If you did not receive an I-94 when entering then yes you put N/A where it asks for the I-94 info. USCIS is aware that a good number of Canadians do not receive I-94's. My wife never received an I-94 and we put N/A on the forms, we were never asked about it.
Thank you for your reply.. Did you get I-485 approved without any document for your legal entry?

Hi, wow, I haven't been on here in like 10 years! My letter explaining that I'm a Canadian citizen and don't require an I-94 at the border was sufficient. Good luck!
Thank you..

I got an RFE about having to provide evidence of my non immigrant status and eligibility to file the I-485... they're asking for me I-94 number and I don't have one. Everyone told me to just put "No I-94/Canadian Citizen" in the section where it asks for an I-94 number... and so I did that.. and now they're asking for it. I don't know WHAT to do. I was inspected but have no proof. I figured that applying for the I-485 and sending in an I-130 along with it was sufficient for eligibility... as that would provide me with an immediately available immigrant visa number, right? So anyways, I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you prove your non immigrant status?? How do you prove you were inspected if you have nothing in your passport saying so? I really don't want to have to fill out the I-102... I shouldn't have to. Other people did what I did and didn't have any problems.. but now I have no idea what to do. Anyone else have this happen to them? I really have no idea what to do. Should I send a letter explaining my situation? (being canadian, not needing a visa to enter the us, no I-94, etc)
How does you letter turn out? Did your case approve without I-94?

You can locate your record here https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home
Thank you for your reply. I tried this site. But I couldn't my record. Because I entered USA by a car and the officer didn't scan my passport.

Board officer doesn't provide I-94 or stamp on passport. How do I prove my legal entry?
In part 3 of I-485, about I-94 or nonimmigration visa, can I put N/A?

When you fill out part 3 of I-486, what if I don't have I-94 and visitor visa?
Canadian citizen doesn't require B2/B1 visa and I-94 form when they enter USA.
They don't put stamps on passport when travelling by land.
can I leave it blank?
Does anybody have this experience of filing I-485?

Typically they don't. I was trying to pull records of all the dates I had been in the US for my DS160 and the i94 website didn't record anything in the 5 years of regular travel :-/
I found out I can see the record of entry made by air. I cannot see any travel record made by land.

While you're not obligated to file an i94 like others, your entrance might be very well recorded in the i94 system. I would give it a shot if I were you. You can select a Canadian Passport in the dropdown menu on the I94 website ;-)
Thank you for your reply.
To retrieve my record, do I have to pay to apply?

Have you tried to pull up your I94 on the website?
I-94 must be completed anyone entering US except US citizens, permanent residents, and Canadian citizens visiting. This means Canadian citizens don't have to.

I am Canadian citizen to applying I-485 in US
As a initial evidence, I have to show I entered US legally. I entered US by land , so they didn't put any stamp on my passport. What else document I can show to prove the legal entry?
Thank you.

Yes, I am Canadian. When did you approve I -485? Was it recent or long time ago?
