Hello,

My wife is from Thailand so some of her documents (birth certificate, and name change form when she changed her name as a teenager) are in Thai. 

I've seen some conflicting reports online--can she be the one who translates them-as she speaks both English and Thai- or does she need an official translator to do it? 

And also, after its been translated (by her or someone else), does it need to be notarized? She thought it did have to be, and we took it to UPS to get it notarized but the guy was like "I don't speak Thai so I can't sign whatever this is because I have no way of knowing what it says". Which made sense, and I've also seen conflicting reports as to whether it needs to be notarized or not. If it does, how do we get that done since it's in another language?

I was born in the USA. What is a certificate of naturalization/do I need it? Or can I leave those checkboxes empty?

So I was born in the US, and I'm applying to get my wife a green card and am having a few issues with form I 131. We are married and she is living in the US with me currently on a tourist visa, after being on a work/study visa through Au Pair in America for almost 2 years.

So for her I 131 is she applying for Advanced Parole or a Re-entry permit? Her Au Pair friend went through the same process and applied for it as if it was a re-entry permit, but looking online I'm wondering if its supposed to be an AP? 

For Part 5 (if it is a re-entry permit she's supposed to get), her friend who was in the US for less time than her checked box 1a (6 months) and was approved---but when reading the question, it should be how long you've spent outside the US in the last 5 years--which would be longer in her case and my wife's case. Am I reading it incorrectly?
