You think we a joint bank account, family phone plan, letters on the same address, bank statements with both or our nameson them, a notarized letter from her parents staring we  live with them and affidavits from her parents and friends will be enough?

Personally speaking, I think that is enough evidence considering you've only been married 3-4 mos ago. I was nervous at first about the evidence we were going to present, or lack thereof. But I think most interview officers are already inclined to notice whether the marriage is genuine or just a scam. Each interview is not really the same as what others had and can't really be compared. Just be yourselves, answer confidently and I'm pretty sure, you'll do just fine. Good luck! :)

We have our interview scheduled for next month and even if we have lots of pictures, call logs and letters to each other, the only financial proof we have is a joint bank account because we only been married 3 months, what else do you guys recomend us to bring?

We've also only been married a little over 3 months when I had my AOS interview last Aug. 30, '17.  Didn't have EAD either. The officer did not ask a lot of questions about the relationship, just asked how we met but didn't dwell on that. He said that what he wanted to see were evidence of commingling. We've brought Joint bank account statements, credit cards with same number, my husband's 401K and life Insurance stating I'm the beneficiary,  also his health and dental insurance in which I was added to. Letters and cards addressed to both our names, marriage banns on the local paper (officer only glanced at those). I've also brought a bunch of pictures but he didn't look at those. Interview lasted for about 15 minutes, was approved and got the GC in the mail a week and a half later.

  3. I was just wondering if anyone experienced this kind of glitch. Filed for AOS on May 30, 2017 and had an interview for it exactly 3 months later (Aug. 30) which was approved and got the GC in the mail 2 weeks later. However, I received a Request for Further Evidence for both EAD and AP in the mail, asking to submit a copy of our marriage certificate as my (last) name didn't match up with their file and service records. There was a date until when to submit the RFE and it's months away so I wasn't really worried and just waited for the GC as we thought that those other two won't be necessary once GC is on hand or thought that there will be an update on the online status saying that it will be invalid as the required service/document has already been obtained thru other means (GC). It still stated that RFE has been sent though, so we'll just go ahead and send what they require today. Don't know how it will go but won't really hurt to do so as it's just a minor requirement.

  4. Filed on May 30th, didn't hear from EAD nor AP, it just said received the entire time but got my interview notice for the AOS scheduled the 30th of last month, was approved and now waiting for the GC in the mail. (hopefully it won't take a long time) We didn't really follow up on any of the filed papers and was just lucky to get an interview date within the time period (3 mos). More concerned about CGFNS, they are taking such a long time even just to acknowledge that they received the required documents! Hope you will will get your EAD and AP soon, and GC too. good luck!

The instructions list what they view as examples of proof. That does not mean that if you don't have some they will deny you. The more you have, the better, but don't sweat it too much if you don't have that many. The evidence is there to support the interview not the other way around. I understand you're nervous but it sounds to me that you'll have plenty.

Other things you might consider, if you have them; power of attorney, car insurance (if you are on his policy), Car title in both names, Cell phone plans

Yes, I'm getting a bit flustered reading the checklist. Car title is a good idea, we do have that. However, both our cell phone plans are under his parents', can we still use that? We do have sufficient pieces of evidence now that I think of it, thank you for your reply. It is sort of a relief to read stuff like this.

Showing that you have a bank account in both your names is good, and that you were added to his health insurance. You really don't need a whole lot for the AOS interview, they know you only moved here in the end of April and have only been married for very few months. Bring some photos too together with what you already listed.

For the ROC step later on you will need a lot more, so start preparing for that as soon as you can.

Thank you for your reply! That's right, haven't been here that long and only been married a little less than 3 months. Will just be bringing what we have on hand. ROC probably will be what we need to prepare for as soon as possible.

  7. Hi! I received my interview notice last week having been schedule on the 30th of this month and in it was a checklist of all the requirements that me and my husband should bring. There was a lot! For the bank statements, got cards with my name on it linked to his account  as he had added me on it and he can get a copy of that, has also been added to his insurance but that's about it. Got SSN and had my last name changed too. Our house is under my husband's name as he'd bought it years ago, as well as all utility bills, so I have no contracts, leases or whatever with my name on it. Will the previously mentioned stuff be enough? We do have photos, cards from well-wishers and to each other, banns of marriage his parents made for us, etc.

It will take around 3-4 months from when you file your AOS package including the EAD and AP to get the combo card. GC can take anywhere from 3 months to over a year.

Not too bad. Had become somewhat of an expert in the waiting game through the entire K1 process. Ha, 3-4 months, I'll be ready for you. ?

Thank you for taking time in replying to my queries. :)

Your B2 will not be valid anymore.

You have to wait until you get your AP or GC so you can get back in again and don't have to start all over again.

    Thanks for the reply. :)

Oh that's sad. Gotta have to bid adieu for a while then. Heard  AOS and getting a gc takes some time. Hopefully it wouldn't take as long for an AP approval.
