Yeah!!!!!!!!! Congratulations Jaymal! :) With all the rains falling all night into this morning, I was thanking God that today was not my Interview Day, totally forgot today's your day.

Details, what was your experience like? did you by chance get the Chinese male Interviewer?

I got there about 7:30 but had to wait a few before they started queueing 8:15 and 8:30.They moved pretty fast I guess in case the rain started again. You were soooo right I had to ask which section was for Immigrant visas because I sat down with a group of people who were non immigrant visas.lol

I was directed to another area where they explained the courier registration which I did prior to the interview.went inside documents were collected..passport,birth cert, police record and pics.also was fingerprinted..I was then asked to sign a document stating I would not get married before leaving for the U.S. Waited another 30 mins for my name to be called.. Then it was time:D..strangely enough no nerves were present.lol  Consular Officer was a very upbeat young lady..very pleasant and smiling

    Questions:

Who is the petitioner to you?

    Is the petitioner working?

Have you ever been married/ charged with any crime?

Stayed in the US more than 6 months?

Then she explained no fingerprints for your son due to his age and that was it.. Your visa is approved, you will receive in one week:jest:.was outta there by 9:50am

    I tell you.. I feel 10 lbs lighter.lol

So, i am back with the details of how my journey went today.

I had a 8:00 appointment and arrived at 7:30, there are two lines, to my fellow Jamaicans please ask the police officer which line you should join, passport, photo and appointment letter are then asked for to be checked and then you proceed to go through Security. FYI, there are a host of things you cannot take into the Embassy (including makeup, flash drives, cellphones etc.), so don't bring a lot of stuff when you go there.

I then got a number and a form to fill out for DHL registration, but I had already done that online so I proceeded inside to the area for Immigrant Visa Applicants. Let me just tell you I was nervous as he'll! It seemed like I was there waiting and waiting forever! lol. Anyway, my number was called and I went to the window and was asked to hand in certain documents and my finger prints were scanned. The lady then told me to have a seat and listen for my name to be called. While waiting I was paying attention to what was going on, FYI, it doesn't help your case to keep saying 'i don't know' to the Consular Officer! That's all I heard coming from this one man, he didn't even know his Mother's date of birth! lol, the CO was not impressed at all!

Anyway, by 10:00am my name was called and I went to the window for my Interview (still nervous I might add). The CO was a Chinese male and he was basically straight forward, he gave no eye contact, not even a smile, he asked me to swear to tell the whole truth thing and took my fingerprints again. The questions I got where.....

    1.   Who is the Petitioner?

    2.   What is she to you?

    3.   Where does she live?

    4.   How long has she lived in the U.S.?

    5.   What does she do?

    6.   Have I ever been charged with a crime?

    7.   He also tried to trick me with a question, but it was a good thing I was actually listening to him

No request for updated W2's or I-864, all in all the worst part of the experience was the waiting, the interview was a breeze and over before I knew it. He then said everything looked okay, that my visa was approved and I could expect to have it back within a week. What I was curious about though was that the lady who I submitted my documents to told me my medical hadn't arrived as yet, but at no time did  the CO indicate that to me, so I'll wait and see if I do get my passport back within the week time frame that was given. My status is at Administrative Processing now.

No more watching for the Visa Bulletin to see when i will be current or waiting for correspondence from NVC! God is good and I am happy, happy, happy!

To everyone else waiting, hanging in there, your time is gonna come :)

Thanks for the detailed info EP.. I am counting down my days.lol:whistle:

Thank you so much, I got approved!:jest:

    The questions I've been asked:

    - Where lives your mom?

    - What do I plan to do there? study or work?

    - When I plan to go there?

    - Where I gonna stay? Will I live with my mom?

    - Why I want to go to live there?

And then explained, that when i'll receive a GC, if i'll overstay for more than a year in some other country, it'll become invalid and asked to come on Thursday to pick up documents:)

I'm soo happy, that finally it's over and wish you good luck guys too:)

Adding my congrats Lain:jest::jest:... I am really happy for you..

You and others have given such great advice and encouraging words.. THANK YOU:D
