Exactly as above, there is no specification as to what kind of wedding or ceremony has to be done. We just did civil ceremony at courthouse, a lot do.

Okay that's what I was trying to tell my fiance but we're both a bit worried even yet. Big decision to be left in someone else's hands. We just want the wait to be over is all.

  2. The only things were really worried about are the fact that we have no marriage plans set in stone. Our goal was to be approved then get married in a courthouse and then a few years later once we've both made some friends here, and saved up enough funds we will have an actual wedding. However we aren't sure that's what they're going to want to hear.

We do both have mutual friends from online that know of our relationship and that we are in this process but we can't exactly expect them to fly out for a wedding halfway around the world.

If anyone has advice to help with the stress I'd greatly appreciate it.

Well it's just a copy of the tax forms (1040 etc) filed through turbotax with the irs, since that's what it appeared to be asking for.

It's easy enough to get your IRS tax transcripts from IRS.gov and plenty of people have had success with it. Just to be safe I'd say go with that. Best not to play with fire this late into the game.

The secondary spouse? Does that mean the co sponsor?.... its telling the spouse of the person whose tax return it is how to get their own copy.. not applicable to you as this is your dad getting his own..

Also just the regular get transcripts online and printing them off will do just fine? or does this mean I have to get it mailed to me..

Yes , just down load from the site and print off.. make sure you have multiple copies to keep just in case..

Thank you for being so helpful. You're a good person :)

    • Tax Return Transcript - shows most line items including your adjusted gross income (AGI) from your original tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as filed, along with any forms and schedules. It doesn’t show changes made after you filed your original return. This transcript is only available for the current tax year and returns processed during the prior three years. A tax return transcript usually meets the needs of lending institutions offering mortgages and student loans. Note: the secondary spouse on a joint return must use Get Transcript Online or Form 4506-T to request this transcript type. When using Get Transcript by Mail or phone, the primary taxpayer on the return must make the request.

  6. I'm trying to print my co sponsors Tax Transcripts on the IRS website and there are 4 different options for the previous years.

    1: Return Transcripts

    2: Record of Account Transcripts

    3: Account transcripts

    4: Wage and Income Transcripts

I'm not sure which ones I need to print, I'd imagine it's the 4th one though?

I print a Wage and tax statement and it's rather hard to read, as some of the numbers are replaced with letters. For example one of them says 'A,AN2.RR'. If I send these to my fiance, will the consulate and whoever else see's it be able to read this? Or do I have to go about getting these a different way.

Get copies of the tax returns and w2 etc and runmwith that.. try to go online to the IRS website and order the transcripts so you have them just in case.. Follow the instructions  on the intervies letter very carefully.

I've requested them to send me an activation code in the mail because they wont accept my phone number, probably because my dad is the account owner. I'll try to have my dad get his however.

My only other concern is that I just switched to this job from my last, which is was at for a year, making 15~ an hour. Before that I was working for minimum wage here and there. My current job however is 20 an hour and full time. I'm hoping my dad co signing will negate the fact that my employment history looks so spotty.

IRS transcripts are preferable, otherwise you must have:

Copy of the tax return, w2 and any other supporting documents that were submited with the tax return.  for the past 3 years.

It is better to get the IRS transcript as it is the official IRS documents. Tax returns and w2 can be made on any computer by anyone and say anything.... tbe transcript represents what you filed with the IRS and is the  best way to avoid RFE.

Your father can apply for his transcripts online, and they come immediately, or by post and they'll take 2 weeks or so.

I was getting really excited for this to be coming to an end. Now it seems like I was ill prepared and misinformed as to what I needed. Worried things aren't looking so good anymore.

If you get the IRS tax transcripts they will come with all the attached documentation so you dont have to worry about that... but if you are using copies of the tax returns, then you must make sure all documentation is attached.... ,looking in the body of the return will show you if 1099 have been reported or not... if they have been reported, and you dont submit them, a definite RFE will come your way!

Are the W2's I have from when I did my taxes sufficient? Or do I need to get full IRS tax transcripts? I just looked online and it says it can take 75 days to process that request. Which is worrying because my Fiance's medical is in a week and the interview I'm sure will be scheduled shortly after that.

1099 are the forms used to report non wages etc... so if there is any income from bank account interest, investments, self employed, these are reported using the 1099 and attached to the 1040 just like the W2. Retirees for example might have no W2 earned income, but report all their income on the 1099 from their invest, ents etc..

Ok since I'm fairly certain he makes no money outside of his day job, it's safe to assume I can leave the 1099 out?

If I get a letter from who he's currently employed from it will only say he's been there since about august. That's why I'm thinking if I couple it with the one from the union, which states he's been with them since 1994, that will be good enough. I dont mean to be repetitive but we're nearing the final part of the wait and I just want to be sure I'm on top of everything!

General rule I would say should be three years worth if available. Same as with the AOS portion letter on they ask for three years of tax transcripts.

I supplied three W2's, 6 pay stubs, and luckily my company(been here 6 years) is fairly small so I can ask HR to make something and they have it within a day or less so they can put specifics like hourly wages and such.

I can get the 3 years of W2's, 6 paystubs and a letter of employment from his current boss. He's an electrician for the union, so the letter they gave him is lacking his salary and hourly, however it does state he's been employed there since 1994. Do you think a letter of employment from the Union and one from the boss he's contracted out to will do better?

There are two areas for sponsors which require proof:

    1. Tax returns.. IRS transcripts preferred or returns with w2 and 1099 attached

    2. Proof of ongoing stable income with income level above the 125% household threshold. This is where you need letter of employment and proof of ongoing income... suggest using 6 recent payslips for this as well as the employment letter.

I can get the W2's and unsure what 1099's are but I'm sure I can get them some how.

He has copies of past paychecks from his current employer. He's an electrician for the union but he's currently contracted to another company who's paying him.  I'm not sure how long he's been with this company for, but perhaps a letter from the Union and one from the company he's currently working for will suffice?

Generally salary/hourly wage and all is good to have on it. If he can supply W2's for the years covering the employment from the company that should help.

Yeah I read about the general idea of it on ***removed*** i believe it was. But his hall told him they only have a 'generic template'. I'm going to get him to call them and see if they can make an exception.

I can however get his W2 for the past few years. He's been there 20+ years, how many should I have to be safe?

That said, what you might have read is for people who are unsure if they meet the requirements or not. For example if they have only been at the current job for a short time, or just got a pay raise. In those cases the income history might be "borderline", and as such up to the discretion of the IO.

That was going to be my next question. I left my last job, where is was making similar money, to go to this one. Both jobs I was making over the needed income but I've only been employed at my current one since the 27th of last month. Or that was my start date rather, I accepted the position 3 weeks prior or so.

So on the I-134 I list my fiance and my son (who i pay child support on and he stays with me on the weekends, not sure I mentioned the child support so I my as well now) as dependents.

I dont have a W2 for my current job as I only started working there a month ago, I do however have a W2 from my old job. So do I bother sending that in as it doesn't particularly pertain to the case anymore?

Given what you've said I think it's best to have a co signer in my case as I've switched job. Which I read was ok to do as long as you continued to make enough money.

  15. So list my son on there as partially dependent? or completely dependent?

So you're saying I dont need a co signer if I make more than enough? Because I make 40k a year USD which is more than enough for the 1 dependent i have, my son. I've read it's 'frowned upon' in a sense to have a co signer, but it's better to have and not need, than need and not have.

I don't mean to be repetitive I just want to file this right. Were nearing the end and it's almost time for the wait to be over. Just want to do everything right.

  16. When I was reading about how much I need to make I saw it's 125% of the poverty line for your household size. There are 3 people that live in my household, including me. So I thought I had to make 125% of the poverty line for 3 people, which I do.  But on the I-34 Affidavit it doesn't ask for my household size, just dependents. Now I dont pay for any of my grandmas or brothers stuff so they aren't dependents to me, correct? Do I list them or leave them off since I dont support them financially in any way.

However I do have a son, but he lives with his mother and I pay child support, so do I just list him as a partial dependent? I do get him on the weekends when he has no school so partial dependent seems correct.

Lastly, there is a portion where I fill out my finances. It asks me two things I'm curious about. One part is my balance of all my savings and checkings accounts, this is fairly low because I'm just not a saver. I get my money and I use it as I need it on bills. It also asks about value of my other personal property, which i dont quite understand, i own household items and a car. Do i value those and put that there?

The other part is 'I have mortgages or other debts amounting to' I have no mortgage since I live with my grandma. I pay no bills for living here, The only bills I pay are my car (different to the car I own) and insurance. Do I just put my loan from the bank on my car?

These last two points however are located in the 'Real estate information' So I'm not even sure I have to fill it out.

This is all very confusing to me and I'm in a rush to do it now since we just got approved and I've read it's best to do all this asap. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

  17. Hello everyone, I just have a quick question about the Affidavit of Support.

I started my previous job in the end March of 2016 and was let go in March of 2017. This was a production based job which meant I had to learn how to do everything efficiently to make good money. This took me some time to get used to, but once I did i was averaging $20~. How ever I was injured twice for about 2 months total so in the 7 months I was actually working I made 23k, not to mention the money I continued to make in 2017. After leaving that job I quickly found my current job which is full time and pays $20 an hour as well. I only just started this job on the 27th of March but foresee no issues and will be staying here as far as I can tell.

Our I-129F Approval Notice is valid from 03/13/2017 to 07/12/2017. Will the discrepancies cause an issue with our visa or will everything be just fine?

Also what kind of proof do they need to be submitted? Obviously W2's and paychecks. But do they look at my bills, savings, and how my money is spent? Or do they just care about how much I make?

  18. I received an Request for Evidence from Citizenship and Immigration Services about a part of my I-129F that I missed. They included what bit I missed and it has two lines on it with Yes and No to answer the questions along with a spot to check either one off, as well as a line for me to sign on the bottom of the sheet.

My question is if I just tick the proper one off and send it back in just like that will that be good enough? Or should I print out the proper pages from the I-129F and send those back in with it?
