I came here for almost 3 months now. My language is just good enough for everyday living. I started of my life here with fully expected to make some new American friend by being a volunteer at City non-profit organization. I have been meeting a lot of American clients and American co-workers so far. But not even close to "friend" relationship was happened.
I have learned from my previous experience when I was studying aboard (not here) that it would take some time to be friend with foreigner. But at least I saw some sign of making friend in the beginning of my stay unless I 've never seen one since I got here...sigh~
About my husband, he doesn't have many friends here neither. He just moved here for a year. All people he knows in this area is his colleagues. We went to party with them sometimes. But I faced a lot of icy moments because I don't really know what to talk and catch their attention.
The best thing for us (exspecially for me) is the support from his family. I 'm really happy that he has a really kind and supportive family. However, we live 2,000 miles away from them. I just wish we could move closer to them some day.

I also use my maiden name as my middle name and my husband lastname as my lastname after marriage same as your wife.
So all of my application forms for I-485 were completed in that way.
As long as you keep all forms (i.e. SSN, Driver's license, etc.) consistent with your name it should be less complicated.

Miss USA,
According to RFE, USCIS requested 2005 Tax transcript only. So, I think all they need is the most recent one.
For all fees, we paid by personal check too. They cashed it without any problem.

Hi,
Here is just my opinion. Because I got a RFE for I-864 (seem like many people got it too). I think after you send out your package you should request a tax transcript from IRS. It will take about a week or two. Just to make sure that you don't need to wait for it if you get a RFE for it and it doesn't cost anyting.
Good luck
P.S. I also sent them the photocopy of my sponsor W-2, passport, driver's license, birth certificate as well.

Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.
The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:
Certification by Translator
I ___typed name____, certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and____________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled____________.
Signature
Date Typed Name
Address
http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices...nal/index.htm#H
I sent them a photocopy of my birth certificate (Thai langauge) and attached the translated which I certified by myself. I think it could be alright to certified by myself since I didn't get any RFE about it yet.
-
We got the same RFE with you. So, we finally sent all of these to them;
1. photocopy of W-2.
2. Tax transcript from IRA (You can order by mail or phone $0 and will take about 10 to 15 days).
3. Employment letter again but up to recent date.
4. the most recent pay stup.
After I sent them my RFE package my case was transferred to CSC right away as soon as they got it. Hope I don't need to interview, though.
Good luck.

I got a RFE for my husband's tax transcript. So at the end, acording to myself, I sent them the photocopy of my sponsor's 2005 W-2, 2005 tax transcript, proof of current employment, and recent pay stuff.
Good luck.

thank you stina for your fast reply.

thank you Peter and Stina. I 'll keep my fingers cross for everybody too.
I have a question about "touch". Will we get any email if they touch our case or do we have to check the case online to find that out?

I always wish that I can join this topic...Yeah and I did. They just transferred my case to CSC yesterday... Right now, I am trying to stay calm and waiting ...
