    Took about a month from being sent to NVC to getting to consulate in Montreal to them notifying me. If your timeline is going to be about the same, she and you will both get something in the mail in about a week (they send one to both of you). It will have a checklist you need to prepare, and EMAIL to the consulate. Once that happens, you get packet 4 with interview instructions in about a week.

    Take a look at my Timeline... those dates are accurate for my case, and to the same consulate as you.

    Thank you for the reply, what exactly did you have to email to the consulate before getting your packet 4?

  2. So, on June 20th we last received the update as seen in the title with description saying;

    "Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal. If you have already scheduled an interview appointment, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the Consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview
    For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV."

    I assume we can't really start applying for the interview until she(the Canadian citizen) receives something in the mail. Maybe we're just being too impatient, guess we figured she would have received something by now, does this usually take a few weeks or is there a way we can try and schedule an interview now before receiving anything?

    Thank you!

    Tracking says it's at the post office in Dallas. Signature Confirmation Required. Dallas USCIS is a lockbox facility so I don't know what that means.

    Yeah, I filed for a lost mail request last night and it gave me an updated scan this afternoon as available for pickup. It looks like they loaded my packet on a mail truck when it was already at the correct post office earlier this week, just took a ride around town with no updates all week. thanks for the suggestions all, was worried for the worst case scenario

    Nope.. you're going to have to wait out a few more days to see if you get an NOA1 from USCIS. Did you sign up for MyUSCIS to track your case? Did you send an g-1145 with the packet so they can notify you electronically?

    I'll sign up for that MyUSCIS now, thank you. But yeah, I have a g-1145 included in the packet. I was just suspecting I would receive indication from USPS that my package was dropped off in their P.O. box, especially because I asked for signature required.

  5. Hello, long time lurker, first time poster. Thank you for all the information this site has provided, it has definitely helped in creating my packet.

    Anyways, I sent out my packet to USCIS on Friday, February 24th with 2 day priority through USPS. My last update with the package reads;

    February 27, 2017 , 4:07 pm

    In Transit to Destination

    The most recent update before that shows it was leaving a USPS facility in Dallas and the expected delivery date still says February 27th.

    I find it strange that it's in the right city but has just kind of stopped making progress to its nearby destination. Anyone have similar experiences? It's unfortunate that I'm already having hiccups in this whole process before it has actually began.

    here's the tracking info if anyone's interested ***********************
