My K1 visa was approved around September 2011 and the expiration of the visa itself was around February 2012 so that would be like 6 months. Count about 5-6 months from the moment you are approved at the interview at the consulate. Not the medical.

    Thaaaank you!! ❤❤❤

Hi. Congratz on your K1 approval. When they approved my K1 some years ago, I had to pick it up tat  a DHL office in the downtown (Avenida Cordoba). Once you have your approval at the interview, it takes a couple weeks to get the actual passport and visa on it.

Thank you! Do you have any idea what is the timeline to leave? My medical was in December so I guess 4 months? I have till June? I'm so anxious! Lol

  3. Fiance (petitioner) and I started this process exactly a year ago. We had our interview on the 23 of Feb. We were approved but I stupidly forgot my original birth certificate at home, so I had to run to the embassy to drop it off.

The consul said we were approved and congratulations.

I had overstayed in 2012, less than a year, so I received a ban of three years. Consul said they would have to update that information in their systems so I wouldn't have any trouble at the POE. At that moment I knew I was approved.

Fiance and I have two kids together, I think that helped. Both of them were born in Argentina and have US citizenship.

This past year has been excruciating. But we did it.

I had my medical in December so I'm assuming I have left 4 months to leave. My passport hasn't arrived yet, not sure if I have to go pick it up, but I will see about that next week when the payment to DHL hits.

I can't wait to go back home. I hope my apartment here sells very soon. Lol. Trying to be positive. I'm relieved, really.

  4. I had my K1 interview a week ago. My fiance (petitioner) was there with me and our kids during the interview. It was short and sweet. We got approved but I forgot my original birth certificate at home and got a rejection letter. I felt so dumb, but consul said everything was good and to submit the birth certificate directly to the embassy. I did that the same day we had the interview.

I checked CAES to see the status and we were on "admin process" for a few days, then it went to "ready", "admin process" and finally "ISSUED" on Friday.

We are so very happy. :) Good luck!
