaining process is speedy for you!!!

Fellow Vjer's
Thanks to all of our wonderful friends here on Visa Journey that helped and encouraged Mel and I through our K-3 Visa process.
We flew back from Manila On October 30th and after a 12 1/2 hour flight went through US Customs at the Port of Entry at Los Angeles International Airport.
The Immigration officer was very kind to us and made the port of entry process fun and pleasant for both of us.
We were very nervous about what would happen but all that the officer did was open the brown envelope from the US Embassy that we hand carried, looked Melindas Visa in her passport, placed the I-94 form inside Mel's Passport and told us some tips for getting her Green Card in the next few months.
The longest part of the process at the P.O.E. was just waiting in line, everything else was simple.
We are at Disneyland today for a couple days and will drive down Pacific Coast Highway as we make our way back to Northern Arizona.
As we woke up together on our first day in America in our new life, we thanked the Lord for being so faithful to us and rejoiced that all of our dreams have come true.
I know that some of you fear that your dreams will not happen but let me encourage you that we also felt the same way through this long process. Just keep doing everything you need to do and stick together through it all, and your day will come too, you will see.
Hang in there, praying for all of you still in the process. Hoping your hopes and dreams come true just like ours have.
Rob and Melinda
congrats..Rob and Melinda...thank you so much for the encourgement...we all need it dealing with Manila...lol

Yesterday I received the I797C Notice of Action for the I130. I eagerly raced to the post office today to send the I129f. I checked the USCIS website and thought i had read the directions carefully, but apparently not. anyway long story short, I sent the I129f to the texas address listed on the form when it should have gone to Chicago.
When I was getting ready to put the duplicate package that I sent away, something on the form caught my eye and that was the fact that K visa applications should be sent to Chicago. I immediately freaked out and burst into to tears because I realized the error cost Manoj and I precious time.
Anyway I called the service center to see what I needed to do and basically got three answers within the same conversation. I've now walked away more confused than ever. Adam from customer service said that they would mail the paperwork back to me and it could take up to a month. THEN he said "but if somehow you get a receipt issued and it has anything other than MRC on the receipt number you have to write in to the address on the receipt and ask them to forward it to Chicago." He then said, If you get a receipt number with MRC at the beginning of the receipt number you will be okay and you don't have to do anything. Now I'm totally confused.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? what did USCIS do? How long did it take?
Sorry guys but I'm just really low now. I can't believe I did something sooo stupid.
I DID THE SAME THING...here is my story...
well i cost eden and myself 3 weeks processing time...
i guess for us the server going down had a good side to it...because there was little posting activity the last 24 hours this morning i went to visa journey just looking around...i always just stay at WOF...
i noticed a post by someone that said she had sent her k3 to chicago...and i thought to my self that she did wrong because it should be sent to texas...later in the day this started to bug me...so after i returned from the beach (lazy did not work today...lol) i pulled out the instruction for the I-129f that i sent 3 weeks ago to the texas service center...
and darn...there it was hidden as the last address..."if this petition is for your spouse send it to chicago"
darn...darn...darn...i came close to crying
i called the texas service center number and they told me that they would not foward it to chicago and that if they issued a noa1 for it i would have to call them back, cancel it and start over...
well i have jumped ahead, wrote a letter to texas service center to day withdrawing that petition and have already packaged and ready to express mail tomorrow morning a new I129f package to chicago...i am glad i made a complete copy for eden...i am sending that package tomorrow and i had extra passport photos of both of us...
darn...3 weeks lost sad.gif
needless to say i feel like #######
well how is this for mass confusion...lol
some of you may be familiar with my post last week "i screwed up"...it has had over 190 views (pretty good title huh?) lol
any way as stated the guy at USCIS told me to cancel that petition that was sent to the wrong address and stop payment on the check because THEY WOULD NOT FORWARD the K3 petition i sent to the wrong address.
therefore i followed his instructions and sent a new K3 package to Chicago and they received it on this past friday. rolleyes.gif
today my door bell rang and it was the postman...he had a package for me from my sister...however he also handed me a letter from USCIS...of course as soon as i saw this my heart leaped out of my chest and onto the floor...
well i opened the letter...guess what it contained...the NOA1 on the orginal K3 petition that i sent to the wrong address THAT THEY SAID WOULD NOT BE FOWARDED...
guess where the NOA1 was from...THE CHICAGO OFFICE!!!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
now i have a K3 in Chicago with a NOA1 and a check with a stop payment on it....AND a K3 in Chicago with a good check but no NOA1 yet (they just received this one the past friday...remember?)
a great example of THE RIGHT HAND NOT KNOWING WHAT THE LEFT HAND IS DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOT WHAT??????
Therefore...i got a letter from the debt management center wanting to collect the $170.00 on the first I129...so i called them they said never stop payment on a check to the gov't...i then receieved a letter from Chicago saying they would not proceed with the first I129 until the check was paid...
I had to make a decision...so i paid the $170 to the debt management center, wrote a letter of cancellation for the petition...then filed a protest with the debt management for the USCIS bad advice...
outcome:
1. got the noa2 for the second I129 in 35 days
2. got the $170 back from the government
3. got the NVC letter already
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU
