  1. Written inquiries, changes of address and requests to upgrade petitions due to naturalization of the petitioner should be sent to: WC The National Visa Center, 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth NH, 03801-2909 or email NVCINQUIRY@state.gov . Please note that NVC is not open to the public. Unfortunately, some people have traveled long distances to inquire about their case in person, only to discover that we are not able to meet with them.

    Thank you Dean iWait

  2. Here is the information for the NVC. Please remember to note all your case information on your correspondence with them. Good luck

  3. Hi VJ friends,

My financee works in Canada but she is Chinese, and we requested the interview to be in Vancouver. But her working visa will expire soon, and our case is under NVC administrative processing, for which there is no timeline. Can we request the case to be transferred to China? If so, could anybody let me know the address of NVC so that I can write them a letter? Thank you for your response.

BS: We filed I129F at VSC

    Timeline:

    Vermont Service Center

    Aug 22: NOA1

    Nov 8: NOA2

Called NVC Nov 30: Under administrative processing

  5. I am in Canada now. I have already done my fingerprinting at the RCMP and sent it to be processed in Ottawa. I just got it all back and everything is fine. Clean record. Can I use it? I haven't been told to do it yet by the US Consulate. Someone told me a few months ago to get it done because it may take some time to process them.

I read a post beofore from someone in Canada. The post says you can go to your local police station and get a criminal record check in 15 minutes.

  6. Dear VJ freinds,

I read from others' post that when people go to their medical exam, the doctor will ask you to undress. What is more "horrifying" is that they will examine people's private place very closely. Is that true? So embarassing! ;)

I'm going to have my exam in Vancouver. Do you know if the doctors will do the same here? Can I ask for a female doctor when booking an appointment?

    Thank you.

  7. NVC is under Department of State, and USCIS is part of Home Land Security, 2 different departments of the government. USCIS will not have case status for DOS cases.

You need to give it a few weeks, then contact the Embassy or Consulate that your case is going to.

Since you have no data in your profile like Visa type, Beneficiaries country, or a timeline I cannot give you a better idea what to do after it leaves NVC.

    :time:

    Hi YuAndDan,

Thank you for your reply. I had my timeline at the bottom of my post. We applied for K1 and the bebeficiary country is China.

I also got to know from NVC that our case is under AR and need to wait about a month.

  8. I just called NVC and this time got a live person. I was told that the case was received and new case number was assigned. But when I check the case status on-line, it says "cannot find this case number". Does anybody knows if we can still track case status with NVC on the website where we used to track status with the service center? Thank you for reading my post and waiting eagerly for your reply.

    Timeline

    NOA1: Aug 22

    NOA 2: Nov 8

  9. Dear VJs,

Can we automatically track case status with NVC when we call them at 603-334-0700. I didn't find a function to key in my receipt number and get the status? I ask this because no operator ever answered my phone. Whenever I called, they were busy. They didn't even put me a hold. They just returned me to the main menu or just say "Good bye".

  10. Dear VJ friends,

Does anyone who has/will have interview in Vancouver know who sets the interview date? The Consulate or the foreign fiance?

Also, the NOA2 says the approval is valid for 4 months. What does this validity period means? Does that mean the interview has to take place within 4 months of the NOA2 date? What if the interview is set after 4 months of the NOA2 date? Thanks for reading my post and waiting for your kind reply.

  11. Hi VJ friends,

My fiancee is working in Canada but she is Chinese. When we submitted our K1 application in August, I wrote her address in Canada on I129F. I also chose Vancouver as the interview place. But her working visa will expire in May 2007. After that she will go back to China.

Considering that our incompetent lawyer sent our file to Chicago (wrong place), we don't expect to get NOA2 before my fiancee's visa expires. What shall I do now? Tell the USCIS to change the interview place to China? Or change her address to that of her friends in Canada so that her friends can take care of the mail? Has anybody ever changed address of your foreign fiance(e)? Thank you for your reply.

    Our timeline:

August 16: Lawyer sent I129F to Chicago (wrong place)

August 25: NOA1 with receipt number beginning with "MSC", which I think is the National Benefit Center

    August 30: Touched

Now: hoping somebody from National Benefit Center can forward our file to the right place

  12. SANGRE...I was surprised to read your situation. My fiance and I had a simular problem. We married in the USA and filed for a K-3 visa. one and a half years later they denied our petition declaring that my fiance's previous divorce was not accepted by immigration. The previous divorce was handled in a court outside the USA. They then said it was an invalid divorce and therefor our marriage was void and considered her still married. To correct this problem my fiance had to refile the divorce again within the USA(where she is from) and then refile for a fiance visa. I dont think you will be able to avoid the same situation. If they say your divorce in not valid then they consider you still married to the other individual and they will not grant a fiance visa to marry in the USA. She also tried getting legal advice about her previous divorce before we married but the lawyers in her area would not touch it and gave no advice. She had to hire a lawyer in her state that deals with international divorces. It wasn't cheap but now that it has been corrected according to immigration's satisfaction our fiance application was approved within 3 months. We are now just waiting for an interview date. our only reason for still waiting was related to RFE's of my documents. I wish you best of luck and pray you wont have to face what we had but be sure that the advice given to you by an attorny is correct. Wouldn't hurt to contact a couple more lawyers to see what they say. Don't let them know what the fist one adviced since they might just agree to easily without researching it or thinking about it.

Also our first petition( k-3) was transferred to Korea for investigation before it was denied.

    Hi gugu24,

Why was your fiance's previous considered invalid? My fiance has a similar situation. His divorce was also handled in a court outside of the U.S. Will that be a problem for our K1 application?

  13. I am trying to feel hopeful with the flurry of March approvals from CSC but nothing is really helping me feel better..... I feel depressed, sorry for myself and ..... utterly lonely.

After sending my application on April 7th, I first waited (with many of you) for the IMBRA situation to resolve. Then I had to fly to India in June. My luck:: IMBRA RFE arrived just a day after I left the country. While in India, I thought I would spend some good time with my fiance. As luck would have it, my fiance suffered heart attack two days after I arrived there... we spent 5 weeks in hospitals. ICU, operation theatres, recovery room, OPD...... I was so stressed out that I myself ended up in ICU for one day.

Is there silver lining here? Yes! Our love grew stronger and stronger. We braced rough time together. We developed a bond that cannot be broken now.

The delay in submitting RFE, put me right in the back of the line..... !!

I miss him more now....I cry all the time. Would I get lucky and get approval notice now?

Please never give up your hope. Best wishes!

  14. Hi guys, I'm super worried because our K1 application was sent to Chicago by mistake, where K3 is processed. But we have been issued NOA1 and the receipt number begins with MSC, which denotes the Missouri Service Center (National Benefit Center). Have any of you ever met this situation before? Do you know if MSC will forward our application to Vermont Service Center, where we should have sent our packet? I have been counting the days to see my fiance again, but now things seem so pessimistic.

  15. I was checking the status of my k1 visa today,

I noticed the Chicago Office sent our I-129F to California Processing Center

Has anyone ever experienced this, I am a bit suspiciuos with this

The application was sent to Chicago office on the 17th of July?

Any suggestion will be kindly appreciated,

    Thank You

    Hi Victoria,

I have exactly the same problem as you. My I129F was also sent to Chicago (wrong place) on Aug.18. I was in an utter despair until I saw that your case was forwarded to the right place. Now I'm looking forward that Chicago will also send my application to the correct service center. Good luck!
