  1. Hello,

I am a US citizen and invited my Colombian boyfriend (he is 23 years old and I am 24) to come stay with me for a month or so while I am out of school and only working, we have plans for him to meet my family and friends and to go sight seeing and camping. We met while I was studying abroad and we fell in love. I want to sponsor him and I have all the paperwork on my end that is necessary for that. He has financial ties and family ties that will prompt him to return to Colombia after this month, and I would also like to go visit his family and meet them eventually in the future. We don't want to get in any trouble, his intention isn't to work, we just want to be a part of each others' lives and continue our relationship and especially meeting each others' family is very important to both of us.

What is the likelihood that he will obtain a visitor visa? Is our case too weak? I don't want to lie or have him lie about anything...but some people say that having a girlfriend or boyfriend is something that creates ties and thus they will deny his visa at the embassy. I really wish it wasn't like that in this country. What is the best that I can do as the sponsor or invitee and what is the best that he can do as an applicant?

Thank you for any and all help!

    Sincerely,

    Lauren
