  1. I am totally confused because I have found different informations all over the internet... I will try to call the Belgian Embassy tomorrow but they were not really helpful for now...

All I want to know is that if I am not living in the U.S. and all my accounts are in euros, can I be the sponsor? How should I do then?

As I said I have 26,000€ on my account converted in 32,000$ which is 160% of the minimum requirement. I have a job here in Belgium and I'll definitely get one in the U.S. when I'll arrive there. This amount cannot be unsignificant right?

  2. Thank you for your answer.

But it raises other questions... As I said I am living in Belgium and I have a job here which has nothing to do with a U.S. company. When I will go to the U.S. I won't have a job since I'll quit the one I have here in Belgium, and I will have then to look for another one in the U.S.

That is the reason why I have savings : 32,000$ to prove that I will have enough to live there, find a job etc...

  3. Hello,

My fiancé and I just received the papers about all the documents required for the interview. One of them being the Affidavit of Support Form I-134. I will be my fiancé's sponsor.

But here is the deal. I am a Belgian-American living in Belgium. I have 26.000€ on my account which is convertible to 32.000$. But since I am working in Belgium, I have a Belgian account and in the form they are asking for "Balance of all my savings and checking accounts in United States-based financial institutions", which I don't have since I am living in Belgium. So how can prove them that I have enough money?

Even my annual incomes are in euros and not in dollars. How should I do then?

    Thank you!

  4. Hey everyone!

We sent our I-129f in June and on the 15th of the same month we checked the status and here's what it says : "On June 15, 2017, we received your Form I-129F (...) and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice."

So we received the notice but there wasn't any instruction to follow. Just the procedure to follow if some of the informations on the receipt were wrong, which wasn't the case.

Now it's been almost three months, and we still haven't heard anything from them. Is it normal? What should we do? We both live in Belgium. Is it possible that since we sent the form during the summer holidays the processing time is longer?

    Thank you!

Since only one other person has replied, I'll go ahead and give my opinion.

In reading VJ's guide on paying immigration fees, it is not even stated that a delivery address be placed on the payment.  I too paid with a check, and did not put a payment address.

Now I understand, this is different with Money Orders, as they ask for an address.  If it were me, I'd go ahead and make the check payable to: "US Department of Homeland Security" per the VJ guide:

    http://www.visajourney.com/content/paying-immigration-fees

And have the Money Order addressed to the USCIS address (if sending via US Post Service):
    https://www.uscis.gov/forms/direct-filing-addresses-form-i-129f-petition-alien-fiancee
    P.O. Box 660151
    Dallas, TX 75266

As long as you pay the correct fee and have the money order filled per the USCIS instructions, I don't see them not accepting your money order.

Thank you for your answer :)

Since we're living outside of the US I guess we'll have to use the express mail and courrier deliveries address.

    USCIS
    Attn: I-129F
2501 South State Highway 121 Business
    Suite 400
    Lewisville, TX 75067

And we should write the money order to that address along with the package. Right?

  6. Hi,

My uncle in the U.S. accepted to make the money order to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Tten he will send it to me in Belgium to complete it. Then afterwards we will send everything together with the filled form.

But he asked me which address he should write on the money order, and I couldn't answer it. Which address should we write on the money order? Is it the same as the USCIS address where we will have to send the form?

    USCIS
    P.O. Box 660151
    Dallas, TX 75266

Or is it another one? Since that one is for the USCIS and not the DHS...

  7. Hi,

My fiancé and I are finalizing the K1 form, we just have to send the money (535$) to the Homeland Department of Security but it's been weeks we're trying to gather informations about where and how to do it from Belgium since my fiancé and I are both living there and none of us has an account in the U.S.

We tried to call the USCIS, they couldn't tell us anything, same for the German based USCIS. We tried to call the embassy in Belgium, they told us to ask to the bank. We ask to the bank in Belgium, they told us they don't know how to do it. Oh yes, they told us that if we make money order to the U.S., money should be drawn from a U.S. bank, which are non-existent in Belgium...

What the ?! They are all just useless!!

So my question is... How did you do the money order/check/payment? To which entity? Which address?

Thank you if you can help us because we're desperate...

  8. The thing is like we want to live in Seattle but we don't have any relative there or in the west coast.
So, for instance, if we write my family's address in New-York, we will have to go there at and live around there at our arrival. But then how much time will last the procedure to get married, receive the papers, fill them, and everything else? 3 months? 6 months? Do we have to stay there during all the procedure not being able to travel around?

  9. Hi everyone,

I am an American born in Belgium, I have both nationalities. My father is American and my mother is Belgian. Next year I intend to live in the US with my fiancé who is from Suriname but living in Belgium.

But we're facing trouble filling the I-129f form.

At some point they are asking the address where my fiancé intends to live. The thing is that we don't have any address right now in the US, we both live in Belgium. We just know we want to live in Seattle. However I have family in New Jersey and Orlando, so should I put their address? Does that mean we will have to fly there first and live there for a while?

Was someone in the same position before?

    Thank you for your help!
