  1. Hello all,

I would like for all to know that my fiancee had her interview today and approved!!! She will will pick up her visa on the 21 of November. News like this makes all the waiting and delays worthwile. She had an appointment at 8 a.m. Jakarta time. With a 12 hour difference, I was watching the clock here 8 p.m. My heart was racing and palms sweating with anticipation. An hour later, I was waiting for a email or phone call. Finally I see an email from her and then her happy phone call. Her interview went very smoothly with simple questions like, when and where we met in person, engagement, and hotel where we stayed. Now we can make definite plans. She will fly from Indonesia to Hawaii and I will fly from North Carolina to Hawaii and we will marry there, have honeymoon and fly back home together. :D

  2. Update!!!

USCIS after prodding from congressman, finds elusive petition and forwards to NVC. NVC will forward the petiton to the consulate in Jakarta within the week. This has been such a relief. When I recieved the envelope I was almost too scared to open  I totally understand how others here that have been waiting for what feels like an eternity. I would say be patient but that is easy to say when your life has not been put on hold and I felt like giving up and almost did. :(

  3. Hello folks, I finally have good news about my case. I have been busy and not able to post. Last week I recieved a letter from my congressman about the status of my petition. It was retrived and forwared to NVC. Today I recieved a letter from NVC that states that now the the petition will be forwarded to the counsulate within a week. FINALLY!!!!!!!! :D Now if I can get rid of all of these new gray hairs that have grown since this whole thing started

  4. I recieved my NOA2 in may and I have called and called USCIS and NVC. Given the same answer give them 90 days, then 30 days and still told to wait. I have even called the emabassy and they haven't recieved anything. I have faxed a copy of NOA2 and given to NVC and USCIS and my congressman. I have no idea what is going on and it seems like no one else does either.

  5. Has anyone had had to file I-824 for action on approved application? I recieved a letter from USCIS stating my case status is OUTSIDE PROCESSING TIME and they want me to file an I-824. Why do I have to send ANOTHER 200 dollars after 4 months of waiting to get the USCIS to send my APPROVED petition to the NVC??????????

  6. Has anyone had to file form I-824? I have not lost my notice letter. I recieved a letter from USCIS stating my case status is outside processing time and want me to file I-824 for a duplicate copy of apprival notice. Does anyone know what is going on here? I have already contacted my congressman. This is my first time applying for a fiancee visa and I thought things would be simple. I am pretty much disgusted with this. I applied in Feb approved on May 1 and been waiting and waiting for USCIS to send to NVC. And now they want 200 more dollars to send to the NVC and who knows how long a wait for that. I am sick of this runaround and thinking about canceling and marrying in her country and filing a DCF. I did not know about that before and think that might be a better way.

  7. After filing a petition in Feburary and waiting for 3 months for approval on May 1st I got NOA2. After 4 more months of waiting for the petition to be sent to the NVC, I contacted my congressman's office here and he gets this reply from USCIS stating "A review of this case in our electronic records has revealed issues needing further research. In order to ensure we will provide your office with a full, complete, response our office will need additional time to investigate. A case will be opened on your inquiry, please allow 30 day for a complete review and response." Does anyone have any idea what that means? I have to wait another month just to find out what the delay is

Why approve it in the first place if there was a problem???

  8. You are not alone. It has been 4 months since I have been approved and I am still waiting for my petition to be sent to the NVC. It is so frustrating feeling so helpless. I have been trying to explain to my honey what is happening but she doesn't understand and starting to have thoughts of maybe ending the relationship. People around her are giving here ideas that I don't want to marry her because of this unending wait. She quit her job because she thought she was getting her visa soon. It took almost 3 months for approval. I have been trying supporting her financially but the stress has been getting to her. I am trying to be supportive but things seem to be going downhill...

  9. Stacey, thanks for the reply,

I called USCIS and finally talked to a customer rep. He could only tell me that my petition was approved. He said I had only 3 choices. 1. contact the Director and that would take 6-7 more MONTHS for a reply, 2. fill out some form I824 (cost$200) and 4-5 MONTHS of more waiting or 3. contact congressman. I am making an appointment tomorrow to do that. It seems like they don't want to send it. This has been very stressful for me and my honey. I have been supporting her because she quit her job in hopes of getting her visa. Good jobs are hard to find in Jakarta and she is concerned about signing a contract spanning serveral months and not being able to get out when she finally gets her visa.

  10. I am a new member here but I have read thru the forums many times. I filed my petition in Feb and approved May 1. Recieved NOA2 and heard nothing for over 3 months. I called NVC amany times and they have no record. I faxed them a copy of the NOA2 and they sent a letter back tell me to call USCIS. I don't get home from work until around 4:30. I called USCIS on Aug. 17 around 5:00 and they put me on hold for over an hour. At 6:30 they disconnected my call and a recording tells me to call back the next day. So I call back at 4:30 and they do it again. I am on hold to 6:15 after closing and they disconnect again! Do they clear out all the calls after closing? I was afraid I would have to take a day off of work just to talk to someone. The next monday I call again and finally talk to someone and they ask me questions about the petition then give me a case number and tell me to give them 30 more days to look into it. Is this normal?
